"The degree helped me to advance in my career, not because of the knowledge that I gained, but because of the actual piece of paper. Employers are still entirely focused on what degrees a candidate has, instead of their actual productivity, experience, creativity, and willingness to learn. What a shame. Well, I played the game, spent the money (took 10 years to pay off the student loans) and it led to employers actually considering me for a job. I learned way more on the job than in this school. The worst part was the rampant plagiarism by several of the other students. There were at least two or three in each class that would copy/paste responses verbatim from a google search. I had to be the one to point this out to the instructors and the students would remain in the class, even though they didn't do their own work. I reported it to my academic counselors who told me that they were following up, couldn't tell me the outcome due to confidentiality, but I would see the students again in later classes. I documented it very clearly, which links to their source and how their answers were not their own. UOP just wants your money. They don't care about an actual education. After four classes went by with the same behavior, I just gave up and quit complaining. I would merely post snarky responses to the offending students asking, "what's your source of information", or, "wow - you seem to know a lot about [topic] for being a BSIT student! Do you work in that field?" Their responses were incredibly lame. Instructors didn't even notice or care."

"Let me first state that I am still currently enrolled in UOP online. With that being said, I am disgusted by the way this college runs its financial aid department. This is really the only issue that I have had since I have been enrolled in online courses. I have been going here for 2 years now and have had to take 4 (5 week) LOA's because of the incompetence of the financial aid office. If you would like to receive your financial aid 4 months after you are supposed to and enjoy filling out paperwork that you're not supposed to, then this is the college for you. I spoke with an old teacher that I had in High School that now works in the financial aid department at a college near me, and he stated that the paperwork that I was being forced to fill out was the responsibility of the college and not the student. I would never recommend taking online courses here. It has literally been 6 months since I completed all of the "required" paperwork and I have yet to receive a cent of financial aid for this semester. PURE NONSENSE."

"The University of Phoenix is the perfect school for an adult who is pursuing higher education but does not have the time to attend the conventional school. Because of the global demand for technology online is a great place to learn the use of technology for group chat and team meetings. The different time zones in the class and team setting give a real-life feel for the real world, especially when dealing with overseas countries to conduct business. The experience was great and the staff were very helpful and made sure you were prepared for success. The facility feedback was on point and in a timely manner for the turn submission in the next week. Please make sure you read all communication and all documents that you are required to sign because it is your responsibility, I learned that the hard way, but it just made me a better person. The great thing is the app so you can stay informed and submit from your phone, very friendly app. I am also getting my Ph.D. from the school, oh the library is awesome it has everything you need the website is full of resources to help the student to be successful. There are different school campuses in different states and online student can access resources when needed or attend graduation or conduct research. Overall I am having a great experience and I am proud to be a Phoenix still soaring toward my doctorate degree, so do your research before you register."

"I enjoyed the school; there's a lot of material and if you're willing to push yourself you will do fine here. Some students do not give 100%. The specializations are helpful, and all of the courses align with industry standards (such as several CompTIA and Oracle exams). Down side- students aren't required to complete all of the course material. I work in the software field and the program has helped improve my work performance, helped me get a promotion, and has paved the way for a great career. Advice to future students - give 150%, hard work pays off."

"I had a great experience at UoP. I filled out a form to get more info and had someone contact me. He did not give up on having me sign up. Some people would call it pushy but I don't. If he had not been persistent I probably would not have followed through and not have the wonderful job I have now because I got my bachelor's. Online schooling is not for everyone. You need to be motivated to keep going. I had two jobs and would definitely not feel like doing school work until 2 am but I did it. I have read reviews about indifferent faculty. This is college, you are supposed to be an adult. You shouldn't need a person on you 24/7 to do your work. I have UoP to thank for where I am now!"

"Being active duty military my time is limited, and like anyone else who is taking time to work on a degree while fully employed or raising a family you have little time to spare.... I am utterly appalled by UOP and how they are handling their finance department. I can not explain without rambling on at this point about how disappointed I am with them and how they've managed my money and wasted my time, two very valuable things. I use to recommend UOP to my shipmates in the military and even considered myself a unofficial sponsor until their finance department and their system changed. Now they can not even correct a tuition issue with for a military member without having to waste hours trying to solve something that should be simple for a finance issue. In the military we have a saying that the admin's like to use as a joke "It's the members responsibility" well UOP does not make it easy on you to manage your own money. You have to make follow ups and they won't tell you when something is wrong or something needs to get resent. I do not recommend UOP anymore to my shipmates or to anyone. Good job UOP."

"I graduated from UOP in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in IT. That degree helped me obtain a great IT position in management. Fast forward many years later, I signed up for their online MBA program because of the wonderful experience I had as an undergrad, and the fact that their MBA program will definitely allow me to grow professionally. This school is fantastic and I have nothing but great praise for them. Their B.S. program was amazing and I was able to apply what I learned in class to real world scenarios. I am so excited to be starting their MBA program because I know the experience will be the same. Disregard the negative comments about this Univeristy, it's a wonderful college!!"

"Well I'm not surprised after finding this website and seeing all the complaints about this school. I have to agree with most people posting on here that The University of Phoenix only cares about how much money they can squeeze out of their students. What happened to me was I started to take a math class that I wasn't to familiar with, so I asked my counselor if I could take the class at the end giving me time to do some workshops building up some skills before taking the class again. I dropped the class in the middle of the first week and was told that it wasn't an issue and no financial impact would occur, well that was a lie! I started to get calls from the school stating I owe them 250 dollars for the first week of the math class since my student loan was returned. After explaining to them what I was told they just blew me off and insisted on paying them the money and that If I didn't they would not be able to enroll me in future classes. Now it has been turned over to a collections agency which harass me everyday!! I will not be returning to this crap school and do not recommend anyone to attend either."

"UoP was a great experience and allowed me to start a career in IT. I wouldn't recommend this school to everyone nor any school. There is no hand holding, no babying, and no excuses. You are given assignments, due dates, and all the proper material to perform. It is completely up to you whether you succeed or fail. I saw loads of people wash out. So, this is definitely not a pay for your degree, no work institution. The lessons taught have been applicable to my career each day. One of the most valuable lessons is to be self reliant, perform proper research, and then apply critical thinking with all that information in order to solve an issue. I would rate this a great experience, but I would warn anyone not willing to put in the amount of time required and apply themselves properly; then it is a waste of time."
