Ultimate Medical Academy Reviews - Associate in Medical Billing & CodingSee reviews of all programs at Ultimate Medical Academy
I was told that my disbursement check was cut and mailed on 2/28/19 it is now 3/19/19 and i have yet to receive it and i have called multiple times and all i get is "it was put in the mail allow 7-10 business days" I spoke with the post master in Tampa as well as in Florissant where I live and I also have mail watch and I was told that either the school has prepared it and not sent it or it was just never sent. Then the school tells me that after 15-business days that they can stop payment and cut me a new check which will be another three week process. What I dont understand is that UMA mailed me a student id card that was dated 3/8/19 and i received it 3/11/19. I receive books, and binders that they mail within three days but a check I have not received. No management seems to care about my "check" Im going to report this to everyone I can. DO NOT ENROLL HERE! I had told my friends about it and they were interested in enrolling but I will be sure to let them know not to. This is sad because I believe that they did not mail my check. They should have mailed the check priority. and or mail my new one that way. I am going to call the place that I took the loan out from and report this!
This story starts with the fact that I was stupid enough to let UMA guilt trip me into enrolling, the entire time I kept telling them that all I want to do right now is research what colleges are out there so I can pick the best one for me. The advisor told me he understood this and that in order to get accurate pricing information for the program I was interested in I would have to enroll. I was stupid enough to believe him, although the entire time I kept asking and making sure that the enrollment process wouldn't mean I would automatically be placed into classes and get charged - he assured me they wouldn't though he couldn't say much more on the matter. So I go through, look at the classes and decide that they aren't for me. Except now it's too late because I'm getting about half a dozen emails and around 3 or 4 phone calls a day from them. And now I just got an email saying I have been enrolled in a class! When I went onto the site to figure out what's going on the helper had absolutely nothing useful to tell me - she wouldn't even let me know how to finally get unenrolled from them. I had my suspicions before, but now I really don't think this is a legitimate school and I absolutely recommend that any prospective college goers stay far away from them. They may say that are an accredited school but let me tell you this: ITT Tech, the college my father went to, said they were a recognized and accredited school, they even had commercials all over the place. Except when he got his degree and tried to get a job, absolutely nobody would take it. They lied and pretty much stole thousands of dollars from him. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what UMA is doing so I repeat: DO NOT GO HERE.
PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE ENTERING INTO THIS COLLEGE!!!! They continually harass you with phone calls and emails and even texts!! They do not stop! I did great in school and was able to maintain my 4.0 GPA so that is good, however, you can do that with any online school! This school CONTINUALLY did not know what the other person was doing and was constantly asking me for proof of me speaking to so and so. Ridiculous! I do not need to prove my integrity to them. If I say I received it, well then I received it. Also, surprised by the amount of emails from supervisors that could not form complete sentences and even wrote as if English was not their first language. Disappointing. Glad I did well, but please consider the possibility of an enormous amount of highly annoying correspondence. Terrible!
I entered UMA in 2017 in the Medical Billing and Coding Program, and graduated in July of this year. Not only did I absolutely love the program, the instructors, advisors, and career services have been extremely helpful. After graduation, career services immediately started sending my resume out and sending me links to job openings in my area. I got a job within a little more than a month of graduating making good money. I would recommend this school to anyone that wanted to pursue schooling online. Theyre great and Ill definitely pursue another degree through them!
The school was wonderful! I never at any point felt like I was left alone to figure stuff out on my own, my advisor called every couple of weeks to check on me, tell me I was doing a good job....they send out email reminders that we had assignments due, mid-term progress reports. Absolutely wonderful all the way around and now that I've graduated they went out of their way to help me secure a job. Highly highly recommend the school to anybody looking for an education in a career change
My experience at UMA has been great the staff is very helpful and there was never a time I was left with questions unanswered I graduated with honors and they are helping me get a job in my career of Medical Billing or a career similar to that I can say that UMA has changed my life in so many ways and I thank them for all there help I'm glad I chose UMA as the school I wanted to attend I understand people have there own reviews about UMA whether it be good or bad but my own personal experience with them was nothing but good to all the future students attending you made the right choice with UMA and I wish you the best in your future career to the UMA staff thank you I really appreciate all you done and I know I will make you proud .
If you're considering going to Ultimate Medical Academy, please reconsider, the online program may be fine for some but for me it was a complete nightmare. I had only a few instructors that actually were available to me when I needed assistance and when I left messages for them, my calls were rarely returned. A lot of the time, I felt like I was teaching myself. I graduated with my Associate Degree in Medical Billing and Coding only to be told after the fact, that I needed to also get my certificate, I would've liked to have been told this while still attending classes. Now I am finding it very difficult to find work in my field and thousands of dollars in debt. Thanks for nothing UMA.
THEY WILL NEVER STOP CALLING YOU!!! find a different school. you can get an education anywhere. i graduated a year ago and they STILL call my old and current employer EVERY SINGLE DAY. not to mention the 4calls a DAY i recieve and MY MOTHER. yes i just said that. MY MOTHER. i refused to even give them any phone numbers so they searched them online and GOOD LUCK getting them to stop. SERIOUSLY go somewhere else.
I enjoy going to UMA but i feel that the classes are rushed and not enough time to learn the material. The instructors are friendly and usually respond in a timely manner. They also provide other online resources when help is needed. This course is more self taught than one on one.
Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) has you best interest at heart from start to end. I feel like I have gained an addition to my family with all the staff at UMA. They want you to finish on top. Not just enough to get your diploma, but to exceed in your K ow ledge so that you have all the skills needed to get the career you are looking for. Definitely a school that I would recommend to everyone if they want the best of the best.
