"I had a great experience with Sinclair and kept finding reasons to come back and take more classes there. I found the quality of instruction to actually be above most universities I’ve attended. Although navigating the campus can be confusing at first, it is actually very nice to be able to get virtually anywhere on campus and not have to step outside during winter (99% of the buildings are connected). I saw someone mentioned rude teachers on the main campus but I never had this experience, even in a wide array of subjects. My teachers were amazing! The food offerings were pretty good as well. I don’t know if they still sell these, but the quesadillas from the little place upstairs (not the main cafeteria) were so bomb."

"DO NOT GO HERE. If I could I would give this place a zero start this had been the worst time of my life the teachers don’t get back to you in a timely manner, this place has an awful Finical aid department they are no help. In class if you work with a classmate you will get accused of cheating on the assignment Especially in psychology. This school makes you take useless classes that have nothing to do with your career. There is nothing good about this place you will be wasting your time if you go here. I was on the phone waiting to talk to someone and then all of a sudden I was sent to a voicemail"

"I have a bachelors degree from Libery University online, and this school is much more difficult. I took one class at a time and it was so much material I was spending at least 40 hours a week constantly on the computer. I was so stressed out that I thought I may develop new health problems, not to mention I had to do multiple group projects with multiple people online and it was so stressful. I had a fellow classmate verbally attack me for doing a group assignment, when no one else volunteered and we still got an A. This school needs to reevaluate the amount of material they are putting on students for 1 class for online material, it is ridiculous. They need to improve online agenda to make this more feasible. I am dreading finishing this and wouldn't recommend others to put themselves through this until they make a more realistic curriculum for classes, people work in addition to this most of the time."

"My experience at Sinclair was mostly good. I went for an online degree program. I had some prior experience before attending but nothing to the extent that I learned while attending Sinclair. I was able to get several jobs while attending that were either related or exactly in line with my degree program. Before graduating, I was hired on as a sysadmin at a government contractor. General Ed classes were miserable as you'd expect with most instructors not responding to emails promptly or sometimes at all. Outdated information in some of the classes. The IT teaching staff are pretty good overall. I worked really hard in and out of class to do well in my field and learn as much as possible. If you don't do this, you probably won't get a job or at least a good one. Overall, attending Sinclair gave me a well rounded education in IT that I don't think I could have gotten studying on my own."

"I hated this place. One of my teachers was an atheist and would tell my Christian classmate that God didn’t exist until she would cry. He also made us go to the mosque as a mandatory assignment for a geography class I didn’t see why it was necessary. I stopped going to this class and failed it along with all the other classes I was taking here. I am a straight A student but I didn’t feel like subjecting myself to abuse was necessary. The staff I had to deal with while signing up for classes just made me feel terrible about myself like I was being embarrassed and ridiculed."

"I attended Sinclair Community College as a College Credit Plus student. I was homeschooled from 7th grade through my senior year. In 9th grade, I started taking courses at Sinclair. I truly enjoyed my time there for numerous reasons. 1. Safety - I always felt safe on campus. The parking attendant (Mr. Harris) who monitored our parking lot every day was always friendly, welcoming and on alert for anything that would endanger the students. Also, most all of the buildings on campus are accessible to each other through tunnels or bridged walkways. Once you are inside one of the main campus buildings, you do not have to go outdoors. That made me feel safer and more secure than having to walk through parking lots or across open areas to get from class to class. There are safety call buttons located all around campus. And in the library, there were workers who monitored the area regularly. I got to know several of them, and felt they recognized me, as well. 2. Advisors - I felt that I could always go to my advisor for assistance with issues related to classes or scheduling. Getting an appointment was very easy, even for walk-in times. They were knowledgeable about CCP students and our special circumstances, but also very helpful in preparing us to transfer to 4-year institutions. 3. Instructors - Even though I was a high school student taking college classes, the instructors did not make me feel different than the other students. They treated me with the same respect they treated others. All of my instructors were very approachable. 4. As a homeschooler, this was my introduction to more traditional learning models. I appreciated the opportunity to learn in a safe, welcoming environment. As a CCP student, I was treated to a special graduation celebration for the 35 or so high school students who earned their degree. So it was nice for them to acknowledge that we were a unique group within the college, and treat us to a special celebration. 5. Even though they treated the CCP graduates to their own celebration, we were still able to walk in the commencement with all of the other students. That was a special treat for me, a homeschooler, who would not have had a graduation experience from my own high school to attend."

