"I am loving my decision to continue my education and for doing it here at UMA! I am currently in my 6th class and just started my 16th week of class. My experience here at UMA has been nothing short of amazing! My student advisors have been absolutely amazing, especially my first advisor Ruth. They call me on a regular basis and help me with any questions or problems I am having. They also have given me a lot of praise for getting all of my work done and turned in as well as about my grades and GPA> Tech support has also been very helpful as well. Any technical problem I have had, like getting the interactives to work, they have fixed it in a timely manner. My instructors have been extraordinary! They answer any and all of my messages and questions within a couple of hours. They also explain their answers to my questions in great detail to help me be able to complete the work. The instructors are very knowledgeable about the topic they are teaching. They have also been very kind, caring and motivational. Most of the instructors send out motivational emails and announcements every week which I have found very helpful. One of my instructors even granted me a one day extension on my discussion one week because I was having health issues and had to go to the emergency room. This school offers a lot of resources to the students. They even have a virtual library and can " Ask the librarian". They also offer a writing center where you can submit your work for review to ensure that you are not committing plagiarism and that you are including correct citations where needed, as long as you complete your work before the due date. This school as a whole has been amazing! I recommend that anyone looking to get an Associates degree in the medical field should attend this school!"

"I would say in all honesty, UMA is a great school to attend. They have your back through the end and even after you graduate. The tuition is inexpensive than majority of the other schools that have you paying an arm and a leg for. Also, UMA have great selections of majora to choose from. You also, receive reminders of when assignments are due every course and you also get to be apart of something great. I love it here and my graduation is next year in the spring. All you have to do is stay focus, be on time, and ask questions. Don't feel like you have to do this journey alone because you don't. This school is very understanding and they care. They are hers for you no matter what. You just have to speak and be clear on what you're not clear on and you shall receive your answer. Finally, when it comes down to job replacement, this school will support you and get you working in your field of study. I don't know what some of the reviews is speaking on but this school Ultimate medical academy great on saying they will support you on helping you get a job inyour field but you also have to have a part into knowing where you want to be and also put out your resumes as well not just the school. It goes hand in hand. Overall, I've recommended several people to this school and they say they love it and its a game changer for them and they will recommend others as well. Everything about this school has changed me. I have a 4.0 and always making the Dean's List since 2018. So I did it and succeeded you can too. Sometimes you have to go with your gut and ezperiences instead of reading or listening to what others have to say because you could be missing out on a great opportunity in its entirety."

"Its a scam!!! The classes are okay but you don't learn much and the career advisors are a joke!! Before I enrolled with them, I was told my tuition included the $300 certification exam and now that I've graduated, they're telling me I was never told its included. I wrote down everything I was told. And the career advisors set me up with an interview for an office 15 HOURS away from where I live, they set me up with an interview for a VET, and for a debt collection agency. Nothing to do with my degree. I do not recommend anyone to pay their outrageous amounts for substandard teaching."

"This school is terrible! I called to receive information about the program, after about twenty minutes on the phone. I had talked to the representative and told her I liked what I had heard. She then instructed me that I had to see if I was eligible to enroll, I asked her to go about that. She walks me through and tells me she will call me back when she finds out. About 20 minutes later, I have student finances calling me asking me to set up my loan. Although, I had never actually enrolled. The staff did not inform me that seeing if you're eligible to enroll automatically signs you up for classes. I called multiple times and spoke to four different people about cancelling my enrollment. The first two people I spoke to had never processed my cancelation and I was still getting calls from student finance office. Still waiting to see if my cancellation went through, they said it takes 48 hours. Do not fall for this, if they tell you you have to be approved before you can enroll!"

"Was seeking a program with this college and after 40 personal questions, which she said they want to get to know you. Advisor ask you to login and they will go over some information with you then it takes you to the enrollment part. Which they give you a total price of the program , then they want to enroll you. I had questions about fafsa deadline, she couldn't answer, I had questions about transferring credits from another school. She stated she can't transfer me until I enroll , after enrolling they will transfer me to the right people. I told her no i am not enrolling into anything anything until i can speak with someone that can answer my questions. She states , if you don't enrolled now you are siking yourself from a career and you will not complete. She basically just offended me . I am adult. I have put my kids through college and now that I have questions. I am siking myself out. It's very disrespectful to down play someone goals because I dont want to enroll until speaking to someone about my concerns. YOUNG ADULTS - BE VERY CAREFUL with the school choices. DONT EVER Sign Up for anything that you can't have all the answer to, or do not allow anyone to belittle your education or tell you can't be successful cause you dont want to be push to enroll."

"I started in 2015 at UMA. I started taking ICD9 then ICD10 was going to start within some months. So I feel my time was wasted on ICD9.Student loans were taken out without my signing anything. I never received any disimbursement payments, and I actually put in for several of them. My course was to last 10 months and the cost of that course ended up being over 16,000 and that included grants and student loans thats ridiculous, now I have an excessive debt for a course where I have not benefited anything from only gained a financial debt. I feel this matter should be looked into and I should be given a student loan cancellation or a loan forgiveness for a course that the school obviouly knew was changing within months."

