Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2001

I loved my experience at UNCC. All staff are professional. The campus is beautiful. The faculty are easy to access if needed. I also participated in sports while I was there. The athletic programs take care of their athletes. I would not trade my college experience for the world.

Degree: Biology
Graduation Year: 2011

I already have a degree and I wanted to returned to school for another so I thought i would use Kaplan to prepare me. Mistake... I was not able to take the course when I signed up to because my car was stolen. So Kaplan lead me to believe that i could retake it later. So I get my life together and they are not willing to work with me at all because my course expired. I full paid for my course and did not get to take it. All that to say RUN they're just into making money.

Degree: Biology
Graduation Year: 2017

The campus is ever-growing and has changed a lot since I began here in 2011. The biology department is finally expanding which allows for students to get into classes easier. I had so much trouble finding classes to register for that would count towards my degree.

Degree: Music Teacher Education
Graduation Year: 2008

For music, UNC Charlotte was a great fit for my needs. The campus is beautiful and with the campus so close to other cultural centers and amenities, I was never bored. The addition of the light-rail is an even bigger plus. The professors were very helpful. A plus.

Degree: German Studies
Graduation Year: 2015

UNC Charlotte is what you make of it. It is a first-choice school for many local students of engineering, computer science, and nursing, but it provided me an excellent education in something completely unrelated: International Studies and German. A little-known fact about the university is that it hires many skilled instructors of foreign languages and offers an impressive array of them. There are also many opportunities to study abroad and scholarships to help students do so. While catering mostly to students from the surrounding area, there is also a surprisingly substantial international population, which makes for an interesting and diverse student body. However, it takes a bit more effort than normal to seek out a friend group, as the school is notoriously comprised of commuter students still living with their parents. Campus turns into a ghost town on weekends. Ironically, I made hardly any friends until I moved out of the dorm and into an off-campus apartment. The university does recognize this, though, and is making efforts to build a greater sense of community among the students. Despite this drawback, I received a quality education and memorable experience at UNC Charlotte.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2014

I adored the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The environment, diversity, and program options were excellent. I actually enjoyed going to classes every day. There were a great variety of courses and topics you could choose to take. Registration was a little tricky, you had to have everything planned out and register as soon as your assigned time began.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2014

My experience at UNCC was very rewarding. Every professor I had encouraged me to expand my knowledge and think outside the box. I received this treated with professors in my major Psychology and my two minors, Dance and Biology. Specifically, one of my professors in the dance department encouraged me to study abroad with her and other students in Italy one summer. It was extremely eye opening and I cannot thank her enough for supporting my dreams and always pursuing me to expand my education in unique ways! The years I spent at UNCC helped me become a cultured, creative, and professional adult!

Degree: International Business
Graduation Year: 2015

I would recommend UNC Charlotte for anyone who is looking to receive a degree in Business. The Belk College of Business had challenging, but effective courses. I graduated with a bachelor of international business and minor in Italian. I was able to study abroad for a semester in Italy and graduate on time. During orientation you are given a guide to what classes you need to take each semester to stay on course. Every semester I met with my counselor to see if I was heading in the right direction. This is what set me apart from students who had trouble getting into the classes. I would recommend looking up all classes and professors before you enroll. Business is not for everyone, so you need to be willing to put in hard work. My favorite class was Business Practices and Policies. This class consisted of real life examples of business conflicts and learning the strategies to solve imperative issues in todays work place. Each week the class would be separated into groups and were given different debates. This was the most beneficial part of my education as it forced students into thinking outside of their own opinions. I have used this skill in the work place post graduation. I left UNCC with a job offer in New Jersey an international importer. UNC Charlotte gave me the tools to further pursue my education. I will be attending graduate school for a Masters of International Business in London.

Degree: Political Science
Graduation Year: 2006

UNC Charlotte prepared me for law school. The school is a robust urban research university that could really use the shedding of its commuter school image. Campus is beautiful and there are lots of activities - organized and otherwise - to do during the week and on the weekend. I got a good education with professors who cared and prepared me for law school.
