"The college culture is surprisingly friendly and open. There are a lot of student activities to do on and off campus. Although Tarleton State is/was a bit isolated, the deep friendships you create make up for not having that much around. The instructors in my program however, were a joke! There were some instructors that couldn't answer a basic question and there is an upper Spanish class you have to take in order to graduate about poetry from the 1500s. Firstly, no one can read or understand what is even being said, secondly, that Spanish is not the same Spanish we're learning, thirdly, who can write fifteen page papers on poems with five lines, and fourthly, how is doing any of that supposed to help me improve my Spanish? That class was needless and needlessly hard! When I went in there, there was a girl who was taking that class for the first time, that should've told me all I needed to know. That was the first and only class I ever failed and when I took it again, that girl was on her fourth round. I am a huge nerd and really enjoy school; but I hated that class so much I dropped my second major just so I could graduate."

"Tarleton is a great university. The moment you step on the campus you feel at home. The teachers and staff are very helpful and accommodating. The science department contains some of the brightest minds and they are willing to share that with their students."

"Tarleton was great to work with, and the advisors helped me every step of the way. I have witnessed many universities not speak to future student unless they are already student of that particular university. Tarleton is opposite, I was looking at transferring and they sat down with me and treated me as though I was already a student. They gave me a degree plan and helped me so the I could accomplish my dreams."

"Tarleton is the premier university for a student focused education. My degree was nothing short of that. I had the chance to work in state of the arc facilities including a dairy, horticulture center and a farm. I have seen first hand how hands-on education is the best type of education. It is proving itself right now as an agriculture educator. The professors at Tarleton are the BEST. They are there for you no matter the circumstances and provide a sense of home in our college. I have never met a professor I did not like or learn from. Tarleton produces the best agriculture science teachers in the state of Texas and beyond. If you want to teach agriculture, do not look anywhere else. Tarleton State University is your place."

"The MBA program at Tarleton seems to be unconcerned with student success, and is mostly focused on pumping as many students through the system as possible. Very little assistance from professors, the program has odd rules that you are not informed off, and they pump up their online class fees so that it makes the program much more expensive than advertised. The program administrators are generally unwilling to work with students on issues. The classes could have been taught without the professors, as all the assignments involved reading a chapter and completing a chapter quiz (all out of the book). Very frustrating to deal with, especially considering it is 2-3X the cost of an purely online program, without any additional benefits."

"The programs at Tarleton are unmatched in terms of faculty involvement in the education, progress and careers of their students. They genuinely care about and love the material they're teaching and the students they're teaching it to! The coursework in my program is designed to amplify understanding without overloading with "busy work". I would recommend this program to anyone!"

"Tarleton State University offers an excellent masters program in mathematics with an emphasis in data mining. Though the campus is small and 2 hours from Dallas, the quality of instructors and availability of funding is excellent."

"The Tarleton State graduate program at the Midlothian Campus is very accessible, interpersonal and close. Unfortunately, the location is not particularly entertaining for a person in their early 20s and the campus is not in walking distance from the town. I do recommend the professors, and the intimate class size makes for a great environment."

"The greatest part of my graduate program is my teachers. They are very caring about giving their students a quality education. The only con I have found is the lack of guidance for our programs of study. Many of us started taking classes without any true direction as to what was best for our degree."