"I am currently enrolled in Ultimate Medical Academy and I think this school is a joke. I really wish I did more research before making my decision of attending this school. I began school in December and I still do not have a student e-mail. I think this is VERY unprofessional and the answer I keep getting is "They are working on it." How does a University take so long just to get an e-mail set up? I want my student Amazon Prime membership and I can't get it with out my e-mail. I also can't believe the instructors in these classes actually check peoples work. I write a very detailed, well written and professional paper every week. I look at other students papers because we have to evaluate each other and write a review on their essay. Some of these students need to go back to kindergarten. They write maybe two sentences, have misspelled words and do not use capitalization. What really bothers me is that the teachers gives these students the same great remarks that they give myself. This just blows me away. It is very frustrating seeing that. It makes me feel that the quality of work doesn't matter. Think about it; these people are trying to work in healthcare as a medical biller, Health and Human Services employee ect..... Our healthcare system is already screwed up and I can't imagine how much worse it would be if these students get hired, by mistake. I would run away fast if your thinking about attending this so called university. I am looking into transferring and that it is not an easy process. I might be stuck here until I graduate next June. I am currently on the honor roll, (for the first time in my life) and I am starting to think that this school graduates everyone as long as the student loans go through. I am embarrassed to tell people the name of my school. It just sounds fake, Ultimate Medical Academy? Sounds like a pay for diploma type of school. They are always asking for students to do reviews so here is mine!"

Hi Kyle - Thank you for reaching out to us. A criminal background check is an enrollment requirement at Ultimate Medical Academy and we include a disclosure in our enrollment packet to gather consent and provide information about the process. Many healthcare positions require a background check before hiring and our goal is to avoid enrolling students who may not be able to pass a background check satisfactorily when seeking employment in their field of study after graduation.

If you have any questions about the admissions process, please reach out to our UMA Cares Team at 800-509-5474 and we would be happy to discuss in more detail with you.

Responded: 6/3/2019

Hi there - Thank you very much for reaching out to us. As stated on page 33 of the UMA Catalog, UMA does not guarantee transfer of credits from UMA to another institution or from another institution to UMA. All potential credits are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and accepted credits are awarded at the discretion of UMA. For students seeking transfer credits from courses taken outside of UMA, these credits must have been earned with a grade of C or higher. The transfer-of-credit award is based on a five-level transcript analysis conducted by course level, title and number of credits, course objectives and course description. UMA maintains a signed, written record of transfer credit granted for previous education by Registrar and notification is sent to the student regarding the outcome of the transfer credit evaluation. "This place is a jokethey prey on those who are already at a disadvantage and then push you to take loan after loan for programs that are overpriced and sub-standard! How is this place even in business... my program was a waste of time and money! It all started with my first visit to that prison-looking place. I should have turned around and ran immediately!!! I mean, what actual school brings you in for a tour and then the woman assigned to advise me asked inappropriate questions about my age, family, the status of my relationship with my childs fatherand then pushed me into the financial aid office within the first 30min. Once I was approvedmeaning they can bleed my student loan allowance dry, she shoves a pile of papers in my face and basically badgers me to sign up. The campus is literally 2 dirty floors of a rundown building in the crack den of Clearwater. AgainI blame this whole experience and the debt Im now in (without an actual career in the dental field at all to show for it, since Im now working in CVS earning $10/hr) on these so called admissions advisors!!!! These people are not trained.. and they bully you into enrolling in this awful place. I only went in to take a tour after being hounded and harassed for weeks with calls (up to 5-6x per day) to my cell phone. Bottom line: dont waste your money and go to a REAL SCHOOL! This place should be SHUT DOWN!"

"The actual learning part of this school's online program was amazing. The student Advisors were a bit clingy, despite me telling them I do not do well being bothered. I never missed days, and I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. It wasn't until I was enrolled in their nightmare-inducing department they call 'Career services' that I realized this place may, in fact, be insane. I have had four different 'advisors', and have been talked down to, offered jobs that I did not even remotely qualify for, and dealt with the most asinine and unprofessional people I'd never even wish on my worst of enemies. This place has countlessly placed me in for jobs without my knowledge or even in a city I could get to easily. They have even sent me into a job interview knowing I did not have the proper licenses to work there for a potential job, just to be laughed out of the place. This school needs to be reviewed with a fine tooth comb and see if they're even worthy of being considered a school. At this point, it feels more like wasted time and effort dealing with their mind-numbing stupidity."

Then the school tells me that after 15-business days that they can stop payment and cut me a new check which will be another three week process. What I dont understand is that UMA mailed me a student id card that was dated 3/8/19 and i received it 3/11/19. I receive books, and binders that they mail within three days but a check I have not received. No management seems to care about my "check" Im going to report this to everyone I can. DO NOT ENROLL HERE! I had told my friends about it and they were interested in enrolling but I will be sure to let them know not to. This is sad because I believe that they did not mail my check. They should have mailed the check priority. and or mail my new one that way. I am going to call the place that I took the loan out from and report this!"
