"The MBA program is extremely focused on after graduation job placement. This is an excellent factor as the staff and faculty really push each student to be prepared for entering the job market: resumes and cover letters, internships, networking, etc."

"Overall a good solid program. There is immense resources for students to succeed. Most notably, the faculty is extremely dedicated to student success. The cons rest largely on the availability of courses. There are sometimes a limited number of slots for a required course. However, this is currently being assessed for possible solutions."

"The program, overall, is great with amazing faculty. It offers a premier SAS Certification program (one of the first and only in the country to offer such a certification) and so many experience-building exercises in the courses. The best part is probably the extensive networking. The college works diligently to help you find a career after graduation, and holds several events (seminars, dinners, etc) throughout the semester to help you meet and network with plenty of companies. The only true con I can find with the program is the fact that it sometimes feels unorganized. You will be expected to basically "build" your own program and figure out the classes you'll need to take, and everyone is not a fan of this approach."

"The School Psychology Program at The University of Alabama provides graduate students with comprehensive knowledge and training experiences to help them succeed and become leaders in the field. The extreme attention to detail during coursework and practica is important in the field of school psychology and the program represents the need for accuracy when completing each and every assignment one is assigned. The relationships that the program has with the Tuscaloosa City and County School Systems is impressive; thus, furthering the comprehensive and practical application of learned theories and frameworks. Although the School Psychology Program at The University of Alabama has many positive characteristics, I found my experience with assisting faculty with the department to be strained. Several different professors did not have a thorough understanding of what a school psychologist's job description could potentially include, which proved to be considerably frustrating upon submitting some course requirements. However, this deficit to the program could actually be turned into a benefit, or more of a learning strategy, as in the work field a school psychologist will become quite accustomed to advocating for providing a range of variable skills all while ensuring all services are comprehensive and evidence-based."

"Alabama's program is based around a core set of courses that give a broad picture of Higher Education. The program can then be customized with whatever electives I choose to take. One con of attending school at Alabama is that it is not as well known as others in the field."

"I like everything about the grad program. It is affordable and I am getting a great education. The only con is that I am an out of state student, so it is more expensive but still cheaper than other out of state schools."

"UA's online classes are just as good, if not better, than any classroom instruction I received from other schools. I took a few classes in brick and mortar institutions such as The University of Maryland in Europe and UA's classes were just the best. After I finished my AA from The University of Phoenix I decided I wanted my Bachelor's Degree from a State school. Alabama's class schedule is a traditional 16 week semester with one homework assignment due each week. I was able to double the classes and still work/ volunteer coach with no issues. The video lectures were great and the financial aid (Pell grant) helped me cover everything not covered by my employer. I learned a lot during my time there and would highly recommend this University to anyone interested in Human Environmental Science."

"The pros of going to the University of Alabama is that you will be challenged as a graduate student. The work that you do will pertain to your field of interest. They prepare you for the real world and also offer career assistance. They can assist you wtih interview and resume building. I am in the School of Social Work in the Master's program, and I must admit that I love it. The students I have met really have a genuine interest in the field. The teachers are willing to joke with you and try to relate to you. Everyone there is willing to help. They also offer stipends and scholardships throughout the year. The cons of being in the program is that they no longer have a Saturday program so you are limited to campus or distance learning. Your internship or field placement for the School of Social Work is only in the Spring semester and two out of five days in the week must be from 8am-5pm."

"Pros: Professors ensure that students understand the material by participating in projects and giving application tests that make you apply information you have learned instead of memorizing it. Professors are always available if you are confused about a topic. It is obvious they care about our futures and want us to be successful. Cons: Clinical supervisors are very harsh and can make you feel very uncomfortable when trying to successfully complete a therapy session."

"The best part of the program is the requirement to study and succeed. The worst part is that the student is overloaded with different amounts and types of work."

"The Psychology Department at UA is phenominal. As one of the largest graduate departments on campus, it provides plenty of resources, seminars, and top-notch faculty. Graduate students are a priority and the experiences available are diverse. I would recommend this department to anyone looking for a supportive and rich experience!"

"The program is great, and many of the professors have open door policies and socialize with the students on occasion. The college, though, is centered around the football team and other athletics, and getting anywhere in town on a home game Saturday is IMPOSSIBLE."
