The University of Arizona Global Campus Reviews of Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration

I was expected to graduate in April 2016, now the school has me taking two classes that I just previously took due to "plagiarism". I am not expected to graduate in June 2016. Even though I'm so close to my graduation date, I'm tired of the higher expectations when it comes to assignments. I'm currently in a course where I received a 97 on my Week 2 Assignment and it gave me a 53% due to the paper being 57% of originality. The instructions for the assignment doesn't say anything about the paper being... Read More original, so I took it as doing the paper and doing what was asked. I've had some great moments at this school, but the closer I get to my EGD (expected graduation date), the more problems I have out of them saying something about my assignments.

I would not chose this college again. If I wasn't almost done, I would transfer. The classes are basic and don't require a whole lot of work. I feel as though I am basically paying for my degree and to write a few papers about 3-8 pages in length. Some of these classes are a joke too. Just a way to make money in my opinion. The finances are crazy and trying to get your disbursement, well you better just sit back and wait for it becauase it's not coming soon. I was signed up for a class that required... Ashford is a great school for someone employed full time. I was active duty military during my entire enrollment period. The coursework was challenging but not overwhelming. There is quite a bit of writing involved, so be prepared for that. For the most part the professors were engaged and knowledgeable. I learned a great deal and my degree was definitely a factor in finding a good job after I retired. Do not go into this school if you are looking for an easy ride or a degree that does not require... I attended Ashford University for 3 years and obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration. I was able to transfer in credits from a technical college. I found that the overall experience there was just like any other school. I have since attended Clemson University and North Greenville University on the graduate level. Read More information on the school to several people I knew that work in local hospitals, several of which do the hiring. I was told from all of them that as long as the school is regionally accredited, they were fine with it. I can say that my degree gave me a raise at my job as well as got me into the MBA program at Clemson University. For this school to be a "joke" as some have stated, they sure have the US Board of Education, major schools like Clemson, and the business world fooled. If you have not found a job "because of your degree", you should probably look at what your degree is in or take a look at yourself because everyone else recognizes them as a legit university. Also, if many of you have not noticed, there are a lot of people with graduate degrees without jobs and most are likely more qualified than you. These people are putting in for the same jobs as you. Experience in the field also plays a major role in the hiring process. So keep that in mind. Their business program is also accredited by the IACSB. They are for-profit therefore they are charging more and more driven by money but, which school isn't? Have any of you actually looked at the ridiculous prices schools are charging all over the country? I can assure any one looking at this university that their work is no less than any other, including the work of Clemson University. I can make this statement from personal experience. Anyone who says they failed because of a "bad teacher" is full of it, they did not put in the work therefore they failed and are throwing a temper tantrum and blaming the teacher. I didn't fail a single class because I put in 6 hours or more a week and actually studied. I really think that you will get what you put in. If you half heartedly try, you will get half hearted results and that goes with any university. If you want a degree with no work, go to a diploma mill and buy yours. Like I said before, I would recommend this university however, I would also tell future students to look at other schools as well because there are a bunch out there that are online for way cheaper. If I could go back, I would probably try to go to a public school to try and save on the bill a little. This school is just like any other for-profit or public university in the country. They are all out to get as much money as possible and they all have a joke of a financial aid department. Don't believe all of the whiners on here. There are a lot of people who actually did what they are supposed and have had success with their degrees.

Ashford is no different from any other online school such as phoenix, Walden or Capella,its hard to satisfy some people. I will be graduating with my Masters in 2014 and the work was difficult. All my professors were PhD leveled educators with a lot of experience. ALL THE COMPLAINTS HERE ARE PERSONAL (FINANCIAL AID ISSUES, BAD GRADES,STAFF WITH ATTITUDES). I read above, someone was mad due a bad grade. Hello! You earned it. I had NOOOOOO problems, my grades were earned, financial aid went smoothly... Read More and the staff was nice to me. In an online format it takes a lot of dedication and discipline. I worked 40hr/wk and studied at least 20hr/wk. One comment above: This school is not recognized in the US, REALLY!. If that was true, then why would the US dept of education (THE GOVERNMENT)allow us to borrow money to a non-accreditation school. It's a known fact, If a school is on the list at the dept. of education, then it is accredited. This school is accredited and they have a real brick and mortar in Iowa. I attended the ceremony for my BA at Ashford university. I've checked out many online schools reviews and each one has the same complaints, even top rated schools.

I had such high hopes for Ashford when I started, the first admissions counselor I had was fabulous and got me excited for my degree program and talked up the wonderful classes. I was IMMENSELY disappointed in this program. While the number of online schools is something to be desired, I wish I had looked at other options as opposed to this one. I have two weeks left in my last class which is an entry level class for writing and is a complete and total waste of my time. The advisors tell you completely... Read More different stories from each other and one told me I was able to challenge a course and another told me absolutely not. I feel like I wasted my time in this program and paid a huge amount in required digital materials that I didn't even have access to.

Another area I was disgruntled with was the financial department. I was sent a collection noticed on THANKSGIVING! Yes, that's right a flipping holiday, when my bill was paid in full with additional funding even available in my account. What a frustrating event. To top it off, no one was available to talk with because of the holiday but that didn't stop them from sending crap out. When I did get in touch with someone, I was told that they were looking into it and it was probably a glitch in the system! No apology, nothing!

I have never felt like I wasted my time more in my education aspirations and can only hope that I can deter anyone from attending this university. All they want is your money and it is a complete joke!!!! I am getting ready to start my MBA program at another university and feel like I am going to struggle to keep up because the program at Ashford was so bad./p>

I completed my BA degree at Ashford University and I'm 3 credits away from obtaining my Master with them as well. I must say I am very pleased. From day one I everyone was very helpful and concerned with me completing my degree.

I did have a few professors along the way that were difficult and caused to resend from that particular course while treading the course of completion.

The University is what you make of it. If you are having a problem with Financial Aide which seems to be the major concern... Read More on this site then ask to speak with a supervisor and get the names of everyone you speak with. I had a situation with someone in Financial Aide and when I spoke with the supervisor he resolved it in a timely fashion.

Remeber that as a life lesson everyone has a supervisor. When the employee you are dealing with cannot help you just ask for a supervisor and keep climbing until you get your point across.

Ashford will help with the advancement of my career because I will not stop until it does. I have worked in Health Care for twenty years and because I am determined that where I am is not my end I have no other choice but to SUCCEED! I wish you well as you read this review and press toward the mark of higher learning.

Getting my first bachelor's Degree at 50 was not easy, but it was very rewarding! It was frustrating to see people who cannot spell and who cannot formulate a proper sentence go forward and onto more classes. I don't believe that they should have passed the basic English Coursework, but yet we did see them in nearly every class. I beleive that this would have to be my only complaint about this school.

Otherwise the coursework was challenging. I hated the critical thinking tests, but they really make... Read More you think and use parts of the brain that normally are not stimulated, so overall it was a good thing! I emailed my advisor towards the end of classes (when i was getting burned out) that I needed a break and they were very accomodating and encouraging. K. actually cares that you succeed and she cares that you finish what you started. She was also my financial advisor and she was on top of things every step of the way. no glitches, no hitches! She made this a great experience for me and I am forever grateful that she did not let me give up on myself or the degree!

for those who complained about financial aid and access to advisors, I would need to say, you probably did not stay with it and probably were not persistent. Part of arming yourself with education includes taking on the responsibility to be persistent, to ask the tough questions and to be resourceful. For those who have these qualities, you will do well in an online environment. For those who do not, I recommend you attend the brick and mortar classes.
