"Slippery Rock University is one of the best experiences of my life. It all started when I first walked on the campus. I know it sounds cliche, but the moment I walked on campus I told my parents, this is where I would be going to college. I just had this feeling within myself. My time at Slippery Rock was amazing! The campus is beautiful no matter what season (which may happen all in one day). All of my professors were extremely knowledgable in their field. I never felt like I was just a number, class sizes are small and you really get to know your professors and they get to know you. The student life is great! There is greek life opportunities (which I did not take part in, so I can not speak about that), specific clubs based on interests, and numerous on-campus events like quad parties and concerts. Slippery Rock is also big on giving back and I was able to be a part of so many opportunities to volunteer my time. My only regret is that I wish I would have taken more opportunities and done more with my time at The Rock!"

"Slippery Rock University is based in a small college town surrounded by a rural area. Most buildings where classes are held are a good five minute walk from the dorms. The farthest is 15 minutes from the dorms, essentially everything is congregated in the same space. It is a very safe campus, but can get boring now and again if you do not have a car. But, Slippery Rock does provide some on-campus activities during the week and weekends to try and get students out of their rooms. It is an involvement-heavy campus and definitely pushes students to join clubs and organizations. This campus was perfect for me because I knew I did not want to be walking around a city, especially at night, to get from Point A to Point B. The population size was also perfect, because it was small enough to know a few people going to and from class, but big enough to where I was still meeting new people all the time."

"Slippery Rock was a school that had very small minded people. Occasionally you would come across a handful of genuinely nice individuals though. If you stay to yourself and don't like to interact much, this is the place for you. I am from the city of Pittsburgh so going to this rural area was a big culture shock for me."

"This school was a fantastic step towards my future career. I attended Slippery Rock for 5 years to complete two entirely different Bachelor's degrees. I enjoyed every second of it and made friends from all over the world. One of SRU's strengths is their international student program."

"Slippery Rock was great place to broaden my horizons and grow within my field. There were many opportunities to take what I learned in the classroom and go to an elementary school and apply it there. The faculty was very supportive and knowledgeable, many professors were retired school teachers. Lastly Slippery Rock was affordable and gave the biggest bang for my buck."

"Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania is a beautiful university located an hour north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The campus is green and gorgeous and mixes archaic beauty (upper campus and Old Main) with modern beauty (new suite-style dorms and the new Student Union). Aesthetically, the campus is spacious, well-manicured, and pedestrian friendly. There are several amazing dining options including two traditional dining halls, Rocky's Den (for all-American finger food), several cafes (serving Starbucks coffee), and even a Quaker Steak and Lube. The campus is walking distance from the small town of Slippery Rock, a quaint place with an excellent school district. The campus is secure; there are campus police patrols, students can have walking or riding escorts if they feel unsafe, and there are several free Happy Buses that loop around campus and surrounding apartments to prevent drunk driving. The student body is about 15000, class sizes are typically small, and professors actually teach their own classes (instead of a teaching aide or student worker) as well as greet students by name! Campus resources operate well. The office of residence life employs many students on campus and has a quick turnaround when students reach out for help. The office of financial aid is speedy and knowledgeable. The office of student affairs is proactive about bringing major concerts to campus to keep students entertained. Maintenance comes when you call. The campus actively recruits international students and students of diverse backgrounds. Clubs and organizations are abundant. What more could you ask for? Every system in this University works together to give students an enjoyable experience here. I would definitely recommend this school to any and everyone!"

"Slippery Rock is one of the nations best schools for teachers. I found the curriculum to exceed what I needed to get into the teaching profession. In addition to studies, there were numerous opportunities for me to network and meet others seeking my position from all around the college. I would highly recommend this innovative and ambitious school to anyone seeking a teaching degree."

"Slippery Rock University is a great school. It's small, so class sizes range from just a few students to no more than about 150. My experience as a history major was wonderful and I received a lot of help and encouragement from the department. Experiences could vary by department, but I can certainly vouch for the excellence of the history and interdisciplinary studies departments. There are many opportunities to join clubs, fraternities/sororities, and honor societies. It is also one of the most affordable public universities in Pennsylvania, making it an excellent choice if your major is available."

"Slippery Rock offered a diverse student body, a wide offering of classes and majors and had a program within my major that fit perfectly with what I was looking for. The school was robust enough to feel like I was given many opportunities, yet still small enough to feel personal and cozy. I developed many great and lasting friendships with both students and professors. As an in-state student, the cost of tuition compared to other schools was also exceptional."

"There is not a lot to do in the area, but Pittsburgh is only an hour drive. You don't have much free time other than school, though. Doctor of Physical Therapy is a very tough and rigorous proogram so that is to be expected at any school. The faculty and 2ND year students are very encouraging and supportive. They will go out of their way to help you."

"The pros of this program are that it supports cooperation and camaraderie among cohorts, provides a solid and broad knowledge-base, includes professional experience via internship and practicum, offers a range of expertise and insight from the professors, and acknowledges the needs of a diverse and complex culture. Employers are happy to hire graduates of this reputable program as well. I cannot identify any cons of the program."

"The in-state tuition and low living expenses of Slippery Rock make the PT program an awesome value especially when compared with surounding schools and physical therapy programs. The cons are that there is not much to do in the area socially and few eating out options."

"It is an affordable program and is a very good program which allows me to complete the majority of my classes on line. There is very little financial aid that applies to students unless they are full time."

"It is not too expensive and is only an additional 36 credits so a Master's can be earned in as little as a year after your Bachelor's."
