Its one the best students focussed design schools with excellent resources to support you in all way possible. They have designed the whole experience in a way which would make you pursue what you want to with the flexibility of picking the right course for you!
Very expensive, but overall I learned a lot. I do not currently work in my field of study, however.
Its a great place. You'll love it there
I finished a BA in Film and SCAD was one of the few schools that offered a Masters degree in Cinema Studies without production. My classes were exactly the same as my undergrad work. Some of my professors didn't even teach, they had the students--most of which had not formally studied film--give lectures instead. My degree program was lengthened due to a lack of faculty, so while my classes were done, I had to wait a year to deal with the administration. My comp exam scores were lost. My information was often sent to the wrong person. As far as finding a job, I've asked the career advisor for help and she suggested a LinkedIn page. If you want to be treated like a number, this is the school for you.
I loved it! I strongly suggest getting financial aid in order to pay to go here. Debt is not a good option ... so if you can afford here without going into debt- do it!
Great school and great opportunities behind every door
I thought SCAD was a wonderful school. My professors were in incredibly supportive and the technology of the college was always up to date. We had really good career services- I feel I was taught things from a career perspective that a lot of colleges leave out. To be completely honest, I fully believe that my current success (Full time, salaried w/ benefits position in my dream field) is due entirely to SCAD's combination of connections, education, and career prep.
Great experience considering two major aspects in SCAD VFX: The cutting edge equipments of the industry and the experienced faculty members.
I loved the time I spent at SCAD. Professors are helpful and professional, degree programs are challenging and rewarding, and Savannah is a beautiful city with tons of fun stuff to do. Most importantly, I now have a rewarding and well-paying job in my field and have always felt like SCAD prepared me well for the workplace. If I had to choose again between the art schools in the US, I would choose SCAD again in a heartbeat.
Not worth the money. They promise a lot of great things but don't deliver. A lot of hype for a community college level education. In fact I got a better education from my community college for a mere fraction of the cost.
