Degree: Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Graduation Year: 1900
"It's laughable that anyone on this site, except the shills, gives this school a sterling review. For many years now it has essentially functioned as a loan mill. It has been bought and sold by wall street types 3 times in the past year and a few months. So many other ways to become a nurse than to take a chance on a financial house of cards. Go to collegescorecard.gov to understand my position on this so-called college."

"School started off ok but when my academic counselor left it went down hill for me. Each quarter I had a new financial aid advisor and the communication was HORRIBLE! My new academic advisor is a liar and not helpful at all. I had doubts about this school and wish I wouldve quit my job and went to school on campus. Now I am in debt with no degree."

"Good program until reaching the practicum. Teachers are good but the on-line administration is really bad. Its self help whether its their computer system, lack of Dr's or problems managing the paperwork. You will only get phone contact with people who are not interested in customer service or student success. They are not prompt or caring. So my advice is if you think you will need any help in any way, there are probably better options."

Worst College Ever - 4/1/2019
Degree: Pharmacy
Graduation Year: 2020
"This is the worst college to ever attend, and my experience at this school was terrible. First, the teachers crammed information daily, about 100 power point slides and youre tested twice a week. The teachers were very unapproachable and extremely unhelpful. I also felt that some teachers were extremely racist and only helped favorites, so we were forced to do a lot of work with minimal guidance. The teachers used intimidation tactics during class which created a stressful learning environment and made it very hard to learn and focus. Also, at the end of quarter the teachers played with grades for whom they wanted and their favorites throughout the year. Also, most of the decent professors are in Savannah, and most of your classes are on a screen where you press a button to ask questions. The technology is very outdated and malfunction most of the time, which takes time away from the instruction and causes confusion. Financial aid was a different monster. We received incorrect information and the financial aid person for the pharmacy program was active military so when we went to answer questions we never received an answer, and no phone calls were returned. She was also very rude and when asked questions she seemed to not want to answer and provided incorrect rushed answers. If you have to remediate any courses please dont, its a waste of money and a scam to get more money out of you. You will need to know that information before moving forward to any other new information, and will be held accountable for it."

South Grad - 3/25/2019
Degree: Business Administration
Graduation Year: 2018
"I earned my bachelor's degree, MBA, and DBA at South University Online. I enjoyed the programs and learned a lot. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the doctoral program. I highly recommend the MBA program and strongly caution others to avoid the DBA program because it is in shambles. My first year in this program I was led by scholars in the field but after their departure it was necessary to dumb down every question, every paper, and the dissertation so that the new leadership could understand it. Students were discouraged from asking questions or completely ignored, and while I made it through others did not or had to repeat work because expectations were not clear or even known. In summary, in the DBA program you will be ignored, have to guess what they want, and then turn it in to find that your work has either not been reviewed or is not understood because it has too many statistics or big words."

Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2009
"I feel bad when I see all these negative reviews. I am completely satisfied with the MSN education I paid for and completed. The courses were well constructed and my professors were responsive and encouraging. In comparison with the MSN degrees offered in our community, South University offers an excellent education."

Melissa, Nurse Practitioner - 2/23/2019
Degree: Nurse Practitioner (Family)
Graduation Year: 2017
"I have graduated from South University with 2 degrees. First with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing and I had such a wonderful experience that I returned 8 years later to obtain my Masters of Science in Nursing with focus as a Family Nurse Practitioner. The South University program is laid out in a manner that is not only manageable but enhances learning. I was very pleased with the program and felt very prepared to enter clinic practice after graduation, which I did promptly."

Degree: Public Health
Graduation Year: 2018
"I enjoyed attending South University. Time management is the key to any learning experience, especially Online classes. I applied myself and was always present and received the education I came for. Since I was changing industry fields, I knew the a BSPH would not be sufficient. I enrolled in another University for my MPH degree that is CEPH certified in Public Health so that I would be fully qualified to work in my chosen field. South University was an excellent stepping stone for me. I don't quite understand the negative comments from some other students. They appear to need more secondary schooling and just not college material and not understanding that you have to have a solid plan and goals and most of all apply yourself to your fullest extent. South University from start to finish helped me to realize my full potential. I was an excellent student and now attend George Washington Miliken school of Public Health for my MPH. I could not have accomplished this without South University."
