"I felt that my degree program adequately prepared me to go on to a Master's degree concurrent with a dietetic internship in the area of nutrition and dietetics. The university offers a myriad of undergraduate and graduate majors. Tuition is cheap compared to most other universities nationwide located in an area with a cheap cost of living. However, there are steps SDSU could take to increase the diversity of the university. SDSU is also located in a smaller town, which would not be a good fit for those who prefer fast-paced lifestyles or larger cities."

"The school is small but the community is supportive. MS degrees are based on how well the advisor and student get along; therefore its very important to choose wisely and maintain open communication. SDSU did this well for me. If your looking for a small community with open professors than you will flourish at SDSU."

"The grad nursing instructors don't teach. They expect you to know & demean you when you don't. They don't want you to succeed; they make it as hard as possible. I filed an official complaint as I was required to do extra assignments other students didn't have to do and when those weren't satisfactory to them they had me sign a document saying they would lower my grade an entire letter. I honestly cannot say enough negative about the power and dynamics going on there. Please stay away"

"This is a wonderful program. There are great instructors that are doctors and that have experience working in the field. I love hearing the instructor's stories and valuable knowledge that they share. The environment is a very friendly environment. It is a nice environment to study in and do homework in."

"South Dakota State University was big enough where it had so many options for majors, extracurricular activities, and organizations, but had a small town feeling that made it seem like home. I am so happy I chose to get my education from there."

"Started out as a Microbiology major, but need straight A's back then to get into grad school. Ended up with degree in Economics, Business minor. SDSU is a good school, nice campus, excellent staff and facilities. Economic basic courses were taught by a Noble prize winning Economist."

"College was an amazing experience that shaped me into the adult I am now. Not only do you learn a lot in terms of academics, but you also gain a lot of skills such as time management and balance. College is also a great experience in regards to growing up, it's almost like training wheels for being out of the house and becoming an adult."

"The pros of this program is its ability to accept diversified students from different majors and professions. The con is that it is a newer program. However this means the program is more flexible. I cannot wait to get my masters in Architecture."

"The graduate program at South Dakota State University (SDSU) has given me more real world experience in one year than my undergraduate gave me in four years. As a part of the Health and Nutritional Sciences department I have been able to chose and conduct my own research, and have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to present and network at national presentations. An advantage of SDSU is that the faculty members are very supportive and do their best to make sure you are on the right track. The community of Brookings itself is fairly small, but I find that it is close enough to larger cities that you can always find something to do."
