Student & Graduate Reviews
Master of Education - 4/6/2017
Graduation Year: 2019
"The school is great and is designed for students that juggle multiple commitments outside of the classroom. If you are looking for a diploma mill or some other "easy" online school of which to collect a refund check, look elsewhere. The instructors are quite strict on plagiarism and will easily weed out students who are not serious contenders for their degrees. As far as financial aid is concerned, the school does a fair job at trying to contact students. If they send you an email detailing that documentation is needed for review--why continue to ignore it? In my experience, they have handled all matters professionally and expediently. I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a decently priced graduate degree and cannot afford to attend a traditional school, which seems to be the majority of their graduate student base; additionally, students who are established in careers and are looking for advancement will find the school a prime pick. The course rigor here is on par with our graduate programs of similar nature, but without TAs as instructors. All of the faculty has been supremely qualified."

"I am a Post 9/11 Veteran currently attending StrayerU in DC. Strayer has a great Cadre support system that cares about Students. The Professors are all experienced professionals who use real world application to bring the best out of students to maximize knowledge. The online platform iCampus is better than most public or bigger colleges I have seen so navigating around online and on their app makes it a breeze to know when action items are due and what's been completed. Most of the students I interact with online and on campus are busy working professionals who are looking for a flexible class schedule to fit in education. The financial aid portion was easy unlike some other comments posted here. The Strayer staff makes it was easy for Veterans and other financial aid students to enroll, etc. I highly recommend StrayerU."
My experience @ Strayer University - 3/8/2017
Graduation Year: 2006
"What I enjoyed most about the school was the fact that many of the teachers were industry professionals. So, I received official lessons *and* the unofficial lessons. I also enjoyed the flexibility. Like anything in life - what you get out of an educational experience will be directly related to what you put into it."

"I have read the negative reviews of Strayer and I am so glad that I attended the university before I read them. I would have never found out what a great school it is. I have experienced both online and brick and mortar campuses and universities, non-profit and now for-profit, so this is coming from someone who has true experience. This has been one of THE BEST experiences I have ever had. By far, the best online. They have not been around since 1892 for no reason. Every quarter I say, "This is the best professor I have had," then I enter into the next quarter and say the same. They are all professionals and brilliant in their expertise and fields. When I first registered, I did so kind of last minute, so I needed a lot of help with financial aid. The financial aid person not only helped me, but called the financial aid provider with me on the phone, which was amazing. I get every refund credit on time... within two to three weeks of the class is starting. So, financial aid was and is not a problem. The success coach calls to register me for future classes and at that time checks up. While I initially thought I should get more phone calls, my grades (4.0) have proven that I do not need to be handheld. I am an adult and if I need help, I can call... reach out and ask for it. The work is rigorous... really rigorous but is relevant and real-time, real life applicable. People tend to be more vocal, when they have a bad experience making it appear to be a regularity for the university, or anything for that matter, as a whole. They often do not tell what they have or have not done to add to the situation. So, here is a positive case... I do my part, Strayer does its part, at the end there will be a graduation! Yes with debt, but I would have had it no matter what school I went to."
Repulsive - 1/13/2017
Degree: Business Administration
Graduation Year: 2018
"Absolutely repulsive. I will never recommend anyone to attend a school with such disorganized financial aid departments. I attended this school for a year before they asked for documentation that was deemed unacceptable and informed that I need to find another method of payment. They will pressure you to attending if you show slight interest. They will call and email you constantly just to get you admitted and then initiate after you spend money there. I have had about 2 appeals with supporting documentation and still denied. I am disgusted with this school as to how they do not support individuals with mental illnesses or previous illnesses. Additionally, you never hear back from your "success coach" & everyone is unhelpful!"

Graduation Year: 2013
"My experience with Strayer was definitely one that I enjoyed. I currently hold my Bachelors in Business Administration specialty HR and minor is Web design from Strayer from 2010 and Masters in Public Administration from Strayer University. Strayer staff and faculty are very knowledgeable and the classes are structured in a way that made it possible for a single mother to take care of her family, work and further her education. The classes are structured just like any other big University with online classes. The content relates to real world experiences and examples. As with any school or class to succeed you have to apply yourself."

"When you first apply to the institution, the staff will be overwhelmingly helpful. They will call and text and reach out to you throughout the scope of the courses and make sure you're reaching your goal. The further you get to achieving your degree, the more you will notice how hard it is to get a hold of anyone if you need any assistance. The material in the classes can ALL be found online which means you technically are not learning anything if the students (9 out of 10) take this route. WORST SCHOOL EVER. huge scam. Do not get yourself involved with this nightmare of an institution."

"My experience with Strayer University has been remarkable. I have never had an issue with staff, curriculum, financial aid, or noncooperation from my success coach or any other entity within the community. Yes, I have encountered challenges while attending; however, any concern was addressed timely and professionally. I am proud to say that I am a Strayer University Student, and I would recommend the University to any adult that is serious about obtaining higher education."
