"There are very few professors in the business program who do anything more than copy & paste responses and feedback. It gets old working on papers and discussion board posts, only to see a canned response from the professors, and meaningless responses from fellow students that are just trying to meet their weekly minimum requirements. The motto for the programs should be: "Don't let quality be the enemy of quantity." It is very easy to fall behind by making a real effort, and very discouraging to see your efforts met with preformulated responses. UAGC is a place to send your money and maybe get a degree if you’re part of the elite 18% who have the stomach to make it all the way through. It’s not a place to come if you want to be challenged in a meaningful way."

"What a poor excuse for higher education. From advisors, to instruction, to course setup, there are severe communication issues. I don’t have a single kind thing to say about this university, and I hope nobody makes the awful mistake to attend the online campus."

"Spent 2 years here did not graduate. Support staff is the worst you will ever see, education is middling at best. Transferred to SNHU had no issues and am extremely pleased with the service and education from them. Just trying to get my transcripts sent for graduate school, has cost over 3 hours of endlessly going back and forth between tech support and admissions, each one saying they can't do anything and I need to speak with the other. Now the admissions office is closed and tech support says I will need contact them in the morning and I still don't have my transcripts."

"Just know you will fail at least one course a year, so you have to retake/pay more. I "failed" a course, saved the work, took course again, turned in same work and got an A+. Also 3 credits shy of my Masters because I couldn't pay 40 for a quiz, so I failed the class. They would not work with me to pay later or make payments since i was out of work. Refused to repay for another class, so left with 3 credits to go and over 100,000 in school debt."

"So today is 7/16/2019. I am on my 4th course. I have to say, Ashford pulled me in with a good speech about how I should only take out enough loans to cover my tuition. Well...into course 3, I was told that I have a balance of $494 because financial aid did not cover everything. At that point, I was forced to take out the max loan to cover everything. This is for my bachelor's degree, and I am already paying back school loans and didn't want my loan payments to be horrible when done. But I didn't have 494 to pay with mortgages, kids LIFE, etc. SO here I am taking out the max:ONLY to be told by a teacher in my last class that I plagiarized a paper (I did every paper the same throughout the course) and I went from a b to a D-..meaning that not only do I have to RETAKE the class, the stipend that I was supposed to receive from the access funds has to go right back to them. I have reached out to my teacher, and no response. She was not helpful from the beginning. Her feedback on my papers was the worse, and when I used the tutoring services, they even admitted that MOST instructions are not clear, but my paper looked good. It was almost like she failed me on purpose. Didn't even grade my last paper..just a flat out NO GRADE_ FAIL! Some feedback would have been great to know what I did right at least so when I retake the stupid course, that by the way has NOTHING to do with my major, I can know where to improve. I am seriously thinking about dropping out. From lying behind admissions counselors on financial aid, to loans, to lies about the paper...I am just about to call it quits. And not to mention...the teachers dont teach. Everything is read this article, watch this podcast and do the work! the end!"

"I'm graduating from Ashford in 9 weeks and I can say that Ashford ha been a difficult but fulfilling experience. I have worked on my course many times well into the night - but the support from the school (teachers, tutors, etc.) has been great. Yes, it is expensive, and it is not for everyone; but again, my experience has been great. Issues that others experience with enrollment, financial aid, etc - are many times caused by that student not following through as I have never had such issues and everyone involved from the school has been very responsive. I believe I only had one issue with an instructor - but it was resolved quickly and without further issues with guidance from my academic adviser. Ashford is worth the work,"

"I earned my Bachelor's in Business Administration from Ashford in 2017. I am now pursuing my Masters in Business Administration through Ashford. It was hard work, and required effort and motivation on my part. After earning my degree I am making more money then I ever have in my life. It's about the work YOU put into it, and what YOU do with your degree afterwards. I love this school and would recommend it to anyone. Throughout my program I talked to several different advisors, but they were all AWESOME and truly cared about my success."

"This school is the worst online university I have attended. The advisers and staff do not return your emails or phone calls in a timely manner. No one ever answers their phone and it will be days before you here back. Many times I had to call several times a day for a week before someone would return my call. The professors are not qualified to teach the material. My 10 year old has the same knowledge on subjects I was taught by Professors. I am a military wife and the school refused to update this in their system for over 2 years and finally at the end of that time demanded I pay them 6,000 to finish out my last semester. I would not recommend going to this school. They are unprofessional and will steal your money and pocket it. Keep copies of all communications with staff, because otherwise they will deny any issues you may have."

