After attending a traditional on-campus university in Los Angeles County, I transferred to SNHU to continue my education during a military deployment. I found the workload at SNHU more rigorous than at my previous university. I should note that SNHU has fewer tests (except for math classes), reducing the need for extensive studying. Despite this, I believe SNHU's methods are more effective for retaining learned information. I prefer creating projects or writing papers over last-minute study sessions... Read More

SNHU has been a great choice for me while pursuing a business administration degree. From the start the flexibility of online courses is convenient if you are a full-time working adult. I will say that the learning environment is one where you have to be motivated to do the reading and research yourself on topics to produce quality projects/outcomes for your classes. This is an excellent choice for those that are self-starters at things and need very little outside help. The professor's that I've... Read More

SNHU promotes itself as being above the fray of other online schools, but it's the same: the educational experience is centered around a blackboard with automated discussion questions that are not designed by the "instructor," an instructor who doesn't lecture, not even a videotaped lecture. Essentially the instructor baby sits the class by grading papers they don't appear to read and responding to students' emails. This school hires instructors to satisfy the US Department of Education's requirement,... Read More

The instructors are a mixed bag. Some grade on time and provide helpful feedback. The majority wait until the last minute and do not grade fairly or provide feedback. The dispute process for a grade is smoke and mirrors. They make you believe you have a chance but always side with the instructors. That said, with the few good instructors I had, I learned a lot, but many depend on sending you to youtube for videos and provide zero guidance.

My experience with SNHU was a positive one in every way. I loved the courses I took through SNHU. The professors I had were great, highly qualified, and gave needed help or direction when needed. I would reach out and they always responded and gave feedback. I had a fantastic counselor and I used their online tutoring for a few classes. Tutors are available 24/7 and extremely helpful. You get what you put into it and I gave it 110%. You have to be motivated to do the work. I would highly recommend... Read More

I was impressed with the support and attention that I received from my professors. I am please with the entire experience at SNHU. I waited more than 30 years to complete my degree, and I could not have made a better choice than SNHU. They allowed me the time and gave me feedback to help make my experience a successful on. I was able to graduate with honors.

SNHU has put a lot of work into updating their courses this year and ensuring a quality education. Where they need improvement is in regards to some of their instructors. The programs are designed so that one week is not dependent on the next; however if you make mistakes on week one, you will also make mistakes on week two. The majority of the instructors I had during my degree program would provide grades on Wed-Thurs before the following weeks assignment were due on Sunday. The classes in which... Read More

I've attended traditional college settings in the past for my associates and the beginning part of my bachelor's so I feel I have a good foundation to compare the online and in person settings. Although there are many reviews that state the school didn't hold their hand and help guide them as much as they desire, that is what you receive with an online school. SNHU specifically caters to adults who have lives- children and/or careers and I believe the expectation is that you need to find the balance... Read More

There might be a time in someone's life when things will fall apart and there are beyond explanation, well at snhu there only there for strickly one purpose and being a person from such a generation like this one a financial pandemic hit the united states like Vietnam so my point is, if there is or might be any what so ever sort of interruption during your journey with this particular online anyone with such interruption or health problems no matter how many times its mention or documented courses... I am a current employee/Masters student of Southern New Hampshire University. I have spent the past hour reading reviews on the site. Some, I find completely laughable, some legitimate. For anyone that says we are a diploma mill, that is a complete insult for the value we offer our students and what our degree means. Any degree, no matter where it's from, or what it is, is a STEPPING STONE to moving forward in your career. I completely agree with the fact that there isn't enough man power. Especially... This review comes from the point of a former Student Financial Counselor. Once upon a time, SNHU's College of Online and Continuing Education had a passion for its students, it's faculty, and for morality as a whole. I grew as a counselorwith them, loving the beginning but despising the outcome. When I started, our staff to student rations were appropriate. You took your time, used the knowledge SNHU would spend a vast amount of money imbuing into you and helped your students. Conversations would... Read More

I'm a current freshman here at Southern New Hampshire University on campus. A word of advice, do not come to this college. It is as much of a scam as the online degree program. You have to dish a ridiculous amount of money for tuition and room and board, then they hit you with all kinds of little charges they just don't tell you about. Classes are boring and professors simply do not care about their students. I had a professor tell us today that he sees his students as less than people, and more... Read More

Going back to school as an "adult" can be very intimidating. You have to figure out how to balance work, home, family, and school. SNHU was great at providing the ability to do all that. Classes aren't always easy, and they require a lot of time, research, and dedication. However, I found that even while I am a procrastinator, the courses are set up for you to succeed as long as you apply yourself. I rarely had difficulty when needing to reach out to professors or my advisor. In fact, the advisors... Read More

SNHU is quite possibly the worst school I have ever been involved with, they do not care, they do not work with any students. There are many other good schools, this isn't one of them. STAY AWAY!!! TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. NO-VALUE FOR DEGREE. SCAM ALL THE WAY. I am hiring an attorney, this school is along the same lines as ITT!!

Last year I made the decision to go back to school and finish my degree after a 25-year layoff. Unfortunately, my grades weren’t the best and my options for school were fairly limited. I knew my goal was to finish my undergrad and then continue on to pursue a master’s degree. One of the few schools that accepted me was SNHU. I was definitely a bit unsure about the school. Partially because I was afraid the national advertising campaigns gave the school a similar reputation to University of Phoenix... Read More

The English Comp 1 class is horrible. The feedback is interpretation based and subjective. I've asked for help with writing assignments and the only response is to take online tutoring classes. Other than the obvious grammar, punctuation, works cited, APA or MLA formatting there should be no right or wrong answers. This is my worst experience so far. For the books, I would much rather have actual books with codes for learning modules. However, when ordering books for online classes that's not an... Read More

My experience with SNHU was overall excellent! All my contact with the different departments was always helpful whether it was technology, my advisor, or financial aid. Everyone was always able to give me proper answers. For example, I had to take a term off to have a baby and the financial aid office was able to tell me exactly what to do to maintain proper credits for my aid. My advisor was absolutely amazing! I would have her sign me up for all my classes and she did a great job choosing the order.... Read More

I'm now 54 and have been doing the SNHU Online learning for almost four years. I'll start my last 8-week term in 3 weeks. Others may have very well had poor support from teachers, advisors and IT. But for me, I can say that I've been very happy with SNHU, the teachers, my advisors and my courses. And from what I can tell from "Nice to be in the class with you" posts in Week 8 of each class that I've had, everyone's been pretty happy with their classes.
I've seen the negative reviews here and have... Read More
