The only thing they stress here is APA formatting. The only thing I learned here was APA formatting. Week after week, paper after paper. A majority of the assignments involve writing long essays in every single class. It is really overwhelming and you never catch a break. Everything else, like the stuff that matters, you have to teach it to yourself.

Went for a year an a half. Had many courses retaken after getting a passing grade. When i left i was told that the loans and grant money was going to be returned to lenders. It never was. I then recieved notice that i owed an additional $1000 on a course i never took. Now im in debt to my ears.

I attended Ashford University for my Bachelor's in Social and Criminal Justice. I have nothing but good things to say about this college. All of the instructor's were very helpful, as was the enrollment, financial, and student support offices. I never had any trouble receiving funds and always received responses in a timely manner. I am now continuing my education at Ashford in order to receive my Master's in Forensics. If anyone is thinking of attending this college, rest assured, you are making... Read More

I don't understand about the negative reviews this University. From day one the staff at Ashford was very helpful and I was able to graduate in 3 1/2 years with a BA while maintaining a full time job as a military service member. I recommend this school to everyone

I am a Junior at Ashford University, and can say that so far it has been one amazing and challenging journey. I hear a lot of people down playing Ashford's accreditation, and just want to state that there are 6 major accrediting agents in the United States, and the WASC "Western Association of Schools and Colleges" is one of them. Ashford was accredited by the WASC in 2013 and came up for a review in July of 2015, and successfully passed the examination. Don't believe me, go to the WASC website and... Read More

I will graduate in January 2016 with my BA degree my experience with Ashford has been excellent. The staff has always been helpful and answered any questions I have had. My advisor changed once in four years and my first advisor let me know she was leaving for a better job and introduced me to the new one. Those that are complaining must not have put any effort into their program, maybe they thought it would be handed to them. I have and will continue to recommend this school to others.

I feel like I must warn people of this university. I have completed 95 credit hours with Ashford and yesterday they placed a hold on my account. After several (around 3 phone calls and 2 e-mails sent) I finally got in touch with my advisor. He told me that I needed to take another English class (eng122) or I wouldn't meet graduating requirements. I was told when I started that all of my English credits transferred when I began to take classes. Don't get me wrong, if another English class was required... Read More

As a military member, I found Ashford to be incredibly user friendly. As with anything, you have to take the good with the bad and no school that you attend will be 100% perfect. The professors that I had were all knowledgeable, and each had their own way of teaching and presenting material. I am not ashamed to say that I was never what you would call an "exemplary student", but the drive and determination that I had combined with the instruction and course material allowed me to graduate Magna Cum... My experience at AshFord University was great!! I have no complaints, some instructors challenged me and some didn't but I still gained/retained knowledge from each course.

I really believed that I could attend an online school to obtain my bachelor's degree with all the hype my admissions counselor gave me, with call after call; they really wear you down. I agreed even though I thought the cost was too high. Now here I am, 8 days from graduation, and they decide that I have been over-awarded, said they refunded my financial aid back to the service lender (BS), my crossover Pell was a partial, and a part of that was taken away. I call the financial aid department at... Read More

Overall Ashford University was so easy to work with. I struggled to find consistent grading amongst the different instructors, but overall did not have any serious problems. I had an Associates Degree that transferred and I chose Ashford because the accepted to most credits out of any other college I looked at. However, due to the difference between regional and national accreditation I ended up retaking a few classes I had already done for my Associates Degree. I do wish that they had job placement... I started going to school in person at a local college back in 02 right after graduation. When I got married I moved, so I couldn't continue on there. I started another school when the military decided time to move us again. I gave up on going back to school. It wasn't until my husband enrolled to use his TA from the military that I even considered going back. His counselor talked to me and she eventually talked me into it. I've not regretted it since. I'm enjoying the pace (I've doubled up on classes... Read More
