"I was an online student through UNK for 2 semesters. I did not feel any sort of academic support during my time as a UNK student. Professors, advisors, and other staff all seemed cold and unhelpful. I strongly recommend going elsewhere. I had to switch back to my old college where I’m happily finishing my MA degree."

"Financial aid needs to learn to communicate. I was misinformed so many times, I'm looking to finish my master's elsewhere because of financial aid! Professors were mostly good. Some were terrible about grading in a decent time. Some liked to put words in your mouth when what you wrote about was IN THE MATERIAL THEY GAVE US!!!!!!!!!!! Some also tested us on stuff that didn't matter to the class."

"If you want to be a pilot, this is not the place for you. The current director does not understand the process of becoming an airline pilot. There is no way you can graduate and become an airline pilot. To become an airline pilot, you need to earn flight hours, but the current director doesn't care about that. He doesn't understand the necessary process at all. Ground school is 141 here, but flight training is 61, which is not recommended. There is no need to do any flight training here at all. This is definitely not recommended for international students who want to become pilots. UNK is no longer able to make your dreams come true, so look for another university to study aviation."

"The University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) is a great undergraduate program. The instructors are good at their jobs and actually care about their students. There are numerous opportunities for students to participate in research in any subject. All different kinds of intramural sports and student organizations. The college of science is well organized with very passionate professors. The science building is relatively new and constantly updated. There is a new computer science building being built, new dorms, new student health facility, and a newly renovated student union. The town of Kearney is also a wonderful place to live. The size is about 30,000 people and growing. Depending on where youre from, Kearney might feel big or small. It has all the perks of a big city with small city living. The people are nice, the healthcare is great, there are many awesome restaurants, a nice movie theater and mall, and so much more. I highly recommend UNK to anyone looking for a quality education and a place to discover who they truly are and strive to become."

"UNK is an excellent school for the biological and physical sciences. My experience there was excellent, with small class sizes at the upper level classes, good instructor availability, and helpful advisors. Since my academic time spent on campus, I know major renovations have been made to most of the science buildings, which minimize my only complaint: old facilities. There are a really good selection of classes, the teachers are genuinely invested in their students, and research is supported and nurtured. I also think that the town surroundings of Kearney helped my experience tremendously. It is a small town, a safe campus, and security is good. Parking is reasonable and doesnt require a second mortgage to obtain. Additionally, as a biology major, you cannot ask for more than to be located in such a unique ecological location: the Platte river with the Sandhills Crane sanctuary, native parties, and Nebraska Sandhills are all right there."

"The University of Nebraska at Kearney has been an amazing adventure for me to further my academic learning. I have gained so much from my fellow classmates and professors of the communication disorder department. The professors at the University of Nebraska at Kearney work diligently to provide an education that accommodates to all students strengths while still challenging them. The majority of our classes are blended witch means that academic work is done both in class with the professor and online by yourself. In my opinion, this makes it easier to balance both school and work schedules. The professors at the University of Nebraska at Kearney also make sure to prepare the undergraduate students for not only graduate programs but for future endeavors. With that being said, we are required to have so many observation hours and participate in many projects where we practice testing other classmates on their speech and language with the multiple speech, language, articulation, and comprehension tests provided. As you can see, I am proud to say that I have earned my education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and hope to further my education by also receiving my master's degree at the University of Nebraska at Kearney."

"The program is not as advertised. The Online Master's in Biology was advertised to me as a working persons degree program. There is a tremendous amount of focus on "busy work", such as discussions, that are run by students and not the professors. There was very little feedback on these discussions and one is always left wondering if the information posted was accurate since the professors did not weigh in or lead the discussions. There were several times when students posted incorrect information or there were competing ideas with no final word on what was accurate. The program is highly based on research, reading papers, busy work, and offered very little practical knowledge or skills. If you did the "busy work" and participated you could get a B in most classes without actually gaining much knowledge or understanding. The information presented was mostly based on regurgitating that information back for a grade without understanding mechanisms or how to apply that knowledge in a practical way. If you are wanting to go into a practical job and not into academics, choose another program."

