This school is a hot mess stay away they have you starting off with class first call you a million time then next with the finicial aid process then run a back ground check im from Michigan so from flordia they run a back ground check trying to tell me something on my back ground when there is nothing my record was seal and exsponge waste my time running around getting all my paper work together full of it they should have done all of that before wasting my time with the whole process and stop calling... The actual learning part of this school's online program was amazing. The student Advisors were a bit clingy, despite me telling them I do not do well being bothered. I never missed days, and I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. It wasn't until I was enrolled in their nightmare-inducing department they call 'Career services' that I realized this place may, in fact, be insane. I have had four different 'advisors', and have been talked down to, offered jobs that I did not even remotely qualify for, and dealt... Read More with the most asinine and unprofessional people I'd never even wish on my worst of enemies. This place has countlessly placed me in for jobs without my knowledge or even in a city I could get to easily. They have even sent me into a job interview knowing I did not have the proper licenses to work there for a potential job, just to be laughed out of the place. This school needs to be reviewed with a fine tooth comb and see if they're even worthy of being considered a school. At this point, it feels more like wasted time and effort dealing with their mind-numbing stupidity.

I'm not too sure what to say about UMA. Everything started out great and then went sideways. I have also even caught several of the advisors in lies, but now that I'm in, I'm in. When I first started UMA, I began with the Human Services Program. I went through some life events that caused me to postpone my education, but quickly went back. During my re-enrollment, I changed majors and graduated in October 2018 with my diploma. I didn't want to stop there, so due to a new job I had incurred, I decided... Read More to just continue going and get my Associate's degree in Human Services. I was put through a cat and mouse chase with trying to continue my education. I was given a new student advisor who stated to me on more than one occassion that I should not change my majors and just graduate with my degree in the current program I just graduated with my diploma in because I was only 2 classes away from the degree. So, me thinking logically, I agreed, thinking that I would graduate with my degree in that program, and still have pretty much all the credits needed to still obtain my other degree. So I completed the "last 2 classes" in January 2019, and to my surprise, I get an email about the 2nd week in February alerting me to missing assignments, attendance violation, etc. Come to find out, I still had 8 more classes to go to get my degree in that program which was pretty much close to the same amount of time to complete the degree I wanted. So now I complete that course and have my paperwork fixed to where I can get into the correct program in April 2019 (was supposed to be February 25, 2019. But there is a catch here as well. I specifically told my new advisor (3rd one since November) that I did not want to take classes that DID NOT pertain to the degree that I wanted to pursue. She reassured me twice that the classes I am currently enrolled in and the other I had just completed were needed for the other program as well. To my surprise, the classes are NOT included in the degree that I want at all. So now i'm pretty much paying for classes and an education that I do not want, on top of them wanting me to pay out-of-pocket.

Late in life I decided that I would like to work in a field that would assist people so I decided to do my studies online and U.M.A. was a great choice ,there was someone ready to help you at all times.At the end of my studies I received a shot that left me with nerve damage I worked so hard to achieve my degree now I was unable to use my hand for a long period because of the pain,I panic but when I talked with my instructors and academy coaches they understood and was glad to help me. This school has ruined my life and my credit. I'm halfway through my program (9 months in) and I am $18,000 in debt. Also my degree will be useless in Louisiana and my credits will not transfer. Run away from this school if they call or you'll regret it. Trust me on this. I am seeking legal action because of all the loans I had to take out unnecessarily. Please take my advice and do NOT enroll and if you have just enrolled here, withdraw now while you are still debt free. I qualify for full government financial aid, meaning I get the MAXIMUM amount for federal grants and that was more than enough to pay my tuition. But these sharks find every way to charge more and more every semester. They will talk and build you up when you first enroll and you will love them. I did too my first semester. But don't fall for it. These people a trained to motivate you. You will also more than likely have a 3.5 or higher GPA and get praised over and over every time you talk to them. It's all a scam. Every online student is an honor roll student. Then things start to change after they have you trapped and you are thousands of dollars in debt. You can't transfer to a legitimate school because no school accepts your credits and you can't quit. To all of your that just enrolled, please think about getting out while you still have time.

I was looking for an education that would allow me to serve those less fortunate, especially the children. I was basically surfing the web looking for a place I thought would suite me. I had turned down a few who just did not feel right. When UMA called it was as if everything just clicked and I was on my way. Since I have been with UMA not once did I feel I was on my own. I have even met some really great fellow students that have been with me in a lot of courses. I have no dought at all that UMA was where I was to be and I truly believe anyone looking for a college where they are given a chance to get their degree with plenty of people on their side needs to attend UMA. I will forever be Grateful for their support in my obtaining my degree.

I leaned about UMA just around the time where I was thinking I may not even go to college. UMA encouraged me to apply, and their online "campus" was the perfect opportunity that I needed to get back on track. I am getting ready to graduate this September and have had a great experience at UMA. I have gotten the help that I needed from Academic Coaches and Financial Aid, have a great Learner's Advisor, and I am ready to graduate with my Associate's degree in my desire field - Health and Human Services....
