I'm beyond disappointed and dissatisfied with UAGC. I first attended ashford that merged with UAGC during my first year and each year the costs has increased without better student care, learning resources and better engaging college professors. If you're going to spend over $1500 for one course I would expect better. The re-entry team promised me a grant to help towards my balance if I came back to register. So I decided to enroll in a community college so that I can still use my financial aid while keeping courses low. I'm also able to work with kids in person and get my credits alot quicker. I recommend anyone who is looking for affordable, personalized, support and care to check with your local community college especially after covid it's so many new resources that's affordable now you don't need to spend unnecessary money for poor service. Most students that attend here are in the military so they probably have their expenses paid but if you're not a military student and going to end up paying some out of pocket I don't recommend it here the cost has skyrocketed.

I have enjoyed attending Ashford's online campus. I enrolled for my B.S. in Early Childhood Education in 2017 and graduated 10/2020. After graduating and the experience I had at Ashford, I decided to re-enroll for my M.A. in Special Education, and so far, I am happy I did. I will be graduating with my master's on 8/21. Where do I even start ?! I was really excited to start classes! Once classes began, I did four weeks worth of work to only find out that I was removed from the school and had to start over due to a miscommunication mishap. I’ve never met a school that had staff members not be so attentive to online students! This school!.. Ashford University has been the worst thing that has happened in my life. Started attending Ashford back in 2016 in hopes to obtain a bachelors degree in Early Childhood ED. The tuition, technology fees and digital materials kept going up every few months. The classes were not very educational as all that was required from the teachers was to write essays and more essays. Anyway, one day(3 yrs later) I receive a call from the bs school stating that I owed $7,242 WHAT!!!! WHY??? They apologized and... Read More said that there was an error that went undetected up until the 3rd academic year. First, they said I had maxed out of federal student loans and that I used all the financial aid available. WHAT!!!!! that was a lie. After catching them in the lie I demanded proof of every single charge. Every ledger letter is different and full of it. I noticed they were charging me for 2 classes I never took and in every other class, they were and still are charging twice for technology fees and digital material. Some courses have a double tuition fee. As of today 4/19/19, I am done talking to them and will do anything in my power to expose this school and get justice. DO NOT ATTEND ASHFORD!!! I know we all want a better future and want the best for our family but Ashford will only take advantage of your dreams. They don't care about your education, they only want your money.

I attended Ashford in 2012-2013 for my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education after speaking with a entrance counselor that assured me I would be able to become a Elementary school teacher in the state of Georgia after completing their program. After attending a year I learned from other teachers and contacting the GASPC that even upon completion I would not be able to become a teacher as it is not an Approved program in Georgia and therefore I could not sit for the GACE exam. Here I was taking out... Read More thousands of dollars in loans to earn a bachelors degree that I could not even use.Upon learning this I withdrew from the school. Why take out more debt for an education that is useless? They then said I owe $1200. They will not release my transcripts so I can go to a legit college unless I pay up. I have 66 useless credits and over $30,000 in debt because of this bogus school! I am not the only person that has been a victim to this. Several lawsuits have been made against the school with the last being announced in November of 2017 by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra. Ashford University is defrauding students making them go thousands of dollars in debt promising them an education they cannot use and no ability to repay because you cannot gain employment with the degree/piece of paper received. Their admission counselors are nothing more than sales agent targeting low income and military.

