"Being new to the US and seeking employment in my specialized field of business administration, I realized very quickly that that area was already populated and finding a job in that area was going to be futile. Having decided that I needed to change my career focus to allied healthcare and seek training in the area, I was directed to UMA online degrees. I started in May of 2016 not knowing what to expect or where/how the tuition would be paid, but I was already in. I hit the ground running with a 4.0 GPA from the first course to the last, making Dean's list every semester until I graduated in July 2017. As it relates to the financial management of my studies, I am not satisfied with the transparency of the Student Finance dept. But everybody's experience is different. Overall, whenever I encountered issues I made sure to voice my disapproval and did not rest until the matter was resolved. The coursework was overwhelming sometimes, but help was always available to online students and some Instructors took their role seriously in terms of ensuring that the students finish strong. Having graduated and now moved into Alumni status, the Career Advisers have been very helpful in trying to point me to jobs that would best assist me in putting the technical knowledge into practical experience. Due to personal choices, I had taken a break from the job hunting for a few weeks but is now ready to refocus my efforts in allowing UMA to assist me in finding that job that will launch me into the healthcare industry. Overall, UMA has helped me gather the requisite knowledge I will need to move forward in my career. Problems will always exist with EVERY institution and if you sit and nit-pick about everything, you lose sight of your goals and everybody's experience will be different. If you need an institution to assist you to meet your educational goals, UMA is the place to be."
