This school is absolutely horrendous: sub-par study materials who are in need of major quality control and instructors who are too overwhelmed to care. They basically treat you like an idiot who would neither realize nor care that the expectations are as ambiguous as the rubrics and instructions for some of the assignments; not to mention the thousands of typos peppered throughout the courses. My experience has been excellent! I saw a review saying they accept you without any relevant information such as a high school transcript or college transfer transcript and that is NOT true. I was required to send both before being accepted. Online school is not easy - you need the self motivation to do it. No one is going to hold your hand to get it done. They are accredited so you will have no issue finding employment compared to “diploma mills” you hear about from other online schools. I feel really happy with my choice and if you can schedule your week - what days and times to do your school work around your job and family live, you will be fine. A lot of people make excuses and then blame the school when they fall short. I’m a single mother and work full time and I’ve managed to do the work and do well.

I was so excited about going back to school and, I was taking it head-on. I was trying to keep my work and assignments done a week ahead hold an A/B average in the class. I turned in a paper and, this college has a program set up called:( Turin) The, college policy and procedure states if you have written a paper that uses the (SAME) word, that is considered plagiarism. This system also grades in percentages which mines fell to 14% but their policy and procedure say 25% or higher. This system all... Read More gives color codes which my paper was in green which meant I was still in good standing. My instructor gave me a zero and HE flagged my paper gave me a zero. So, I challenged him and the College, went on his side saying my paper had "similar" writings. SIMILAR not the same. This whole time my Advisor I spoke to him twice during this whole time! He's sweet but, I felt left out to fail my instructor never allow me to make it up or make changes. I disenrolled today 10/20/2020 and no email on nothing from the Advisor

I loved SNHU! I graduated with honors May 2019 but kind of fell into a job not even related to my degree at a non profit organization I had been volunteering with, so I can't even tell you if this degree helped my career or not. This particular job doesn't pay well but I do actually use a lot of what I learned with our marketing. SNHU is very writing focused as well as critical thinking focused- so if you prefer to take tests and not think for yourself this is probably not a good match. To be honest,... Read More when my oldest daughter graduated she started here and hated it and dropped out quickly and is now at a community college. She is very test oriented and turns out doesn't have a lot of common sense (don't worry I adore her, she is just a do as you're told type, not a think for yourself type). So this was not a good fit for her at all. I personally loved that they allow you to explore topics, research them and learn without being thrown facts from an instructor that you need to just remember. I learned far more by writing papers each week than I ever would memorizing things and spitting out test after test. I found the professors and instructors were passionate, experienced in their field and willing to work with me. I only had one bad egg and I think she was let go because everyone else was having issues with her; FYI this is going to happen! I see a lot of people get really mad about it, but honestly if you just work with your advisors, results happen. Overall, I think it was a great experience and I am considering going on to Grad school here as well. If you are considering attending here just be ready to write a lot of papers, know that communication is KEY. Be courteous when reaching out to your instructors; mistakes DO happen; they are human, and if they don't handle the situation then reach out to your advisors. This is the biggest problem I see with online students; their lack of empathy with instructors. Collaborate, collaborate, collaborate! And have fun!

I have nothing but good things to say about SNHU. Every term is 8 weeks long (so to the guy who said they won't give you a refund for dropping a class 2 weeks in, they won't because you're already a quarter of the way done with the class..). My program was very steady- online discussions due Thursdays, everything else due Sunday night. It was so nice to have every class be layed out the same way. I've attended SNHU since January 2017 and am about to finish in May 2019. I am echoing the sentiments of those who say that SNHU is great for working adults, parents, and those who do not have the time or means to commute to a college. Yes - it is different than a brick-and-mortar college. It's an online program. Anyone who has attended an online class, whether through their local community college or through an online undergrad program such as those offered through SNHU, will find that the environments... Read More for online courses are similar. But to compare online classes to brick-and-mortar classes is comparing apples to oranges. To get an accurate comparison, compare online to online. Take an online course through your local college before beginning at SNHU to see if it's the right fit for you. It is not for everyone because it requires an immense amount of self-discipline, motivation, and independent study skills. Best for the experienced learner. They will do everything within their power to help you. I've had a greater engagement with my SNHU advisor (yes, by phone) than any live advisor at my local colleges. Definitely worth looking into - especially for parents, adults, and reluctant commuters. But I strongly urge you to compare online to online to get the most accurate representation of SNHU.

I've only been attending SNHU online for a few terms, and for the most part it has been a great experience. I was able to transfer almost all of the credits I had previously earned and was able to begin my first term with enough credits to be qualified as a junior. A few complaints: 1. During the first couple of terms, I had a 'new student' advisor who was almost harassing with the number of times she would call me - I understand I'm new to the school, but I have a 4.0 GPA and transferred in with... Read More a high number of credits...I don't need to be called 3 times a month. 2. I have had a few professors that were extreme misses - specifically in the term I just completed. There were assignments I went extremely above and beyond on but received pretty mediocre grades. When I contacted the professor about this, I received an answer that was just as vague as the rubric I was told to follow. 3. I wish I could take more classes during a term. While they are challenging, I feel taking 3 would be doable and I'd love to be able to graduate that much sooner - maybe I'll bring this up with my new advisor.... Overall, I've learned some great things and can absolutely say you'll get as much out of this school as you put into it - it's challenging and many professors grade harshly, but I'm glad I'm finishing up my degree here.
