"The online program with Ashford university is an exceptional program. The school offers a wide range of staff to support you during your academic pursuits as well as tutor services and writing services to help with papers. The portal is simple to use and the classroom setting is just as easy. Some of the teachers are not great with feedback or rapid responding, however the vast majority of my teachers have been exceptional. They worked with me when I was going through personal stuff and was unable to attend school and have helped to keep me on track. I receive my bachelors degree there and I am currently enrolled in my masters degree program. I have also encourage my sister to enroll and she is working on her bachelors degree as well."

"The only thing they stress here is APA formatting. The only thing I learned here was APA formatting. Week after week, paper after paper. A majority of the assignments involve writing long essays in every single class. It is really overwhelming and you never catch a break. Everything else, like the stuff that matters, you have to teach it to yourself."

"I am attending the HVAC online program. I have been denied my voucher for the EPA 608 certification because I have yet to complete their lousy program. You DO NOT need an online HVAC certification to be employed in HVAC. You DO NEED the EPA 608. I am now employed in HVAC, however Ashford had nothing to do with this. My career diploma had no instructor with contact info to reach out to, they did not participate in the online video tutorials associated with my text book, the learning platform is out-of-date and there are no discussion forums. I basically paid $600 for a textbook. FYI: Ashford is only nationally accredited meaning many employers will not recognize their college degrees. Avoid this "school" at all costs."

"So today is 7/16/2019. I am on my 4th course. I have to say, Ashford pulled me in with a good speech about how I should only take out enough loans to cover my tuition. Well...into course 3, I was told that I have a balance of $494 because financial aid did not cover everything. At that point, I was forced to take out the max loan to cover everything. This is for my bachelor's degree, and I am already paying back school loans and didn't want my loan payments to be horrible when done. But I didn't have 494 to pay with mortgages, kids LIFE, etc. SO here I am taking out the max:ONLY to be told by a teacher in my last class that I plagiarized a paper (I did every paper the same throughout the course) and I went from a b to a D-..meaning that not only do I have to RETAKE the class, the stipend that I was supposed to receive from the access funds has to go right back to them. I have reached out to my teacher, and no response. She was not helpful from the beginning. Her feedback on my papers was the worse, and when I used the tutoring services, they even admitted that MOST instructions are not clear, but my paper looked good. It was almost like she failed me on purpose. Didn't even grade my last paper..just a flat out NO GRADE_ FAIL! Some feedback would have been great to know what I did right at least so when I retake the stupid course, that by the way has NOTHING to do with my major, I can know where to improve. I am seriously thinking about dropping out. From lying behind admissions counselors on financial aid, to loans, to lies about the paper...I am just about to call it quits. And not to mention...the teachers dont teach. Everything is read this article, watch this podcast and do the work! the end!"

"I had a great experience at Ashford University. I was able to go online which was so helpful. At the time I had a toddler and two teens therefore, being able to attend school online was a life saver. I was a real estate agent and when the market crashed I went back to school. My husband and I lost three homes, so I decided I needed to go back to school in 2009 to get another profession. I received my BA in psychology from Ashford University in 2013. It was a wonderful experience. It helped me to understand people and life so much more. I grew up in a domestic violent home so all the classes in psychology really helped me understand why things happen and how it affects people. Studying famous psychologist such as Freud, Albert Bandra, Jean Piaget, Ivan Palov, Erik Erickson, Carl Jung, Carl Rogers, and BF Skinner was amazing. BF Skinner created the skinner box using operant conditioning which influenced Behaviorism and led to Ivar Lovaas and Robert Koegel creating Applied Behavior Analysis. I will be taking ABA at Arizona State University. Psychology is a great degree to get, because it applies to so many different aspects. I went back to school after finishing my BA and earned my masters degree in special education. Psychology and special education go great to study together. It was perfect that I studied psychology prior, because it really helped me grasp a lot of the concepts in special education."

