"I absolutely love attending UML. I take all of my classes online and it is amazing. I work full time have a family and am able to go to school online and finish my degree. I don't want to jinx myself but I haven't had a professor that I didn't like. They are pleasant helpful and encouraging. I envision receiving my degree and I am excited about the future."

"UMass Lowell provided me with great insight and flexibility with their degree programs. I originally attended there from 2009-2011 and left midway due to my financial situation. A few years later, I returned as an online student. Their degrees and classes are as rewarding as a physically attended class. The professors are helpful and the Student Center staff is very knowledgable."

"The professors were arrogant and ignorant. I guess that was one of the reasons the department was disassembled. They were too busy rotating themselves in the chairman roll to maximize their pension instead of teaching. So were vindictive if you didn't agree with their views. For example: The policy professor got mad at one of her guest speakers when he disagreed with her on unions."

"I would strongly advise against UMass Lowell Online. All of my classes were online. The websites they use are clunky and too many mistakes were made. Students pay thousands of dollars for school there shouldnt be as many errors as I had to deal with. They made a mistake in on of my classes where it caused me to be six weeks behind in homework. If youre looking to go to school online Id say do your research and dont do it with Umass."

"Universities and colleges often claim they help prepare aspiring leader without being able to back this claim up. UMass Lowell not only talks the talk but also walks the walk. As a student, I could not be happier with my selection and participation in the EdD program. My community and I thank them for building a better me, which in turn has a larger capacity and knowledge-base to serve. Thank you for revolutionizing my thinking and actions."

"My experience at the University of Massachusetts Lowell was outstanding. I did all of my classes online, although I felt very connected - as if I was in a classroom. All of my professor's were readily available to answer questions, or to provide guidance."

"Massachusetts offers both and online and on campus degrees in various fields. Their online CIT program is truly a diamond in the rough as it provides an affordable and technically challenging degree program for those that are looking for a career in IT, and specifically software development. The courses are taught by some of if the keot dedicated professors I have ever encountered in academics. Weekly chats, workshops and tutoring truly make for a seamless online experience. If you prefer in person courses, those are also an option. But the online route makes it easy for anyone to pursue this program from anywhere in the country. There are numerous online tech degrees out there but none come close to this when it comes to price and flexibility."

"UML was a great school for a professional who needed flexible class times. Also it was reasonably priced, which was great as I didnt incur a lot of debt."

"UMass Lowell had the most thoughtful professors and faculty. I transferred 4 times before I landed there to finish my degrees (BS and MS) and I couldn't have been happier! They truly want you to succeed!"

"The University of Massachusetts Lowell was a great college for not only those who lived on campus, but for the working commuter students going to school full time , like me. There were great resources for students to be able to excel in their area of study with whatever support they needed whether it was homework or activities on campus. The criminal justice program itself provided me with great insight on what to expect in the field. I also double majored in political science and my goal through the program was to affect change through policy or becoming a defense attorney. I am incredibly appreciative of the insight of my professors about their experiences experiences because it all impacted my decision to pursue social work instead. Had I not had the quality education that I had at Umass Lowell, I would not have realized that the field I studied was not the greatest fit for me. I am privileged to be working in the field of social work now because of my educational background that opened doors for me to enter into a professional field. I am now attending Rhode Island College in pursuit of maybe masters degree in social work sand wouldn't be able to have this opportunity if into weren't for the faculty support that I received at Umass Lowell."

"Umass Lowell was a great and affordable state college that provided the same opportunities for learning as a private university in New England. The college provides rigorous course loads with many available time selections and faculty staff with many years of experience and qualifying abilities. The school is continuously upgrading and changing their facilities to more modern grounds and has a very diverse group of students. I was a proud student of Umass Lowell that saved money going to a state school and did not feel like I cheated myself of an education. Umass Lowell gave me equal opportunities in learning and gave me a great education that I believe was a better than some other colleges."

"The program at Umass Lowell was great, I learned a lot and definitely enjoyed the curriculum. I did also get a minor and psychology and I enjoyed that tremendously. I love the way that biology and psychology intertwine in certain aspects. I would possible pursue psychology as a degree if I were to do it over, but I think I would do a minor in biology as I still love science."

"UMass Lowell is a growing, vibrant campus with a lot to offer. They are constantly improving their buildings, improving their programs, and making efforts to help their students succeed. I think they had a lot to offer. Transportation between the campuses is sometimes difficult, and requires careful class scheduling. The dorms were somewhat old, but I know they've done tons of renovation work since I stopped living on campus. My biggest complaint is that my advisor was hard to get ahold of. Overall a great experience, I loved the UML and Lowell. Go Riverhawks!"

"When I attended UMASS: Lowell, I was living on South campus in the new Riverview building. I was initially weary of going to school in Lowell, for it's bad reputation, but on campus you forgot you were in Lowell. Most of the buildings were brand new, and almost all of my professors were helpful and wonderful. Students were open and outgoing, and I met many friends quickly. The only downside was my lack of career readiness. I was not pushed to do anything but sign up for classes, and that was a significant downfall when applying to graduate schools."

"UMASS Lowell is an ever-growing Academic Institution. When I first came, I hated it. However, as the years went on, myself and other students worked together to enhance the student experience. The food is not great, but what school has great food??? I would definitely recommend this university."

"UMass Lowell has two academic campuses (North and South) and has residence halls and apartments relatively close to the school. UMass Lowell recently built University Crossing, which is a hub of all student services in one building. You can go to the bookstore, stop at the Solution Center, hang out at Multicultural Affairs, get checked out at the Wellness Center, and more its so convenient and is a better system than what they had before. UMass Lowell also has a great hockey team so if you love hockey you would love it here, students really get into the games. UMass Lowell is also not a party school! I believe UMass Lowell puts a higher focus on professionalism and student leadership. Ive gained invaluable experiences in both areas. They stand by their mission of making sure students are work ready by the time they leave the institution. UMass Lowell is also surrounded by a bunch of great restaurants some of my favorites are Eggroll Caf near north campus and Mandarins and Life Alive in downtown Lowell. In downtown Lowell, you can find more restaurants and bars. A very popular bar that students attend is Smokehouse. There is also a great spiritual community on campus, we have many denominations present. Im Christian so I attended Christian Analytical Bible Study (CABS) and started attending services at the church they are affiliated within Lowell called Full Deliverance. You can find so many things to do in Lowell. Great time to be at the institution! My only negative feedback is the student body isn't as diverse as it could be but it is getting better they recently just accepted their most diverse class. Financial aid could also be better, this is partially UMass Lowell's fault and the UMass schools system fault. There were so many changes to my financial and with financial aid rules while I was attending that financial insecurity was a constant issue for me. So, that's just something to be aware make sure your financial aid package is sound and that you understand everything in it."

"I started college as a Biology major with a concentration in Biotechnology. I found out that I would much rather deal with people than try to memorize slides that did not help me study for exams. The sociology department is very supportive academically and see students as more than just an ID number. For practicums or Directed Studies in Senior year they allow to tailor your "study" with your interests. Overall the Sociology Department is great. However, the university as a whole is lacking in cultural diversity within students and professional staff. There are more representatives from LGTB community General in comparison to black students or black professionals. A solution should be cultural equity where every group receives the appropriate amount of representation and support through all sectors of the University."