"I attended on campus classes at my local state University the first three years of my college education and completed my degree program online through Ashford University. My experience with Ashford was just as positive, challenging, and educational as any of my on campus courses. The primary difference was the opportunity to better balance full-time work, family and educational endeavors. I wish everyone success as you strive to complete your degree at Ashford University."

"I have been enrolled at Ashford since Jan 2016 (It was my new years resolution). Attending Ashford has been one of the best experiences that I've had. I am a mother of 2 kids, a wife, and a full time employee. AU has given me all the tools that I need to be successful. The teachers are always helpful, some of them will give you their phone # so they can speak to you about any issues that you may have with an assignment. In the beginning (the first year) the advisors checked on me just to make sure I was doing OK in my classes. My GPA is a 3.90, and I worked hard for it. Nothing in life is easy, so you have to be engaged in the discussion board, read your chapters (or you can download the book, so you can listen to the audio), and start your papers early so you don't have to rush through it. Enrolling in Ashford was the best, I chose to invest in my future, and you should too! If you are a serious student, then stop thinking about it and just do it. I am looking forward to walking down that aisle to receive my degree :)"

"I am a fairly new student in week 3 of the "EXP105 Personal Dimensions of Education" (what others referred to as the "learning class") which I think is a fantastic way to help students see whether or not distance learning is right for them before they make the commitment. I have had no problem with the school, I have had great communications with my instructor, advisors and any staff member I have reached out to via phone or email. I will see how financial aid works out in March. So far everything is seemingly moving along as it should be. Their department has also been more than helpful. I do have the mandatory financial hold that is a natural part of the transition from being a conditional student to becoming a permanent student. This is meant to help STUDENTS because if they were thinking of only finances you would not have this nonobligatory period to see how it works for you. If it doesn't work, you cant expect to have attended for free. They have to fund the program, and it was all agreed to before papers were signed. If I don't make the grade that's on me, if it don't fit that's on me, so I should have to pay the fee for the class. EXP 105 builds skills to assist you in your academic journey should you succeed, and I have gotten well more than my money's worth already from this particular course. It is not a rip off or a way to get extra money, it is genuinely a course that will enrich your life and learning process. With that being said I am doing well, the class is engaging because I am engaged, Ashford will be what you make it. While I would like a little more predictability in numbers for my stipend, it is what it is. They cant tally numbers that aren't there in concrete, and they have made me no false promises. That is not my soul purpose for being there so I am not going to spaz out over it and post impulse reviews. If it takes a little while fine, as long as it is all on the up and up which there is no indication that it wont be. I love the school, my advisers have been amazing, and believe you me, if I do run into issues like those I have read about Ill be posting here and on every legal site I can find to make it known as well as recover damages. The fact is they have been simply amazing. It is college, it is challenging, and it is going to be an amazing journey from what I can tell so far. I look forward to a better future thanks to Ashford University and my willingness to put in the hard work to get there! Also, instructors, free tutoring, and a number of additional resources are in place to help people who want to succeed do so. In my opinion and from my brief experience at Ashford success is about research and understanding what to expect, asking questions and doing your part. If that is not something you are inclined to do then it isn't logical to be upset when your expectations were not met."

"Ashford was an outstanding experience for me. Don't understand why so many negative reviews. This is a legitimate and accredited school. They do NOT just take your money and run with it. They expect you to work just as any college worth anything does. It isn't run like a traditional brick and mortar school. It is online. You cannot expect to have a traditional college experience here. If that is what you want, then stay away from this school. You must be highly motivated to succeed here. You don't get face to face interactions with professors. You don't get traditional lectures. Expect to read a lot. Expect at least two discussion posts, a quiz or two, and a writing assignment each week. This is hard work. It is demanding, you will spend a good chunk of your week doing school work. This is because you are cramming about 12 to 16 weeks of learning into 5 weeks. Online degrees are just as legitimate as a traditional degree. Some online schools are fake. Ashford is not. If it was, then why in the world would all of these highly educated professors want to have anything to do with it? Every professor I had held multiple degrees. I am talking Masters degrees and PH Ds. Some of them Ivy League taught. Some professors I had were published authors, professionals in their field. Online schools are not a joke. This is the world we live in. More and more people will be pursuing their education with some type of online learning. More and more colleges are offering online degrees. If you are ready to work hard and learn, then this is the school for you. However, if you lack motivation and drive, then do not sign up for this or any other online school."
