"To be clear, I am reviewing the Communication Sciences and Disorders program at the University of Memphis. This is a wonderful program for students with varying interests, from fluency to voice disorders, from speech science to linguistics. The clinical masters program is under two years long for students with a communication sciences and disorders undergraduate degree, and is exactly two years for students without background. The program allows for copious hands on experience, both clinical and research experience. Doctoral students have pretty much free reign over their program, allowing for multidisciplinary studies. The faculty is very friendly and very willing to help students. Overall, a great program."

"We have a knowledgeable and supportivy faculty and an exellent community feel. Graduate housing is a bit pricy with alot of restrictions and the internet is slow and somewhat unreliable. We have a nice library and the main campus is great. There is a shuttle to get around campus and between main and south campus which is free and very convienient for non-drivers. The application dates for financial aid are very early, due months before you find out if your accepted. The financial aid and scholarship offices are also geared more toward helping undergraduates so if you don't get an assistanceship with your department your on your own to try and find financial aid and scholarship oppertunities. Employment options are also not that great in the surrounding area for those who don't drive."

"The Loewenberg School of Nursing Graduate program is highly competitive, but allows the flexibility to complete while having a life. I highly recommend this program for those who are academically successful and self-motivated!"

"I felt that the program was not as rigorous as it may be in some schools, but I did earn my Master's degree."

"One major con of my program is that the classes are only offered at night. Other programs do have day classes. I like how the school is moving towards putting more classes on-line."

"I love the program and the faculty at the University of Memphis. The environment can be challenging but very rewarding. If you work hard you can achieve greatness! Compared to other cities, Memphis is a very affordable place to live with lots of friendly people and lots of sun!"

"There are a lot of graduate research opportunities available for chemistry at the University of Memphis. Students can get involved in computational, organic synthesis, biochemistry, alternative fuels, analytical, and more. The faculty are very knowledgeable. There are several upper level classes available for most of the concentrations, but analytical chemistry (my conc.) only has a couple. The campus feels very safe; the surrounding area south of campus, however, does not."

"Mostly, teacher is kind and exam is not tough, so it is easy to earn a degree, but it takes much extra efforts to master what you suppose to learn."

"The science department lacks money to buy proper equipment and facilities. Many of the computers and the machines that we use are very out dated. They often break and they extend the time required for a reaction. For example, an experiment that should only take a few hours of our time using an updated system, requires 7 to 8 days with the outdated version. There have often been times where we stay in the lab very late sometimes having to sleep there. In addition, the science program is not even rated among other schools. Many of the professors care more about their research and having you as a worker than actually teaching you. For this reason, we are not allowed to graduate with only a master's degree. And, also many of the students whom graduate from the chemistry program are only able to obtain a career as a high school science teacher."
