"Its a great program. We start our clinical work really early. We start seeing real patients our second years vs other schools, which probably start their third years. It's a relatively new and small school but the faculty are all very knowledgeable and we learn a lot both didactically and from hands on."

"The M.Ed. TESOL program at UNLV provides students with the pertinent tools to become an effective teacher to both English language learners as well as native speakers who struggle in the classroom. Nevertheless, be prepared to have classmates who may not be as passionate as you since some are only there to get their TESOL certification and are not really serious about learning from the class. My tip for those interested in this program is not to focus on the type of classmates you have but on your noble goal of becoming an effective teacher. In fact, if you let your passion drive your learning, it does not really matter if the people around you are negative; the most important thing is you can be that one person that could find out the best way to teach English either as a second language or a first language for struggling native speakers. Lastly, being a teacher is a not just a job; it's a vocation you can be proud about."

"Went to UNLV for undergraduate and now for Dental School. Love this school and the opportunities to become a great dentist. No matter what your interests are, they harbor it beyond what I expected."

"I love my program. It is a CACREP certified counseling program which gives me confidence that I will be a step ahead of the competition when I hit the work force. I don't have any cons. The program is hard work, but it's graduate school. That's to be expected."

"The faculty are for the most part very active and approachable. Sometimes the neighborhood surrounding the campus does distract from learning, with construction noise as well as a large homeless population. It is not the most competitive program with class sizes that average about 6 students, but it is the same education you would get anywhere else if you stay involved in research."

"The graduate program at UNLV in the field of Higher Education is excellent! The instructors are experts in the field and truly dedicated to facilitating growth intellectually and personally. One con would be that the program was restructured a few years ago , so the program is in a rebuilding phase."

"I love the faculty here at UNLV, they are always available to help with questions, with research, with thesis, etc. They also provide many opportunities for every student to get involved and take control of their own learning process. I have enjoyed my time here as a student"

"I went on a campus tour with our professor N. B. and it was wonderful. The campus offers a lot for us. A great workout physicality, a huge student union with good food, and game rooms. We also will be sharing a floor with the film department. The film students will need us, among other actors for their scenes in classes and some of their outside work. Many film students get the opportunity to travel to Sundance. We work out of three Theatre's that they will give us access cards and keys to. We are across the hall from the dance studios and upstairs is our music classes. This campus is amazing and we will not be bored."

"It seemed a bit easier than should be expected. Don't get me wrong, some classes were quite hard, but some of the classes just felt like a complete waste of my time and money."

"The pros include an extensive alumni network in the Las Vegas area. The law school also has a top-rated legal writing program. The biggest problem with the institution is that the school does not have a large network outside of the southwest region of the United States. I would like to move to Illinois when I graduate, but I think I may have trouble finding a job."

"The doctor of physical therapy program at UNLV is extremely competetive. Of the 20 schools in the west that I looked out UNLV is one of the most affordable. They have a 100% pass rate on the state licensing exam and a 98% first time pass rate on this exam. This puts them in the top 10% in the nation."

"*There are several programs at UNLV, but I am only reviewing specifically for the engineering college where I did undergraduate and graduate studies. The cons mostly pertain to the university itself. It is in a poor neighborhood, and the college of engineering is on the other side of campus to where all of the action is (student union, greek stuff, restaurants, the book store, the main parking lot, etc). If a student never ventures to the other side of campus they might miss whats happening. The pros are that the faculty in the engineering department care about what they are doing and their students. There are plenty of research opportunities available and a state of the art research building. The engineering students have access to their own computer labs and a nearby parking garage for convenience."
