"It is essential to go to college and get a great education so that you can get a good paying job. While getting good grades is essential, it is also important to explore the world and make new friends and experience new things at college. It may be expensive, but it will be the best decision you have ever made."

"Great campus and surround college town really provides a lot to do. Faculty can be really dependent on what program you are in, but overall they provide a great opportunity."

"Quality engineering school, though there is less focus on students pursuing non-thesis degrees and little financial support for those individuals (no matter how well you did in undergrad)."

"The University of Illinois is a world class school for engineering. You will get a degree respected everywhere in engineering, and the campus is a great place to live."

"I enjoyed my time at U of Illinois. For the most part I felt the CEE faculty was welcoming and very experienced in their fields. I think the school is a little more dicey if you're not interested in doing a thesis as it will be very difficult to get any financial support."

"The strong reputation of the school in the finance industry, the world-class education provided by the engineering and business colleges and the proximity to the financial hub Chicago are primary reasons to pursue studies at UIUC and nowhere else. The only con I could see is that the school is located in a rather small city which provides less opportunities for socializing as opposed to a school located in a big city like LA, New York or Boston."
