This online educational learning program gave me utmost respect to the online learning programs. To elaborate more on this online programs, I reside in American Samoa. This is a country that do not have access to Universities. I received my Masters in the University of Phoenix through their online program. I am thankful for online programs that we have a chance to work at the same time while attending college. And most of all, it gives us in American Samoa a chance not to leave families while at... I received my MBA from University of Phoenix in 2013. That experience was very streamlined and I enjoyed the program. I recently decided that I would go back for my Master of Education this year. I was wrong, this has been the worst decision that I could have ever made. In their effort to become better, actually made it worst. From day one Ive had enrollment reps who were not well versed on the program they represent. Through my own research on google, I completed my enrollment requirements! Navigating... Read More

During my course of study I felt challenged, and my instructors provided great insight and feedback. However, I often question if my degree is taken as seriously as those from other colleges and universities because of University of Phoenix's reputation.

I went to the University of Phoenix (UOP) to become an elementary school. UOP taught the minimum of knowledge and skills. They do not prepare you for the tests (CSET, TPAs 1-4, or RICA) or teach you much on teaching. Because they do not give exams, there's no pressure for you to learn or study. I have finished all my courses in their master's program and received 3.83 GPA, but because I am having to learn reading skills for children on my own, I need to wait to take RICA. (Think about it, I finished... Read More

The University of Phoenix online was a great school and great program for me. I can't understand why some people here say that the teachers were not helpful. I received both a MA degree and a credential and NEVER had a teacher not do their job. They were extremely attentive, did what they were supposed to do, etc. I did more work for this degree than I did for my Bachelor's degree. The work is REAL and you read a lot and must do a lot of reports, power points, and group work.

I cannot begin to explain the atrocity that is University of Phoenix. Short and sweet, DO NOT ATTEND THIS "COLLEGE" it is a business, a business to steal your money and time. Just read the reviews on other sites and you will see a trend, these recent positive reviews are not at all true, because of the huge situation that is going on at the school right now. I am starving and out of money because of this place, they have delayed financial aid and claim it is a systems error yet, we (and I mean 95%... Read More

Completed my Master of Arts degree in 2006 at UOP online. Prior to enrolling, I did my homework. I have so sympathy for students who enroll in an online program in their desired field who then turn around later and blame the school for "tricking" them. I am talking about students who have student loan debt and complain that the degree is worthless because they cannot find a job. No University guarantees a job. You have to do your own footwork, your own networking. I am also talking about students... Read More

So I spent six months looking at schools both online and brick and morter. I have three children and I work as a substitute teacher nearly full time. I needed a school that would teach me what I wanted to know, and that would further my career as a teacher, without requiring me to spend all my time on campus. This school is regionally accredited and has contacts in my state to let me do my student teaching. I am about a third of the way done with my program and have had little to no trouble completing... The education was lackluster and this is a predatory school. I am a veteran and they have messed up the VA so much that somehow I have come out owning when ti should have been paid for. They have sent so many papers over to the VA that it has become a mess of accounts received and paid. The VA over paid the school and now I am accountable for the funds because mms school should have sent them to me? DO NOT TRUST THE UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX!!

Absolutely AWFUL experience. Professor had an MBA and no teaching experience, failed to appropriately and timely grade assignments. Treated terribly by UOP administration when bringing up the situation, the professor was terrible as well and completely unprofessional. Overall, a complete waste of money and I would NEVER recommend UOP to anyone.

I had a terrible experience with the University of Phoenix. The majority of the posts were repetitive, banal, and short. You really didn't have to think hard to have your post accepted. I ended up doing most of the essay work when my teammates dropped the ball. I waited almost a year for my first student teaching. They gave me a crazy psychotic lady. Serious, she was a math teacher who would have the students play soccer, basketball, and guitar hero. My student teaching also changed twice. The last... Read More

THIS SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE!!! I am a military vet and my classes were not paid. VA did not know I was in school because University of Phoenix FAILED to let them know Ii was enrolled in school. My undergraduate would send my transcripts to the email University of phoenix provided and they said that it never sent. University of phoenix kept encouraging me to continue classes with them but I was not getting paid!! DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!!!!

In a Master's Program. I was here on VA benefits. My benefits ran out in the middle of the program, although they said I was cleared. When I contacted them, THEY SAID IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE, but I am still responsible for the rest of tuition. Horrible institution. I was holding a 3.75 in a Master's Program, unable to finish.

Tell us about your college experience.

I loved everything about my experience, including the dreaded team work, which prepared me to work with a diverse group of people. I love how attentive my advisors were and my only complaint would be the cost, but I was able to find a job in my field before graduating and the online program allowed me to continue as a full-time student while I worked.

Would you get the same degree if you could start over?

I am happy with my degree choice and may consider another... Read More

What advice can you offer other students?

My adult daughter goes to a state university and although it is cheaper she does not have the kind of support from the advisors, financial assistance or even instructors that I had attending University of Phoenix, it is very different. If you are a student who may desire a more supportive team during your education you should definitely consider UOP!
