"I attended OUHSC, but specifically OUHSC Tulsa campus. If you live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and want to become an occupational therapist, this is your best bet. But if you don't already live here, don't come here just for this school. I was fortunate enough to pay in-state tuition (although I had to fight for it), but this would definitely not have been worth the out-of-state tuition. Classes are often taught in OKC and you watch in Tulsa via a video camera. You can press a microphone to ask questions of the professor, but there are frequent technology issues like calls dropping, the professor's microphone not working, etc, and even on the best of days you feel very estranged from the professors. Occasional classes are taught by professors in Tulsa and then the OKC students watch on a camera on their end, but I would say 3/4 of the classes are taught in OKC and watched by Tulsa vs 1/4 being taught in Tulsa and watched by OKC. The classes are often combined with physical therapy students and when they are, are very PT-centric. However, there are only one or two professors who regularly teach the OT-specific classes, and the quality of their teaching, at least for the years I was there, was very poor. I often occupied myself with something else during class and read the source material on my own time, and did fine in all my classes in this way. Even if I didn't feel like I was getting anything out of class, I was required to be in class every time and no absences were allowed. Furthermore, I am interested in pediatrics and there was only 1 pediatric class4 credit hours out of an 80 credit hour program. The school is extremely non-diverse. My graduating class of OTs includes 1 male student and 31 females. Of the 31 females, 1 is Black, 1 is Asian-American, and the remainder are white. To some extent, this is a pitfall of all occupational therapy programs, because the field is not nearly as diverse as it should be. If I could do it over again, I might seek a different occupational therapy program. As it is, I'm just happy that I'm nearly done. If I could do it over again, I would definitely, at very least, want to attend a school where I was in the same room as my professors."

"The OU-OKC PA program has been through some big changes within the past couple years and I think it is all for the better. Seeing the improvements, the passion in each staff member makes me excited to continue my education. I look forward to the next couple of years and I cannot wait to see what else we can accomplish."

"I am very proud of my bachelor's degree from OUHSC. I often brag on education because it was one of the best times of my life. I have so much opportunity with my BSN, the possibilities are endless. I felt very prepared to hit the floor running after passing my boards on the first try. I would absolutely recommend OUHSC to any of my friends, they truly care for your future and are there to guide you to succeed."

"Most of the professors are ready to help with any questions, and they are easily accessible outside of the classroom. They are knowledgeable and willing to share everything they know about physical therapy. I am enjoying the program even though it is extremely challenging, and I feel the professors will do everything they can to help me succeed."

"With our curriculum, they prepare students exceedingly well for their step exams.Starting our first year our final exams are questions from the NBME, giving us an early look and feel of our step exams. The class is extremely supportive of each other, and everyone wants everyone else to succeed. The professors are phenomenal, and are truly there because they love to teach and interact with students. From day one we are also learning and practicing clinical skills. With our top of the nation clinical skills center, we definitely shine through not only academically to our future work places, but also socially and professionally to our future patients."

"The speech language pathology program at OUHSC is extremely challenging, fast-paced and jam-packed with so much information and practical clinical experience. You are provided with patient contact in the very first semester and it never lets up. The ability to multitask and change tracks quickly is a must for this program but it is totally worth all the hard work it demands!"
