"UAB is an excellent school that caters greatly to the health professions. I majored in Biological Sciences and really had some amazing teachers (and tough) who I will never forget. They do a wonderful job of making sure you understand the material they teach and having back up support if what is taught in class is not enough. And the campus is very easy to navigate, I never had any trouble finding my classes. Most students on campus are very friendly and very willing to help you around. My only drawback is the major that I picked. If you plan on getting another higher education degree in medicine, nursing, optometry, etc. then a degree in biology works just fine and will give you a good jumpstart in getting into any of those schools. A biology degree by itself does not attract great paying jobs unless your intention is to work in a lab or become a teacher of science. Generally speaking my UAB experience was great!"

"i enjoyed it. I liked being able to be in a big city and go out and make friends with people who I wasn't in school with. It was challenging and I felt like I got a good education"

"UAB is not a traditional college experience. You don't get the college town feel attending in the middle of the city. Although I have had a great time, I'm ready to get out and go somewhere more personable."
