"The program offers a wide range of disciplines for students. The faculty are friendly and are truly there to help you. The city of Memphis May not be an ideal area, but it does have its positive aspects of you are willing to take the time to look."

"I think my specific graduate program is fantastic. The professors are involved, supportive, and push each of us to do better every semester. I do, however, have a huge issue with the politics of the University itself. It seems that the priority is to run the place like a business, rather than an institution of higher education. It has been advertised that the University of Memphis did not raise tuition fees (which they did not). This has been at the cost of jobs and program funding, which is reckless and even amoral. I specifically chose this program so I would graduate with two years of teaching experience, but because of budget cuts, I have yet to teach a class or receive assistantships of any kind. If the model here is business, then I should expect to receive better customer service. This is not to speak ill of my program. My professors are aware of my situation and have helped me find scholarships and other opportunities to lighten my financial burden, and they truly care about my career as an artist. Their own work is incredible, and I am surrounded by peers and mentors who truly heighten the quality of my artistic education."

"Our school offers the opportunity for graduate level degrees at a relatively competitive cost for this area, however it lacks the means or will to give full backing to graduate students. It lacks greatly in Library support, adequate funding to offset cost of living, and a network of support for graduate students navigating through programs."

"The graduate program at the University of Memphis is very thorough. The teachers genuinely care and do everything necessary for students to succeed. There are outside resources on campus that are available for extra help with educational and personal concerns."

"I feel very positively about my school. They have many opportunities for graduate assistantships and grants to help supplement tuition. I wasn't expecting that, and since I'm from out of state it is tremendously helpful."

"I really enjoy the program. It is my first semester and I feel right at home. The professors are highly experienced but they do not treat you like you're any less because you are just starting out - its very professional and respectful. Most of the professors are a lot of fun, too and keep their doors pretty open to students coming to talk. The workload is graduate-level but not crazy. I wish there were more financial aid options for people pursing a masters in Counseling though. There's literally no scholarships available to us!"

"The campus is very update to date. The school union sponsors several events a month. There is a strong school spirit. I feel the professors are not fully engaged in helping incoming freshmen/graduate students. However the faculty (secretaries for example) take up the slack."

"The school counseling program at the University of Memphis is highly regarded both in and beyond our Memphis community. I have great relationships with my professors, a course load that is challenging, and friends that will turn into cohorts. I just finished my first year (with a 4.0 GPA) and I already feel that I have obtained invaluable skills and knowledge. To be honest, the only negative thing I could even say about this program is that it is very costly. That speak more to me than it does to the program. I only work part time and I am currently planning a weddings, so the cost of this program weighs heavily on me. But you know what they say, "You pay for what you get.""

"The University of Memphis, specifically its Professional MBA program is one of the best in the nation. In the heart of the city, this University has made great efforts to connect with many of the leading business leaders in the community. With relationships with companies such as FedEx, International Paper, Autozone, Smith & Nephew, etc., the University of Memphis offers great opportunities for its students. Graduates and current students alike have the opportunity to gain internships and professional positions across a wide variety of corporations in this city, and elsewhere. With a competitive curriculum and highly educated faculty, this was one of the best choices I've made regarding my academic career."

"I am in the MFA program for Creative Writing, which is housed in the English Department. We have a top notch faculty but the program is understaffed, making access to faculty a problem. Courses are all excellent but with more faculty there could be more variety in the choice of courses."

"I have enjoyed my experience as a MBA student at the U of M. Overall, I am satisfied with the quality of classes as well as the teaching styles of my professors. I wish there was more emphasis on how to best work in teams. While there is a lot of team work, several of my teammates have not been up to graduate level in my opinion. The campus is very nice, and I like that the university is a college within a city as opposed to a college town. I think this really helps with networking. I have really enjoyed my time at the University of Memphis and would recommend it!"