"I began attending UNK in 2010. During the four years of my undergraduate study, my experience was incomparable. This institution is extremely welcoming. The campus has a clean, fresh feel to it. I felt very comfortable and very much a part of my program and classes at UNK. The education I received at UNK allowed me to land my dream job and it is something I am grateful for every day. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree from UNK and again, the graduate education I am receiving is invaluable. The Kearney community, along with the university is a wonderful thing to be a part of and I get to do it everyday!"

Activities on campus make you academically and socially prepared for a career life after school. You are always encouraged to assume a leadership role in whatever group/class project you are given and this instill responsibilities on all members and no one is a dead weight."

"The University of Nebraska at Kearney, Social Work program is the best I've seen. It keeps you involved with the community with volunteering and the classes give you a good idea of what your strengths are and what you could possibly wanna do in the future. The professors are very helpful when finding scholarships and just helpful trying to help you figure out the right path for you to go on based on your interest."

"University of Nebraska at Kearney's Exercise Science Master's Program is top notch. It's a small enough school where you can get to know the professors personally, which they love, yet large enough where there is a ton of different activities to get involved with. They challenge you in a way that your undergrad degree might not have and expect a lot out of their graduate students. The professors give you more independence while doing your work but love that they can be their to mentor you through the program and be there for any questions you might have. Overall, great program and highly recommended!"

"I am still currently in college and it is my first year here at Kearney. Overall, it's a great school and I like it. It has nice upperclassmen dorms, a good cafeteria, and the classes are great. The professors know you by name and are willing to help. My mistake for the first semester was taking classes that are too hard for me, so my advice is don't be afraid to ask questions about the class so then you can make sure it is in your capability."

"UNK is a great college experience. The classes are perfect sized and the professors really care about your education. Also, there are a lot of resources available to every student, that is included in the cost of tuition. If you utilize these resources, there is no doubt that you will have a great college experience and pass all your classes."

"I completed my Bachelor's degree from UNK with nothing short of great role models as professors. They were there to help out along the way and assisted with any issues that may have come about. I am currently going back to continue my education. I am working on my Master's degree of Reading PK-12 which is online base through UNK. I have taken many online courses through UNK and I believe that it seems like I am just sitting in the classroom when working on these courses. I would highly recommend UNK for either undergraduate or graduate students who are looking to continue their education! Go Lopers!"

"As a non-American citizen, without help from student affair professionals, I would not be able to study abroad and to have such a beautiful experience here in the States. Being helped by them makes me want to help others by becoming a student affairs professional. The first of the the three things that I hope to gain from the student affairs program in UNK is to understand the American college educational system further. The second thing I want to learn is how to analyze demand and supply in the job market related to majors for the benefit of students. The third thing I want to do is improve my interpersonal skills so I can better present opportunities to potential students. Understanding the American College Educational System-----There are many different kinds of skyscrapers in the world. They all have different shapes and styles. They all hold one thing in common, and that is the foundation. Without a firm and well-organized foundation, no building would be able to hold still. The education system is like the foundation of building; understanding the system is the very first step to take for being an outstanding student affairs professional. The system includes how student enrollment works. How the processes of recruitment works. How government affects the recruitment through immigration policy for international students. All of these regulations, rules and restrictions must be understood in order for me to set a right direction for further moves. Learning How to Analysis Demands and Supplies at Job Markets Related to Majors that Work for Each Individual----Once the foundation is built, knowing what materials that are needed for construction will be the next step. Analysis demands and supplies related the majors will be the process of choosing the right materials in this analogy. To find a better career is the reason for most students to attend college. Setting up an appropriate major becomes very essential for students. How to understand student's preferences, to know the advantages of students, and to understand the trend of job markets are keys for choosing a better customized major for students and will keep them on the right track. Learning Interpersonal Skills for Presenting Opportunities to Potential Students----Now that we have the foundation set and materials have been chosen the last step is to use the appropriate skills to stack the concrete and the steel for finishing the building. That is where the interpersonal skills take place. The interpersonal skill is a very significant soft skill that can change the whole key of any melody. As a student affairs profession, once the whole blue-print has been made the presentation will take place to make the blue-print work. Communication skills are the most important skills; saying the right thing at the right time; providing the right amount of information; knowing how to take control and etc. are the skills that I hope to gain from taking the program. Overall, these are the three things that I want to gain from the program."
