"Run don’t walk to Mizzou You will have more class options, better instructors and real career options. SEMO is a really expensive community college with athletes. Don’t waste your money or your time. If I could give back my diploma for a refund I would. This University is a rip off and they know it. So much money wasted on U studies. No where to park. Poor career advisement. Rude staff. Nothing positive to say really. I have stopped listing it on my resume. It is an embarrassment to me that I went there."

"Southeast MIssouri State University was an excellent school for me to figure out what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. The professors were go supportive. They were constantly on the lookout for scholarships, internships, and jobs that they thought would be perfect for me. This prepared me for graduate school and future jobs. At SEMO, each student is an individual, and the professors meet you where you are at and push you beyond what you think is possible for yourself. I also loved their facilites. The River Campus is absolutely gorgeous, and it is a great home for their wonderful arts programs."

"Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) was a really interesting experience for me. As I am sure a lot of are, I remember being so nervous to step into this new journey and being on my own for the first time. I also had the pressure of being the first person in my immediate family to attend college so they were unable to provide me any advice or support regarding this matter. SEMO made this transition so easy and seemingly effortless. They organized many activities to keep you moving in the right direction without feeling overwhelmed. Some of these activities included registering for your first semester classes, orientation, obtaining your student ID, and campus resources. The campus is fairly small but mostly everyone is inviting and you can very easily find our own community to be exclusive with. SEMO is a great place to go if you would like a small town with big pride and support."

"This program was taught by instructors who were both knowledgeable and caring. I was fortunate to be a part of the 2nd Degree Accelerated BSN program and would recommend that track to others (if it is still available). The format of the program provided both strong didactic and clinical components covering a variety of content areas and clinical settings. Additionally, I felt well prepared to sit for boards, particularly with the completion of the suggested Hurst Review program. I passed boards on my first attempt. I have since found the faculty very supportive and helpful as I have prepared to pursue my next advanced degree."

"Southeast Missouri State University is a great small town campus that allow for great one-on-one interaction between students and professors. I recommend this university for any potential educators. This University focuses a lot of attention on technology and allows you to unleash your potential as a new teacher!"

"The business school at SEMO is very average compared to top-tier universities. Because the school is in a rural area, they do not have a lot of partnerships with companies for internships and job opportunities. In addition, the course work is very text-book focused instead of practical with consultant projects and bootcamps. I would highly suggest attending business school in a major city where you are exposed to high-caliber faculty, students, and companies. For example, if you want to work at Google, attend school in the Bay Area, work on projects outside of the classroom, intern every summer, hold a leadership position on campus, and attend every network event."

"Although I loved my experience at Southeast Missouri State University, I do not believe this school had an appropriate program for Pre-medicine students. The teachers were amazing and some of the classes were challenging, which is what is necessary for entering medical school. If I could change one thing it would be the healthcare opportunities provided by SEMO. Volunteer and shadowing hours were difficult to obtain here."

"The social work program at SEMO was wonderful while I was in it. The staff were friendly and eager to help you in any way that they could. Over the last few years however, there have been several faculty changes and the program isn't what it was when I first was accepted into the department in 2015. There are still a few gems among the faculty, but there are a lot of bad apples as well. I'm grateful to have graduated from the social work department when I did. Social work is a wonderful field and SEMO truly prepared me for what practice out in the field is actually like. My field placement taught me a lot and I wouldn't be able to succeed in my job now (that I landed two weeks after graduation) without the lessons I had learned in field and in classes. If it's something you feel called to do, DO IT. Don't let a professor dissuade you from something you feel passionate about!"

"Southeast is a great institution! The small classes and easy access to different resources on campus makes the transition from high school to college very efficient. The school is growing year by year and they are updating its technology and everything as a whole. Being a former football player here the sports atmosphere is amazing! If you're looking for a close, tight nit experience with students, staff, and faculty Southeast Missouri State is the place to be!"

"This school is great for a bachelor's degree. The tuition is not that high at all and there are plenty of scholarships out there to apply for. The school is very diverse because there is a huge international student population. The classes are anywhere from small to medium size. The majority of the teachers in the English department are very passionate and interested in their student's success. Classes have an ample amount of workload; English courses require a lot of reading and writing as to be expected. The campus has so many hills so the geography is not the best unless you want a workout every day. Not much to do on the outside of campus but plenty of things to get involved in on campus."

"Southeast Missouri State University has an excellent mental health and school counseling program. I am proud to have obtained my BS degree there in 1990 and my MA degree in Psychological Counseling there in 1992. Since that time, they have continued to expand and improve their programming and obtained CACREP accreditation. I have returned to Southeast Missouri State University to take classes to obtain certification in school counseling, and it is nice to be back after all these years!"

"The Parks and Recreation department of Southeast has faculty members that show a personal interest in the success of their students. This department gave the students an opportunity to experience how a degree in Parks and Recreation impacts a community. I saw first-hand how cities create budgets and make decisions that benefit the community. My class was assigned to create a proposal for the best way to revive the downtown sector of Cape Girardeau. The faculty members have prepared me for a full-time job and have shown me the multitude of career paths that can be achieved with this degree."
