The University of Phoenix is the perfect solution for the non-traditional who wants to go back to school but has other commitments in life. The flexibility of the program, course choices, scheduling, etc. made it possible for me to work full-time, raise a family, take care of ailing, aging parents, and earn a degree. The learning teams gave me an opportunity to make lifelong friends while learning the importance of collaboration and diversity. Because all of the instructors also work in the field... Read More

I thought that this university was not credible and I was scared that a job would not recognize a degree from this institute as good, however I have not had that issue. This school is great for those who like me had a family but also needed to work. Online classes are difficult and it takes a person who is self motivated to complete an online degree.

When I decided to obtain my Bachelors degree from the University of Phoenix, I was excited and nervous. However when I met with the campus student advisor he was friendly and patient while I asked a ton of questions. That was the last time I was pleased with my experience, as shortly thereafter he was no longer with the school, and I was not informed ahead of time. During my four years of attendance, the academic and financial advisor turnover was substantial and we were never informed about the... Read More

By attending UoP, I was able to work full-time and attain my degree. I had a very good experience and had no issues with getting feedback or clarification on anything that I did not understand from any of my instructors. If you are dedicated and a self-starter, you should have no problems with your courses. I walked across the stage in July of 2008 and it was a great day for me. I was happy to be able to attend school and work full-time because I am a single parent.

University of Phoenix is expensive if you are out-of-state, and a little on the expensive side for in-state tuition. Be mindful of that. In addition, if you take online classes like me, they aren't the same as in class courses. It's work at your own pace, but there are deadlines, mandatory assignments, team projects, and projects that have to be done as part of their accredited coursework to get your degree. Also, it's not really mentioned in depth, but online courses are best suited for people already... Read More

I joined UoPX for the chance to use military and real world experience toward my degree. I have received an AA in business from UoPX, and I am now currently completing my BS with a concentration in HR. UoPX allowed me to transfer many of my previous college credits, as well as receive credit for my military experience. They give a discounted rate to individuals currently serving in the military, and they have taken care of everything in order for me to utilize my G.I. Bill benefits. I think some... Read More

Hello- So after reading some of the reviews regarding Phoenix; I decided to chime in and give my feedback. First, its sad to hear that others have had such a bad experience with Phoenix. I personally have enjoyed the program and have enjoyed the support from my Academic Counselor and my Financial Adviser. Whenever I have a question they are there to answer. They are very prompt with returning phone calls and emails. My financial adviser is always available to answer questions regarding my tuition.... Read More

I attended 100% of my classes w/UOP online. I have recently graduated and I have to say some of the classes were hard, but it was worth it. My academic and financial counselors were great to work with, and some of the instructors were better than others. I would recommend UOP to anyone who doesn't have the time to walk into a traditional classroom. If you can dream it, you can achieve it - I did!
