"I moved to Maine when I was 19 and thought going to school would be a smart option. They told me I would receive college credits that I could use to further my career. First lie. I was told they had an 85% job placement rate. Second lie. I was told all the nonsense about how they would help you so much after and how you would get a great internship that would lead to a great job. Lie lie lie. The only thing I got from this school was worse anxiety from catty women and 14,000 in debt that wont stop haunting me."

"I must agree this is the biggest waste of money and time. I took medical billing and coding. Buy the books, dont even use all of them. Teachers not well educated in what they are teaching. Ill admit there were a couple that seemed to try their best. Unfortunately most of them not good at all, think I could of taught the class better. $15,000 and 4 years later still never able to get work with what they taught. Also, what really upset me was we were learning ICD 9 in the school term that started in September. The next Spring they were teaching ICD 10. They knew this change was taking place and taught the old version anyway. We were told that its similar and once we knew how to look up the codes it wouldnt matter. Knowing where to look is a very important part of learning to Code. They should however still have taught us the latest which was ICD 10. Long story short, dont waste a dime at this place."

"All of the reviews you have read are absolutely true. Its a waste of nine months and money, you have teachers who give you answers, talk about sex way inapproately, hangout with students on the weekends and talk about students about other students It took me 2 years to find a clinical job. when I went on my internship they sent me to push paper (file) they leave so much out of the curriculum its crazy. I one had an interview with a well known ENT office and they had asked what was my favorite part of class that had to do with their office and I had told them they told us we would learn that in the field they said I might want to get my money back. They said no one wants to teach you in the field. They had said once you graduate they are still here for you BS I had to get a recertification and I called and called to return call. DONT DO IT I WARN YOU DONT DO IT!!"
No one should be treated that way

"This school was the worst. Not only was i bullied by students the professors bullied me to. Grades were not earned but given on how well you were liked. I never was able to find a job because i was not prepared and d given proper instruction. No one trust that school as being legit. I went home crying more times then not. Please do not support this money hole. Save ur money for a place that cares an d will teach."

"They did not prepare me for the CMA test and I did not pass. I tried 3 time to pass test . Even the professors that gave me the test told me the school did not teach me all the fundamentals and that's why I had trouble passing. Many of the area hospitals and doctors know about the school and will not hire you if there are degrees from the school . Most of my class did not get a job they after attending the school the same reason."

"This school is AWFUL!!!! My sister warned me not to go to this school but it is really the only option in my area without having to take HS level biology and chemistry as a prerequisite. None of the teachers I have had should be teachers at all. Some just don't teach. others don't understand the material they are teaching and then some just give you the specific questions and answers to study for each test, in-turn the whole chapter they taught is wasted on 10-20 questions and nothing else is retained. I feel like I have wasted $15,000."

"Absolutely horrible school. The lack of instructors was disgusting. Their lack of knowledge in said field was even worse.I graduated wondering what I was even taught besides some slick moves that felt nice. Could not get a job after completion. Hence why 7 years later I am now a nurse and not a massage therapist. Save your money and go to a more reputable school that cares more about their students and actually sees their students and not just a dollar sign walking through the door."

"I went to Seacoast Career Schools in 2006 and was in the medical billing/coding program. The teacher that was supposed to teach us the coding part stopped teaching and they brought another teacher in that was not even a certified coder. She was a really bad teacher, and just read to us from the book out loud. She did not teach us anything about coding, just read the book to us. AlĀ ot of the students were getting annoyed at her lack of teaching ability. I was frustrated because I spent $12,000.00 for this program and was not prepared enough to take the coding test to become certified coder. I failed both times of taking the test. Now there are no jobs and the schools always promised us alot of positions out there. They kept saying that coders are in demand. Try and find a job when the medical professions out there want 3 to 5 years of experience and how do you get it if they will not give you a chance. I felt that I wasted my money on student loans and now I only worked one job at an orthopedic office in Concord, NH for 9 months. I had to suddenly move and then I was not able to find work anywhere, even a receptionist position because they are excepting only people that have an associates degree, even though they say they are only needing a high school diploma. So I am very frustrated at this school, and you cannot even transfer these credits to get an associates degree. It is a non-credited school. And now I am not working in this profession that I spent $12,000.00 dollars on and I did complain and the Dean of the school had a meeting with us one day and told us to stop saying that we spent so much money on the school. So she pretty much did not care about our complaints. I received a 3.89 GPA because I studied all the time, but still failed the certified coders test twice. They did not prepare us well for this test at all. Reading from a book, I could do that. The teacher that they hired was not certified and was not a very good teacher as well. She had a bad attitude and read so fast that we could not even highlight important details in the book."

"I graduated 2014 and was hired in 2014 by an OBGYN office. After the OBGYN practiced trained me I felt like I was off the street with no knowledge. Everything I did was wrong and the MD's made me feel incompetent. Also only getting 13.00 an hr. I went and took the CMA test and failed it. So the 14,000 that I spent was a total joke. Starting 2017 it will be mandatory to have your CMA to get hired. Oh after I graduated nobody wanted to hired me unless I had 2 yrs experience. The only reason why I got a job was because I knew somebody that was working at the OBGYN office. Practitioners expect you to be perfect with perfect notes or this field isn't for you. After spending 14,000 on a tuition that 'm still paying for I figured out that I waited my money and time. I'm now working in a daycare making the same money with NO STRESS! Seacoast Career school is all about number$$$ Not about the students future!"

"Do not go there for this certification, there is no such thing as a health claims specialist. The admissions people say you'll graduate ready for work, but the giid instructors let us know too late that it's a lie. You have no real credentials, are not prepared to code or bill, and then you have to spend more money than just the 15 grand to actually become marketable. Learn from my mistake, go to a real school or accredited AAHAM traing program."

"Hopefully potential students will read this and take this advice. I am not one to write reviews or be any kind of critic, but this school is nothing but a big waste of money. I can totally relate to some of the other reviews. I also had a 4.0 at this school, as answers for tests were given to us. There were a couple of really good instructers, of which the school is lucky they are still there, the rest of them were useless, I could of taught the class. I mean they were clearly not knowledgable. Teachers leave quite often. In retrospect I would have gone to a better school. I gained a bill if $14, 000, thats about it. I did however meet some nice people and we became friends. These were fellow classmates who feel the same way I do. In closing , this is accurate advice otherwise I wouldn't have posted. .."

"I am attending the Manchester NH location (dental assiting) and when I first applied they made it sound great and my admissions consuler that I met with was great. After spending almost $15,000 of my money and nine months of my life I feel like it was flushed down the toliet. It was so easy for me to maintain a 4.0 gpa because they basically gave everyone all the answer to test and I would move along so fast and feel like I didnt learn anything.Just know when you go to look into the school they candy coat everything and if u decide to throw $15,000 down the drain you will know what I am talking about. Take the time and spend the money on a well known school!"
