"Nothing more than a very expensive socialist indoctrination center… complete with fellow students that felt that just by attending class deserved an “A”. Too political, too socialist, a complete attempt to rob one’s mind of critical thinking. They should prepare students for life in society rather than constantly programming them to burn it down."

"I can't imagine my college experience any other way. This is a great place with a strong community. The opportunities are there for you to take - research, study abroad, internships, leadership, anything you can imagine. Awesome mentors and fantastic alumni network."

"Instructors are ego maniacs, consumed by their conceit. Workload is a punishment that prohibits long-term memory by forcing a live-for the -minute crash-study strategy. This is not realistic, has no value and promotes anxiety, stress, depression and low self-esteem. Union has a reputation of bitterness for having lost its Ivy League charter. Trimester format is specifically designed for nerds. It has a strong Women's Studies thread that I really enjoyed, but its more of a school for engineer majors than a liberal arts school. Alcohol and cannabis abuse are rampant among students. Sure college kids like to party, but at Union partying is on steroids. Union needs to lighten up in every way."

"Genuinely loved my experience at Union- not only inside the classroom but my abroad experiences (over 5 different countries ) were unreal. Union prepared me to challenge myself everyday and to make opportunities happen for you when you least expect it."

"Union College strength is the opportunists it provides to its students to do anything they can think of and more during their time as a student. The trimester system allows students to take classes in all different departments and since its such a small school everyone knows each other and supports your growth across disciplines. The summer between my second and third year at Union I had the opportunity to combine my major (visual arts) and my minor (environmental studies). I was awarded a research grant to assist an art history professor do research in designing a new class about how visual art is used for environmental activism and communication! This opportunity stemmed out of conversations I had with a professor in passing about some artist that I read a news article about earlier that day. The professor was specialized in contemporary art and was inspired by our conversation to design a new course. This type of organic, intellectual creativity, and integrated education can only happen in space where professors care about fostering the minds of their students."

"I had an overall wonderful experience at Union. Every class is taught by professors (no TAs) and the school is small enough that you can really get to know your professors and classmates."

"These were the best 4 years of my life! I made amazing friends, had a great time, and learned so much. I was accepted to the best graduate school in New England in my field. Union prepared me very well. And I had a lot of fun while I was there!"

"Union was a great experience. A small school with a science focus on a great campus. Good teaching focused professors and small challenging classes. My son is now a sophomore there as well and is really enjoying the experience as a Chemistry major. He loves the combination of science and liberal arts classes and all of the attention he gets from the professors."