"During my time at SCC I encountered several problems with the AVT program. The most expensive one was that of a contractor (Moraine airpark) under Sinclair was allowing other aircraft renters to bill thier time to Sinclair students without the sutdents knowledge. Futhermore, one of the instructors they provided was charged with a crime (FAA) which put any certificates earned by students in jepordy. Finally, once I had graduated, they denied knowledge of my graduation and flight instructor certificate making interviews and background checks awkward."

"I have been going to Sinclair for over a year and I would highly recommend based on the cost. You cannot find any cheaper school for the same degree. It is very confusing when you first start you may get misguided if you do not find a good advisor who is very upfront with you. I have taken classes online, at Dayton, and at Englewood location. I would not recommend the Dayton location however, I have had a great experience at the smaller Englewood location. In Dayton downtown it is kind of depressing, teachers are ruder, and much less friendly environment. The Englewood location is very laid back, teachers actually have normal, friendly conservations with with you, and everyone is in general is much happier. By the time I graduate in a year it will have cost me about 7000 for my associate's in business. Bigger schools like Wright State may be more exciting and have way more student involvement/activities and sports but you will SAVE ALOT by getting out the two year at a community college and transferring. I will be transferring to Franklin since they offer their business degree classes at the Sinclair locations saving me a ton in gas and I'll already be familiar with the environment."

"I have attended Sinclair Community College off-and-on since graduating high school in 2005. My experience with the college is extensive, I have been here through many changes in the college's academic offerings, campus construction, and even the switch from quarters to semesters. Sinclair has always been efficient, affordable, and eager to improve itself. I am currently studying for a science degree and I have found the facilities in their science department to be of average quality, however the tuition is incredibly affordable so I feel that the trade-off is a good value. The labs themselves need updating, the tables and seating are showing their age, and the specimen cases are ancient. The tools used in the labs are fairly new, and in good condition for students. I have attended one other local college (a private medical school), and their facilities were fantastic - they were modern, in excellent condition, and readily available for lab usage. This college was also $25,000 a year for tuition compared to Sinclair's $7000. The quality of teachers available at Sinclair is on par with any university - there are great professors who can turn an indifferent student into a passionate lover of their subject, and there are professors who make you wonder about their credibility. Most of the professors I have taken classes with are top notch, they are experienced, well learned, and eager to impart their knowledge on anyone who will listen. I have had a couple professors who are impossible to contact, or are flippant with their students - they usually don't last more than a few terms at this school. The administration of Sinclair values the opinions and concerns of the student body and it shows in everything they do. There are events across campus that include job fairs, contests of skill and luck, give-aways, seasonal celebrations, and seminars with guest speakers. There are counselors of every type available for students - from grief and faith counseling, to counselors that will help you with budgeting and improving your academic performance. There are labs all across campus for students to use - a foreign language lab, math lab, writing, anatomy, nursing, general science - all these labs are study spaces with computers and tutors readily available. Additionally, there are a variety of clubs to join, and an expansive library to study and relax in. The food on campus is provided by Aramark, and I feel they do an excellent job of fulfilling our needs. There is a variety of junk food always at hand, but there is also a variety of healthy foods. In the cafeteria we can order fresh grilled hamburgers, pizza, and chicken tenders. There is also a well stocked salad bar, deli, and even a Chef's Table with a rotating menu that includes Chinese food and traditional comfort foods. The parking at Sinclair can be a pain in the butt. The main garage often fills up quickly in the mornings which forces us to park at a distant sports facility and ride a school shuttle back to campus. The shuttle and sports lot parking is free, but it takes time and you can't easily get back to your car between classes. If you're disabled and have a handicap placard there is plenty of parking! The Sinclair campus sits in the middle of downtown Dayton, so almost all of the buildings are connected by underground passages or above ground tunnels. This connectivity is great because the weather in Ohio can be brutal, and the urban traffic that flows through the campus is hazardous. These tunnels also make life much easier for disabled students. The campus is landscaped with plenty of trees and flowering shrubs - in the spring and summer the grounds are wonderfully inviting. Sinclair Community College is a fantastic place to begin your advanced education. With the variety of majors and extensive network of student assistance available, anyone that truly wants to get an education can get it here."

"The Mental Health program is very advanced in it skills and techniques used for this employment field. This program is very hands on and job oreinted, with extremely high expectation. I have learned so much and can't wait to learn and use my education on the job."

"Sinclair is a fabulous school to get your AA degree as a stepping stone to a future career or an AA degree toward a technical degree. The cost is lower than at 4 year schools, technologically solid, and instructors actually care about their students."
