"Grantham is a decent school for the price. Just make sure to understand DEAC accreditation and the limits it has. For instance, I graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice but some police departments require degrees from regionally accredited schools. Yet some departments don't care what accreditation your school has as long as it's recognized by the US Department of Education, which DEAC is. So just understand that and be willing to accept it or don't go to Grantham. Personally I think it's discrimination to not accept national accreditation but it is what it is until things change. As far as my experience with courses and faculty, I had no big issues. Just do the work, don't be lazy, and don't say "that's good enough" because otherwise you'll allow yourself to do that every week. If you want good grades, put school work first and get it done before enjoying your time off. I worked 60+ hrs a week and still maintained a 3.9 by getting assignments done well before the deadlines and staying ahead on the reading. It takes sacrifice but it's possible. Grantham isn't a bad school, it just requires you to be proficient at self learning and you have to be disciplined enough to hold yourself accountable every week. Some people can't do that and other reviews show it. While I'm sure some people have legitimate complaints, there's a lot of whiners who obviously couldn't hack it."

"Attended Grantham and graduated in 2018. Sent an e-mail to: CMSgt (R) AL VELEZ University Outreach - Government Contracts Specialist University Outreach, Grantham University p: 913-309-4568 ext 4568 f: 1-844-505-8316 a: 16025 W. 113th Street, Lenexa, KS 66219 w: Grantham.edu e: avelez4@grantham.edu Never received a reply from him. Seem like once you graduate you are no longer a priority to them."

"While in the military, I took several online classes through Grantham. I found it ironic that their tuition fee was $250/credit hour, the highest amount the military will pay for tuition assistance. After researching local schools I could transfer to after I separated, I found out that Grantham University is nationally accredited, not regionally. No one would accept any of those credits from Grantham, and I feel I was cheated out of my time and the government was cheated out of a lot of money."

"Grantham University is a scam and fraud! Their degree's aren't worth the paper it's printed on. Veterans proceed with caution, these guys will take your money and run! Don't choose them for your education, there are many other options out there. Stay clear, do your research, these guys are scammers! They s****** me over with my graduate program."

"I highly recommend Grantham University. I spent three decades in the Military and after retiring I soon found out all the scary badges and tabs didn't mean a whole lot to many potential employers in the civilian world. For many of the jobs a College Degree was a prerequisite to even get your foot in the door. Thanks to Grantham those doors are now open. As an older student having grown up in the age of the typewriter I initially felt a little technologically challenged but the instructors at Grantham were very patient and professional. It is an experience you will not regret."

"I'd like to start by saying thank you to the Staff of Grantham for playing a major part in my decision to pursue my degree. Serving my Country in the military, raising a family, and working on my degree was challenging but not impossible. My experience with Grantham (I completed my Associates and Bachelors) was great. It took me a lot longer to get my degrees more so than the average person because I was deployed several times during my studies. I would take a course or two and then stop and start again. The staff was great, they gave me much support, guided me in the right direction whenever needed, and kept in contact with me during the entire process. The Student Representatives were awesome and the Professors professional and challenging. It was not easy and it took a lot of self-discipline and motivation in my part to study online even with life happening. I know some people who attended Grantham had opposite experiences (for whatever reason) and I can only say how unfortunate and I hope that you found what you were looking for if you decided to move on from Grantham. I gained a lot of knowledge from my studies at Grantham that have and continue to serve me well in my career and personal endeavors. For those of you who may be considering attending Grantham please do your part in ensuring you are meeting your part when registering and then of course taking courses. Speak to your advisor early and often and be sure to engage early with you professors if you are having issues. Good Luck! Thanks Again Grantham University."

"For the record, I did not graduate from Grantham; I withdrew from that place in 2016. I started in 2012 and the admission seemed nice and helpful. Once I started classes, things changed. The first term is three classes that are all due on the same days. It says it is self-paced, but some of their reading assignments are ridiculous (4-5 CHAPTERS in a week), the discussions have nothing to do with the reading material and sometimes, neither do the assignments. I used my Post 9/11 GI Bill to go here and it's been nothing but a headache since I also have a full time job and was covered shifts at work (, only giving me one day off a week because I put my foot down and told my supervisor I wasn't working 7 days straight.) I worked overnights then, so it was difficult to get a hold of my instructors in a timely manner, if they responded at all. I was emailing them WEEKLY to let them know that my assignments would be late and I explained that it was due to my work schedule and I was still docked points for it being late. Which leads me to my next point, the tempo. I felt that the tempo was TOO FAST, so fast that It was far too easy to get behind. The lack of communication didn't help this matter at all. I didn't really feel I learned anything or even had time to learn anything, I got behind and owed them payments, but I have a zero balance and trying to request my transcript and currently fighting with them over a hold. I wouldn't wish this school on my worst enemy."

"I am a current BACJ student at Grantham and am very happy with my studies so far. I was surprised when I read some of the negative comments, I have not experienced any of those issues. Everyone I've encountered has been extremely helpful from my Student Advisor to my Professors and Instructors. They offer a pay as you go program which has been instrumental in my returning to college studies. I wish they had a Masters Program in Criminal Justice."
Stay away from this place!

"This "school" is NOT regionally accredited, nor are they making any effort to be. Also, the classes and employees/faculty a joke. That said, here's what I found most interesting - many of the employment positions at Grantham University require you to have a degree from an accredited college. Therefore, this school is hypocritical any obviously they do not believe in their own product. Sad and a rip off."

"Several important points regarding this school: 1. NOT regionally accredited--so your credits won't transfer. 2. Most employers view this as a cheap, online college where you pay for a degree and don't learn much. (They're correct.) 3. Grantham only cares about your money. They'll pretend to want to help you, but in reality, their 'admissions advisers' are paid by how many people they can get into classes. 4. They will mislead and outright lie to get you to register. 5. Overall, they have VERY HIGH teacher and employee turnover. There's a reason for this--this is a churn and burn program. People don't want to work there for good reason. Recommendation: Find a way to attend a regionally accredited school. Alternately, find an apprenticeship with a skilled worker of some sort. Learn to be a mechanic or a welder. Once you're established there, you'll make just as much money (probably more) as you would with an online degree."
Being a graduate from Grantham University in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree, I can say that many of these negative statements about the school are incorrect.
No... the school is not regionally accredited. But that doesn't mean the school is "worthless" or "a joke" as some have said. Grantham U is accredited by the DETC, and is in the process of becoming regional accredited.
As far as the validity and worth of a Grantham degree....If you start at Grantham and graduate, your degree is just as valid as if it were to come from any other college or university. Employers typically don't care where your degree comes from, especially if you served in the military. Most corporations understand that military personnel must attend a non-traditional school to complete their degree.
To answer another allegation concerning transferring to another university, a degree from Grantham University will allow you to attend graduate school from a regionally accredited college. I am currently enrolled in a Master's program at the University of Maryland University College based on my Grantham U degree. So, fear not Grantham students, UMUC is a regionally accredited college!
