I completed my degree using the GI Bill and didnt have any issues. I managed my time and got every thing submitted. If youre a procrastinator then online school isnt for you. I would get my masters there but they dont have the degree I want. Some professors are better then others, as in all schools.

I would say that without UMUC, I would not have my BS today. I started my academic program in the late of 2008 and did not start my first class until January 2009. UMUC is very flexible with schedules and provide various classes that will be counted towards the degree you have chosen. I would recommend UMUC for future students.

After taking a 2 year break from a private school in Ohio, I decided I needed to return to school to finish my degree. I transferred to UMUC and had the best experience I couldve imagined. From the application, to registering, all the way through graduation I had great interactions with all of the professors, staff, admin, and other students. Taking the online courses gave me the courage to be the student I wanted to be and speak and sound the way I want to be heard. You will see throughout these reviews individuals who have had a bad personal experience make sure that their voice is known through these comments. It is important to understand that of course troubling things happen throughout college but I can assure you they have done everything they can do to make it i work and I am happy that others like myself are also writing reviews. I agree wholeheartedly with others that actual learning at UMUC will depend on what you put into it. Those who want to play the system and find an easy program, easy classes, and easy professors can do so and do well with minimal effort. On the other hand if you want to truly prepare your self for your career and life you can do so with UMUC. I fell somewhere in between the two and graduated Summa Cum Laude while learning a great deal (still with, in my opinion, minimal effort. Overall, good school. Allows a student to be the kind of student they want to be. In the end if the student doesnt learn anything it will only be at a harm to themselves. Pick UMUC

My experience with University of Maryland University College was excellent! Since I was in the military serving overseas and a single mom, life is very busy! Yet, UMUC was with me every step of way the whole time. Even though I was attending college on three separate continents over the course of 17 years, they were consistent in their pursuit of excellent academic and administrative care no matter what location. I attended face-to-face classes in Korea and Belgium, then continued 100% online in Maryland. Since I was in the military serving overseas, I had access to 1) excellent education and curriculum 2) a very diverse student population and 3) the Office of Student Affairs and Advising and especially the professors were always helpful, courteous, intelligent, challenging, and never missed a beat. Now that I have been attending college on and off for over 20 years, I have heard horror stories of other colleges and universities, especially when it came to rigor, the quality of instructors, and the academic offices either losing student records or due to poor advising, requiring students to take thousands of dollars of extra courses that they did not originally anticipate. I never had a poor experience like that with UMUC. If you have the choice to attend UMUC in either face-to-face courses or online, take it. You won't regret it.

This school wasn't created for online students and regular adult student. It's a challenge and up to hill school for the regular adult tha my has a family and work to do. As a full time worker and part time student, no matter what how much time I dedicate I never get an A grade...

I am not sure about UMUC being bad or good, but from my experiences, both undergraduates and graduates, I wish had not known about UMUC. It tremendously messed up my writing abilities; finding myself constantly scrutinizing my writings. As UMUC brings in all types of students as well as professors, it is difficult to know of their true agendas. My experiences at UMUC were not pleasant ones. As much as I would like to go and finish my graduate degree, I am possible planning to opt out.
