Finished my B.S. from SHNU and I must say it has paid off from a knowledge standpoint. SNHU is all about what you put into it. If you put in the bare minimum, your knowledge will be the bare minimum. For those thinking about going to SNHU, just remember is about how much you want to learn. If you want to know to learn a lot, it's there for you. Read More I needed to learn something new, and obtain an accredited degree. The professors overall are pretty good. There are some who grade harder than others. There are some who don't do much at all, and just give you the work and expect you do it. Some of those professors when helping sometimes, their explanation is very scarce and you have to re-read things or ask for help in the discussions. Overall they are good, but on the lookout for some who are better than others. I recommend SNHU to anyone.

I'm not sure why I see employer reviews on here... it has nothing to do with the quality of the online experience. Notice how most of the reviews complain that after 2016 "there was too much work." Read More in 2019, my newborn son was in the hospital awaiting a blood transfusion from extreme jaundice, and my instructor worked with me 100% of the way. She even sent a gift in the mail for the little dude (who is doing so good now), but still gave me real critique and real feedback on my submitted work. She didn't short me because she felt bad; she was a true teacher. However... she's not the only one I felt that from. I have had zero experiences where I felt "shorted" due to my opinions. Imagine writing a pro-2nd Amendment paper in the climate. I did, and it was graded based on the evidence I presented and reasoning to support it. Decent grade, excellent conversations with my peers through discussions, and came away with new knowledge from many different ideas and beliefs. It's not an easy school. It makes you work hard, and think. The instructors are fierce but reasonable. Some are more lenient than others, but as long as you make an effort to be on time and as accurate as possible you'll love it here. A lot of the reviews here are very wishy-washy. The online environment is very easy to learn and it doesn't have any issues (some others mentioned that... I highly doubt they're being truthful) to my knowledge. I've been with them for about 5 years now and I have never had a bad experience. 100% SNHU is the place for you if you want a true "on your own terms, but actually teach me something" type of online school. It definitely takes a LOT of self-discipline... but isn't that part of why you want an education anyway?

[Online Student] - Computer Science This college is a waste of time and money. They don't teach you anything. They pawn you off to third party "tutorials", and refuse to help you in any way other then grading assignments. My emails to instructors have been repeatedly ignored. i was told that my apartment flooding, and my computer being damaged, was not a valid excuse for a late assignment. I don't know how this is considered a valid school. Don't waste your time. Go to a trade school, or another... Read More college. This is not worth the $45k i am being charged for my degree.

i did not get to attend the school. I was accepted and dealing with transcripts and what-not. When my admission rep enrolled me, he went the process quickly and made no mention that my pell grant was not going to cover all of tuition since the semesters are set up differently than the traditional colleges, therefore, only $500 of the tuition are going to be covered by pell grant, the rest of the tuition $450 plus books were going to be out of pocket every two months (semesters is 2 month long). I attended this school for 4 years and I cannot express my displeasure towards this school enough. They are very inconsistent and have many policies in place that don't make sense. The financial services they provide will go out of their way to try and get extra money from you. This school also does no provide adequate instructors. While there are some good instructors at this school there are more that will not help you in any aspect. It is very clear to me now that the university does not care... I attended SNHU for approximately 2.5 years in order to finish up a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology. I had taken numerous classes at a local state college before, so I was aware of what college classes should be like. SNHU made it very easy to get enrolled, sign up for courses, prompt responses from advisors and instructors. I did feel that the courses were rather easy for the most part. I rarely had to put much effort into the courses I took. Working on an IT degree, I was honestly very disappointed in that material. Having an associates in IT, as well as doing it for a living, I felt that almost every course that was part of the "Core Classes" for IT, really has very little to do with IT. It was very focused on process improvement, design and project management, which to me, was completely uninteresting. Some courses were really the same thing a few times around. If you are looking to get a well-rounded information technology bachelor’s degree, I don’t know I would suggest this school, unless you are only interested in system design processes. For me, I was just at a point where I wanted to get a degree no matter what. I am getting ready to start a Master’s program which will hopefully be more interesting and beneficial. All the instructors I had for the most part were always very responsive, helpful, and want to see you understand the material. Over all, I would say it’s a pretty good school, especially for someone that maybe hasn’t taken any college classes before and needs the flexibility of online schooling.

Hey everyone. I recently completed my final class for my B.S. Computer Information Technology degree. I began as a Junior as I had already received an Associate degree from a local community college. My rating of SNHU is 8/10. The only issue I have with the curriculum is that there are not enough video lectures. A lot of other online schools implement video lectures. As a result of this, SNHU taught me to be resourceful and dig up information to teach myself, if the text book wasn't clear enough.... Read More The course work was challenging and I had multiple 10 page research papers. The programming and database courses were in-depth. I actually struggled in those courses and had to put serious effort into passing, even taking into consideration that I've taken programming courses at my prior school. SNHU is challenging, but I wish they would add more work to the role of the instructor. Their only purpose seems to be to grade work.
