The school is a wise financial choice. The town is approachable; not intimidating in the least. The campus is beautiful with ponds, and plenty of trees. There are also turtles and ducks around. If you do have any administrative issue, the campus is so small that you can easy get the issue handled on a personal level. If you treat your concerns like they are your own responsibility to resolve, you will not get lost in the shuffle here.
The University is really affordable, however, it is sad to say it, you have to keep in mind that you will only get what you pay for. The quality of education is very poor; I really don't know about the main campus at Tyler, but the program at the Houston Engineering center is very disappointing, at least for the ME. You never get anyone on the phone when in need of help, that's for the entire ME department, I tried getting registration codes for an entire month, and I just gave up. The staff at the HEC lack professionalism, and act just like they were doing student a favor, rather than doing a job they receive a salary for. My experience with the advisers nearly pushed me to look for another school; especially TA., he is so rude and full of it. Even though the program is very convenient for workers like me, I am truly considering transferring to another school
I enjoyed the BSN program at UT Tyler because it was convenient. The classes were online and Canvas was easy to navigate. I am a full time working nurse and mom and believe the assignments gave me time to balance my responsibilities. The staff was very helpful and responded quickly to emails. I will start my MSN program in 2018.
The professors are very friendly and loves to solve the problems of students. Put the best effort and get out with great achievement. Use the facilities in the best possible way and there are lots of things to use all ranging from computer equipment, research labs, library, writing center and many more.
I have done my Masters in UT Tyler, it is a very good place to work on our masters because the faculty and staff are really friendly and Tyler is a place which I think is a second home for me. The Practical experience that UT Tyler has give is really good and it has a curriculum which is required in Industries.
I am currently getting my MS in Industrial Management and my experience at UT Tyler has been very good so far. Though it is a relatively small school, it has state-of-art technology and a low student-teacher ratio, which allows you to build a good understanding with faculty members; not to mention it is part of the giant UT system. The Graduate School at UT Tyler tries its level best to provide New Graduate Fellowships to most of the applicants/returning students, which makes the tuition fees very less (around $4k per semester) and arranges job fairs to enable students get jobs as soon as they graduate. If you are looking to get your Masters degree in management, UT Tyler is your best bet!
My overall experience at UT Tyler has been great so far. The campus is beautiful and it has diverse population. Professors are always eager to help their students learn the material. Also, there are a lot of resources that will help you sharpen the skills in the areas of academic and professional development.