I was nervous to start an all online program but I did it anyways and I'm glad I did. I have read reviews of teachers and staff not being very helpful, but honestly when I first started I received one call a week from my advisor checking on me and making sure I was understanding things. I felt like it was too much for me but I know that they were just trying to be helpful. The online classroom is really easy to understand and I am able to work school around my busy schedule. I am in my final few months at Ashford and it has been a truly satisfying experience. The courses were challenging and I learned a lot. I went into Ashford despite the number of negative reviews online. I admit that I was hesitant but then I decided to really read into what these people were complaining about. A lot of them claim that Ashford is only out for your money. Well it may be true that they expect you to pay for your degree, but what college doesn't? College is expensive. While Ashford may be very pricey, and I admit I am nervous about having to begin the long journey of student loan repayment, the cost is clearly stated to every student in the beginning. Never once was I dropped from a course or forced to pay for things that I didn't need to graduate. Another complaint I looked into is people claiming that their degree is useless and nobody takes an Ashford degree seriously. Well Ashford has been around for several years. Decades. Do you expect me to believe that out of the thousands of graduates from Ashford, that not one of them has earned employment? Please. Another complaint. People claiming that Ashford is not an accredited university. All you have to do to debunk that lie is check on WASC. You will see Ashford University right there in black and white. Regionally accredited. Which if I am not mistaken is what you want. Some of the complaints i read where just laughable. One saying that Ashford is fake because they accept people with GEDs. Yeah? So do a majority of colleges in the United States..genius. One of my favorite complaints was a girl who apparently hated everything about Ashford and was embarrassed to be associated with it. Yet she clearly states in the beginning of her complaint that she is currently enrolled to earn her second master's degree from them. So she hates the school and is embarrassed to attend, but yet she is continuing to give them her money for a second master's degree, that I will bet nobody is forcing her to get. Yeah..I don't get it either. My advice is do your homework. Read the documents before you sign them. Don't think that online means easy and a free ride. Just read the fine print and do what is best for you.

Wow. Really don't understand the negativity about this school. Really kind of amusing though to read some of the ridiculous comments. But let's get serious. Ashford University is a legitimate school. It is in fact an accredited college. The professors are highly educated individuals who not only ask for but often times demand quality work. I enrolled with Ashford University in 2013 and I have had nothing but great experiences. The course work is challenging and exciting, and I am only 7 months away from obtaining my bachelor's degree. I have truly learned a lot thus far and I have already been able to find a job in my field of study due to my knowledge gained within my program. You have to put in the work to see the results. Okay. Let's clarify a few things. So many negative reviews about this school, but so much similarity to the complaints. "This is a trash school, because I got caught plagiarizing someone else's work!" Umm really, a school that doesn't allow cheating is a trash school? "All they want is your money!" Hmm, is there some magic college out that doesn't require you to pay for your education? "I can't find a job anywhere with my degree and they promised!" Welcome to college ladies and gentlemen! "The professors are dumb and uneducated!" Really? I don't consider people with multiple PhDs dumb or uneducated. "My degree from here is useless! Nobody hires anyone with an online degree!" Again, really? I have an online degree in early childhood education and guess what? I work in early childhood education! And on that same topic, I have three friends with degrees from "legit" colleges as you naysayers like to say, and none of them can find work in their field! I was contacted by Ashford recruiting. I explained that I was looking for a program for earning my teaching credential for the elementary level and was guaranteed that their program would help me. Foolishly I trusted what I was told. As my senior year began I had still not taken any courses towards the elementary level of education. I had questioned why all my classes were geared toward preschool and was told over and over again that this was a beginning point and that the classes I was talking about... Read More would come later. The last straw came when I was assigned a course in preschool administration. I called my academic adviser (the 7th one in 3 years) and he finally got back to me the beginning of the third week of the course (too late to drop it). After that course, I called him again and was finally able to pin him down, "No, Ashford does not offer the credential program you need to get your teaching certificate". I accused him of lying to me and he said that he never promised me I'd get my credential, that he said I would get a bachelor's degree and that all you need in most states to teach. However; from the very beginning I wanted my credential and always mentioned it when talking about my future. When I found a new university and applied for my transcript, and suddenly had a balance due. I called the finance office for an explanation and the one they gave made no sense, but I can return to classes at Ashford immediately. They won't release my transcript until I pay the balance in full as long as I want to go to another school. So, I can return to taking classes from them, but they won't let me get an education anywhere else.

I received my BA in early childhood education in the fall of 2011. The whole process was very easy and convenient for me being that I am a mother of three and have a full time job.

The quality of instruction was great my professors were always available when I had a question or a concern. Financial aid services were not a problem they were very helpful you have to be on top of things and do your part, people can't sit back and expect others to do everything for them.
