University of Louisiana-Lafayette Reviews
UL at Lafayette has one of the most beautiful campuses I have seen. I love attending this school and soaking up the rich culture of the Lafayette area. The classes are challenging but not unattainable and the professors are accessible and willing to help you achieve success. If you are looking for campus life that feels like going home and being with family, a rich diverse culture and an education that will take you far in life, then you are looking for UL at Lafayette!
I loved my degree program in the College of Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The professors are very knowledgeable and are willing to help if you are putting forth the effort. Online courses were just starting to "take off" as I was graduating, so I did not have the option to take those classes. The campus is beautifully landscaped, and only takes 10 minutes to get from each of the furthest corners of campus. Along the walk you can read the bricks of alumni student's names in the "Walk of Fame." Earning this brick is a privilege and something to look forward to. The College of Education courses were my favorite. They were relevant and provided many opportunities to put methods into practice. As a Secondary Social Studies Education major, the College of Education greatly provided opportunities to see the reality of public education by having students complete observations during their very first semester. This was key for many of my classmates to determine if they wanted to stay in that degree program or pursue other studies. I have been able to stay connected to many of my classmates and professors to keep in touch with the program's updates.
UL was a very invigorating school to me. I wanted to attend a school that was diverse but not too big and UL was perfect for that! They were conveniently not too far from home and they also weren't very expensive. I loved that the classes I took my freshman year weren't like HUGE auditorium classes. The classes are more intimate and the teachers actually go out of their way to make sure they know you and are there to help. The curriculum was just as challenging as any other university and they made sure you knew your stuff! I love the culture they had! Even though I am from Louisiana it seems like Lafayette's culture is one of its own. It was a great experience for me and I wouldn't have traded it for anything.
I graduated from UL-Lafayette in 2016, and I attended UL-Lafayette all of my four years of undergrad. I can say my experience at UL-Lafayette has been by far the best four years of my life. I like many other undergraduate students changed my major quite a bit, four times to be exact but each new journey on a different educational track was met with excellent understanding and support. While UL-Lafayette is a medium to large size university, I was not just another number there I was a person whose dreams and goals were important. I finished UL-Lafayette with a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies/ concentration Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Psychology so that I can further my education by going on to graduate school. Becuase of my curiosity and indecisiveness, my overall time in the General Studies degree program was short-lived, (only one semester). The guidance and support from my academic advisor in the UL-Lafayette's University College for General Studies helped me a great deal even after just meeting me. She was invested in my future, and she helped to organize my transcript so that credits could transfer from the other degree programs I previously majored in at UL-Lafayette so that I could graduate early to pursue a graduate degree. My advisor was extremely helpful in the process of picking classes that would help me achieve my overall end goal. It was an incredibly personal experience. She was invested in my future which is something that often falls through the cracks at larger universities like this one. My educational experience at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette along with the extracurricular activities I participated in on-campus made my undergraduate experience one of a kind. To me going back to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for a visit is like going home and I wholeheartedly recommend this university to anyone who is considering receiving higher education.
University of Louisiana at Lafayette host a rigorous curriculum for Secondary Education majors. The vast knowledge of the professors prepare future teachers to teach young students in the classroom. The professors encourage individuality of future teachers and allowed us to teach in our own style.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is a school full of diversity and spirit. I have never been on a campus that was more fun-loving. The university offers a multitude of tutoring options if you ever need additional instruction. Also, I would advise you to join an extracurricular activity or group. These groups help you to network with individuals with your same interests and desires. These connections will last you a lifetime and also help you to maintain a good school-work-life balance.
ULL, made me feel welcome and excited from visiting day, to orientation about new learning experiences. Actively there are many clubs to join that are always visible present and looking for new victims. Diversity is also something present as well to help you feel welcome.
I had a very positive experience at this school. It is in a southern town where the people are very friendly. Many of the buildings on campus have been recently renovated and the campus is not very big so walking across campus to your next class is never a time issue. The professors are also very helpful and encouraging.
Not as big as other universities in the area, able to have small classes for your major. Professors were able to provide individual attention to students
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette delivered a quality education that prepared me for the real world ahead. Not only did they deliver information, but instructors were able to incorporate real life situations in every class. Majority of professors were extremely helpful and were easy to talk with if any problem came to be. My degree (Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Management) has GREAT instructors. Every professor I had in this department was helpful and wanted the students to learn. I felt like I grew as a person attending this great university. Great experience overall. I have ZERO regret choosing to receive an education from ULL.
