University of Arizona Reviews of Bachelor's in Psychology

"I began my undergraduate career as an on-campus student. I found living in on-campus in Tucson wasn't really my sort of scene, so after I semester I moved back home. After becoming an online student, I did better academically than I had when I lived on-campus. Resources such as the ThinkTank can be very beneficial. I personally found advisers to be very wishy-washy. When I transitioned from on-campus to online, I met two amazing advisers who I only spoke with briefly. After I finished my transition my first adviser was fine, but during my third semester, my adviser changed and I there was absolutely no reciprocation in contact whatsoever. I tried multiple ways of contacting her, but ended up graduating with no contact at all. I am grateful, because it allowed me to find out a lot of information for myself. I do think it would be greatly disappointing if this happened for someone who needed more help than I did. As for my program, I found all of the classes to be very engaging. There are teachers who will bother you, but my biggest piece of advice would simply be to figure out what each teacher is looking for. Don't mind the low grades, you can still have a bad day, get a bad grade on a test or quiz, and pass the class with flying colors. I had a teacher who could not spell and tried to be viewed as cool by appealing to things that are popular today, such as memes or fortnite, and unfortunately many of the classes in my program were taught by this person. In this situation, I recommend looking for 7 week classes, or keeping in mind you are only in these classes for a while."

"The University of Arizona is a great school to attend. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Biology and I am pretty pleased. There is a great sports program if you are interesting in participating or just observing. There are also numerous clubs. There is a wide variety ranging from religious clubs all the way to academic major based clubs. There is also a huge assortment of Greek life. I personally am not someone who was into Greek life so it was slightly annoying that they caused the university to get a "party school" reputation. The teachers were relatively fair. As with any school there are teachers that may not be the best, but overall the teachers were pretty good. There are some core science classes that I had issues with. For example, the program makes classes like Chemistry or Physiology that all science majors have to take extremely difficult to pass. This causes many students to lose confidence in themselves and even switch majors due to these "weed-out" classes. Some of the positive aspects of U of A is the great amenities. They have a great recreation center which features an amazing gym, outdoor swimming pools, and sports courts like racquetball. There are beautiful dorms which house a big number of the students on campus. They also have a ton of different options for food like Chick-fil-a, an amazing burrito place and a great ice cream shop! As with any university, there will be aspects that students do not like, but overall the University of Arizona is a great school."

"I really loved my education with the University of Arizona. I was able to complete internships that really guided me in knowing what I wanted to do in my career, and it allowed me to make connections that I otherwise wouldn't have. I made lifelong friends through the University of Arizona that I still keep in contact with and will continue to keep in contact with throughout my life. I enjoyed all of my classes and the variety of classes that were available to me as a student there. I was able to switch my major and still graduate on time, which is a major feat in today's education system and allowed me to save money while studying what I actually wanted to study. I would highly recommend attending the University of Arizona, as it will most certainly change your life for the better."

"This entire program provided me with many opportunities in life to further enhance my educational goals. I had phenomenal professors and it was evident in their teaching method that they were fluent and learned in their respective fields. I also truly appreciated the flexibility and options to attain my degree."

"This University is a great basic University. If you want to do business this is a wonderful place o be. Being a Psychology major or any of the other less famous degree paths means you will have classes with around 300 people in it for your General Education classes. after that the classes are better sizes and there are many resources to focus in on what you want to do in the future."

"I consider the University of Arizona my home. It is where I grew up the most as a person. In the four years, I met my life-long friends and discovered my passion for psychology. My degree led me to a career in nursing. My time in undergrad was eventful and positive overall. There was always a way to be involved on campus and off campus. I attended several sporting events, worked at the Union, and studied in multiple libraries all over campus. There is a lot of supplemental tutoring and office hours to attend if you are struggling in classes. Overall, I am very glad I attended the U of A."

"The University of Arizona is a great school for people who want a good education. The opportunities and resources offered to students are unlimited. The U of A has a very accepting environment where you can be and do whatever you want to without a problem. Nothing is impossible at the University of Arizona."

"The psychology program in the College of Science program at the University of Arizona is a great experience. For one, all your professors and peers are undoubtedly supportive of your aspirations. The professors specifically have gone out of their way for me to ensure that I will be able to find a job right out of college that I love to do."

"The University of Arizona is an overall good school with great programs and instructors. Though their downfall is location. Tucson is a very boring place, with not much to do outside of class. Still, the school itself has given me a great amount information with what I have learned. The cost is high for out of state students especially, but thankfully they have a scholarship program that helps you apply for various scholarships. School spirit is out of this world especially for football and basketball. Sporting events are amazing here."

"Attending the University of Arizona was the best decision I could have made for my education. UofA provided me with an incredible opportunity to study and learn from professors who were leaders in their field of study. This ensured that I learned from passionate, knowledgeable, and capable professors eager to spread their knowledge. UofA also offered dozens of clubs, Greek life sorority and fraternities, academic organizations, and sports teams. One of the most memorable things about attending University of Arizona was the community and unity surrounding our school. Tucson is a college town, which is was an important factor when picking my school. I was able to immediately be a part of the Wildcat family. I bleed red and blue now and its a unifying factor that connects people not just on campus but across the nation. Becoming a Wildcat was one of the best decisions of my life."

"My college is the college of science which is most likely the largest college at the University of Arizona. My degree is Psychology and I plan on switching to a double major in Psychology and Neuroscience when I return for the fall semester. Overall, University of Arizona is a great school for those pursuing a degree/ career in science. They have top of the line professors and resources for science classes; my first Biology class taken at U of A was taught by a Nobel prize winner in genetics. Out of all the majors involving science, psychology is the one that is most easily accomplished; hence why I am trying out the double major or possibly switching over to neuroscience in general. The psychology classes offered at U of A are interesting and engaging and taught by personable professors who really do care about your learning. The advisers for the psychology major are attentive and very helpful in guiding students in the right direction. Personally, I've had a fantastic time with this program and would highly recommend this university. The University of Arizona has both it's strengths and weaknesses but for a student pursuing science, it's an excellent option."
