"It's a good school, pretty nice town, but could use higher grad admission standards. They're working on it actively."

"The faculty of my graduate program are awesome and very supportive. I have never felt that a question was too silly or that they didn't have time for me. I feel that the fault isn't so much with the program as with how the University views its graduate programs. Much more importance seems to be paid to the undergrad programs and the grad ones are forgotten. We don't even have graduate housing!"

"Tennessee is a great school to go to if you want to stay in the area. Most students go on to work in Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga. However, if you are wanting to work outside of the state or even the Southeast region, resources for networking and career opportunities are slim. Students are relatively nice and not overly competitive. However, the student body is male dominated and misogynistic undertones exist in class discussions. The social life is fine if you enjoy Tennessee sports and drinking in undergrad bars. The students don't seem to be interested in doing much else."

"The University of Tennessee has a fabulous Business Administration program and is nationally renown for it's supply chain management track. Unfortunately, the SCM track tends to over-shadow all other business departments, so the finance program is rather weak and does not meet expectations cultivated by the website and program introductions. One great thing about the University is that every professor seems to care a great deal about teaching (not just research - this is a big deal at a state school!) and values the opinion of its students. Knoxville is a wonderful small city, but cons to living in the area is that it has poor public transportation, and rent is a little pricier (as you are living in a city)."

"I am in the Deaf Education program. The only con I think it has is there is not enough use of ASL in the program. I think more of the class should be taught using voice off ASL only. Other than that the whole program is a pro. There are numerous opportunities to get involved with the Deaf community and advance signing skills and TSD is close to campus. The county UT is located in also has a county wide program for deaf students."

"The School of Information Science degree is very versatile. The professors are very knowledgable in their areas of study. I am more interested in the technology side of the house and I am excited by the recent hire of our GIS professor."

"I am currently enrolled to begin the Social Work Master's program in the Fall Semester of 2013. I rated these attributes from one of the Social Work classes I took as a Non-degree seeking graduate student. From the class that I took,I was very impressed with the professor, Dr. F, and was pleased with her method of testing, grading, and work assignments. As of now, I do not have any cons."

"The program has two tracks for those interested in clinical versus policy work. Because it is such a small program, the professors are easily accessible and work with you. Internships happen from the beginning of the program, resulting in trained students that will feel confident entering the profession."

"The faculty is very supportive, the campus is nice, and I definitely made the right choice in coming here. But, the program is primarily populated with students from the surrounding area who have families, etc. The program also doesn't have a cohort structure. I am single and moved here on my own--so while everyone is very nice, the social piece has been somewhat lacking."

"The people are very nice, and some of the faculty genuinely cares about your learning. The campus is safe, but not during the night, as there are break-ins. The classes are challenging, and you learn a great deal. Most of the courses could be better organized though."

"Pros: Top-notch professors, respected program, rigorous but relevant workload Cons: Department location could be better - it is currently in the basement of the football stadium (but is supposed to move to a new facility within the next few years). Can be tricky to get funding."

"I'm glad I chose to receive my MBA from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. The faculty is easy to approach as both a student and alumnus. I receive monthly emails still from the school providing me with updates and potential job leads. I am confident my education has helped me to get job opportunities at some of the best up and coming companies today!"
