"I enjoyed my time at the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama greatly! My time with the Social Work Department was wonderful! All of the department faculty and staff were always helpful, offered great communication, education, as well as preparation for opportunities post-graduation. All of the staff were more than helpful when looking for help with assignments, internships, and career opportunities. Each professor made a point to ensure that each student had individual assistance for any particular situation. I highly recommend this university for the educational standards, faculty, campus community and administrative assistance that is available. During my time at the University of North Alabama, I also had involvement with other departments and I can only offer positive reviews as well. The university also offers aid in financial assistance information, career services, and disability services. All of these services offer great aid for those with interest throughout the semester. There is also a student success center that can help with tutoring, jobs, campus involvement, advisement and various other questions or concerns. While I was taking classes to accomplish the basic core classes, most of the faculty were helpful and offered any assistance if it was sought for. I took online, in-person, and hybrid classes at this university. I had a great experience with each one and I have also had great interest in the current shift and increased amount of hybrid and online classes. If you are an individual that is interested in campus life or living on campus, I have heard great reviews of that as well. There are many clubs and organizations at the university that have a heavy involvement within the community. I never lived on campus, but I did have friends that did and they had a satisfactory experience with this."

"The University of North Alabama is a well-known university for producing educators. In its early years, it was known as Florence State Teachers College. That reputation has not regressed at all. The level of education at the university is comparable to any major state school. The community atmosphere fosters a sense of intimacy and the faculty's accessibility makes the learning process effective and meaningful. The amount of schools in the area make observing and working with educators in the field easy and impactful. The experience that I had at UNA prepared me for my career and gave me an unforgettable college experience."

"The University of North Alabama is a great school and has a wonderful social work program. The beautiful campus and surrounding town's home-like environment make studying more enjoyable. The University of North Alabama's student services are very helpful and reduce the stress of the work load. The social work program encourages and challenges students to give their best efforts. There are some of the professors in program that seem to not have the students' best interest in mind, but overall the staff and program are generally helpful."

Not only is the campus beautiful, but the whole city of Florence loves college kids and makes it a really homey college to attend. "The University of North Alabama is known for Education and Nursing; however, the Social Work program that the school offers is phenomenal. The teachers assist, teach, and personalize the classroom as the students learn and participate in class as well as hands-on experiences throughout each semester. It is definitely a lot of hard work, but the professors are there to support and build the foundation for our future careers. The professors have no issue with meeting with the students in order to get a better understanding on the material. The classes are extremely educational and role plays were done in order to experience how situations could either be good or bad; there was not a class that was not enjoyed. It taught the students insight on how different people work and how important it is to build positive relationships with the people. The best part was the hands-on experience; interacting with diverse individuals and getting to do several different volunteer work was eye-opening for the plethora of possibilities and career choices that social work has to offer."

"I loved the campus. The teacher to student ratio is good. However, the lack of communication between university officials and students is an on going problem."

"This MA in education degree was a waste of money. I have over $60,000 in student loans. It was not worth the money to have an advanced degree in education. I even ended up not teaching more than a year because it was so hard to find a job. I am in college for a MSW, something that will be much more useful."

"The support within this program is amazing; professors and other graduate students are always available to help, and the social nature of the program is a tremendous help when the workload gets heavy. I am only in my first year in this program, but I know I will always remember it."
