"Sometimes individuals have to reinvent themselves by entering into another career path after catastrophic loss. I began this process by finishing my Bachelor's degree at Ashford (begun at Northeastern University) and then followed that by earning an MBA with Ashford. The University was in Clinton IA at the time and provided a solid education online so that I could work. I attended from 2005 to 2010 and flew to that campus to graduate. It was a huge commitment and cost a lot of money in student loans, but I am now employed in an industry I love making almost 6 figures. When I think back to when I started this journey as a single mother making only $10 per hour, I am grateful that I found Ashford. Though it is a University that has experienced some struggles, I appreciate the quality education I received and the career path I am now on. It is hard to have the courage to go into debt for an education for a better future, but here I am 13 years later with a great job and bills paid and children on their own. I am remarkably grateful."

"Stay away from "For Profit" institutions such as Ashford. Unless you are already in a job, a degree from Ashford will not open any/many doors, it will saddle you with debt. There are better non-profit schools available at a cheaper rate, better credentials and student support. Way too many negatives to list, but just a word of caution, go elsewhere for your education, you waste your money, time, effort and your future potential at this institution. No benefits whatsoever with a degree from, "For Profit", Ashford."

"I would not recommend Ashford University at all. The professors are rude and disgusting. The will insult you on your feedback about your paper or journal. Also you might get insulted about your posting on the discussion board. Also if they ask you question in your discussion post don't answer cause some will get insulted. For instance I responded to the professor reply to my discussion and he was upset with me. The professors feedback on my paper was basically calling me stupid. his Exact words----Don't you think . Not to mention the recruiter who lied."

"I contacted Ashford to finish a degree I started several years ago. They were helpful in guiding me to a degree program that would maximize the most credits - Organizational Management. After graduating, I re-enrolled into the MBA program. I just attended commencement last weekend and have to say I would recommend this college to everyone. The Instructors for the most part were excellent, and towards the end of my program , they became better - more critical and more involved. One Professor was cutting and pasting answers that were not relevant to what was being discussed, and within two weeks he was replaced. At first, I was upset because his replacement was very critical and demanding. By the end of the class, I was appreciative of his persistence to drill APA into our brains...something we should have learned in the beginning. My next and final Instructor was just as hard. I was mad at first, but again was appreciative that she wasn't letting us off easy. I wanted to blow off my last class, but had maintained a 4.0 throughout, and couldn't let myself do it. My Manager applauded my ambition during our staff meeting this afternoon and made an example of me to my co-workers. I am shopping for a DBA program and wish Ashford had a Doctorate program. I wanted to write this review because I have not had any bad experiences at Ashford and have always had a response from someone within 48 hours. I feel that they are on a path towards continual improvement, as I have seen marked improvement over the past 6 years that I have attended. When they say Quality Matters, they mean it. "When I first started I spoke to a wonderful lady who was my Advisor. However, before the end of my first class she was no longer with Ashford and I was given a new Advisor. Everyone I spoke too afterwards was unhelpful and rude. I have taken four classes and only one instructor was good. The woman instructor at Ashford in my experience are horrible they never got back to me in time and when I complained about the first one she started grading me way below what I was originally getting. I complained about her and they found no problem with her lacking communication and not returning work on time. My last class in my fourth assignment I was told I plagiarized but everything that was highlighted was cited. In addition some of the highlighted things included the cite itself inside the parentheses. I told my professor to personally review my paper and review. Of course their program is not accurate because it marked things incorrectly. This situation showed me that the papers are not being viewed by the instructor, they are being reviewed by a program. I am very dissatisfied. It does not matter that I have earned a 3.5 till today but I do not think I will continue at Ashford."

"There are a number of negative reviews about Ashford and I assume most of those are from students who should not be enrolled in college. The Masters program essentially has an "open enrollment" and some of the students in my initial classes could not write at a 5th grade level. I can understand how they would become frustrated with the program because Ashford is a test of your writing skills and dedication to the program. In no way is this an easy task, trying to complete an MBA. You are expected to have a certain level of comprehension and you are on your own to complete coursework and other required items.I had zero issues with Ashford and felt they provided a solid program that challenged me throughout."