"Let me preface this review by saying Im not a robot nor am I being paid to write this review. Ashford is a great school, but because it is online, classes are asynchronous and only 5 weeks for undergrad and 6-9 weeks for grad and doctoral students, so you need to pay attention to due dates and make sure your life is in order before starting online education. Unlike a brick and mortar setting, youre graded on participation and it is very writing intensive. Short of a life altering event theres no excuse to check out on your school work. You get all the assignments and due dates the Friday prior to class starting so PLAN ACCORDINGLY. Also, news flash you wont be the only one with kids, family or a job, I know that because I have a career and family and have classmates with 3.9 and up GPAs who also have family and work their behinds off to get their work done! So do not attend this school if youre going to blame unresponsive teachers for your personal problems. Learn the services provided to you and seek out support systems within the school like Champs and tutoring and work ahead of schedule. You have to be self-motivated to go to school online and though some teachers are unresponsive and sometimes offer no help with coursework, make sure you keep those unanswered emails and communicate with your advisor regularly. This is YOUR education, not theirs. If its really bad and you did everything you were suppose to do, there is also a review of the course at the end, but Pull up your sleeves, apply yourself, and if youre still not passing the class AFTER doing all your required reading and assignments ON TIME, then start to ask for help.As for financial aid, this is a private institution...unlike state and local schools where you get tuition discounts as a resident and have great circumstances where your dont pay until youre out because of great financial packages that cover most or all of your expenses , understand that school isnt free and you need to plan for that. If you cant afford it, RESEARCH, look for programs and grants. Some places of employment will pay your full tuition. Also dont listen to your enrollment advisor, DO NOT start at Ashford until your financial aid package is final and you understand what you have to pay and what it covers, and if you have transfer credits dont start until you know the prior school has released them so you can enter school with a clean mind with no surprises as some will try to get you to start on Tuesday after you contact them. I hope this helps! My only criticism is that I wish the school had naspaa accreditation for the Masters of Public Admin program so Ill be attending another school after graduation."

"I will graduate with my second degree from Ashford University. I have been grafted into an exponential amazing person. This school has helped me build my character. I was so damaged when I started at this school and it has helped me refocus my future. I am happier now and I have more to offer than before to others. I started school when I was at my lowest and school has kept me grounded. This experience at Ashford University has helped me realize what is most important in my life and that is making myself "better". I have grown in every area of my life and communication is the most important "it shapes our world", this quote was a mantra for every communication course in my undergrad. An experience of a lifetime. I have made history for myself and family. Wouldn't trade this experience for nothing in the earth."

"Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT attend Ashford University!! They are unprofessional, unresponsive, and are not in the business of assisting students. I was a student and recently received a call from a collection agency that my account was sent to them. I WAS LIVID!! I called the finance department and she verified that someone had reached out to me on April 6 and that I explained to them that I was waiting on my employer to know what portion I was going to be responsible for. Next thing I know I'm getting a call from a collection agency. The woman from the finance department then transferred me to the recovery department and he explained that he could only see that the last communication was in March and that my account was placed in a "follow up" status. I said but there was no follow up, this man had the nerve to say "well it's not a real status, its a protection." I said so you mean to tell me if something is in follow up status you don't really mean to actually follow up on it???? He said "No". I said imagine if a lawyers office or a doctors office or any office for that matter said you were in follow up status but never follows up or actually meant to follow up!!! I also informed that a previous matter with a grade that I received was supposed to be looked into but never followed up. (Well I guess follow up doesn't really mean follow up at Ashford.) I called another number and they informed me that they didn't know who the president or vice presdident of the organization was and therefore couldn't transfer me. (ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? WHO DOESN'T KNOW THE NAME OF THEIR ORGANIZATION'S PRESIDENT???) I just want to pay my bill and be done with them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! THERE ARE OTHER AND FAR BETTER ONLINE INSTITUTIONS! Especially one that has a physical office you can go to."

"Ashford University has been the worst thing that has happened in my life. Started attending Ashford back in 2016 in hopes to obtain a bachelors degree in Early Childhood ED. The tuition, technology fees and digital materials kept going up every few months. The classes were not very educational as all that was required from the teachers was to write essays and more essays. Anyway, one day(3 yrs later) I receive a call from the bs school stating that I owed $7,242 WHAT!!!! WHY??? They apologized and said that there was an error that went undetected up until the 3rd academic year. First, they said I had maxed out of federal student loans and that I used all the financial aid available. WHAT!!!!! that was a lie. After catching them in the lie I demanded proof of every single charge. Every ledger letter is different and full of it. I noticed they were charging me for 2 classes I never took and in every other class, they were and still are charging twice for technology fees and digital material. Some courses have a double tuition fee. As of today 4/19/19, I am done talking to them and will do anything in my power to expose this school and get justice. DO NOT ATTEND ASHFORD!!! I know we all want a better future and want the best for our family but Ashford will only take advantage of your dreams. They don't care about your education, they only want your money."
