"I am about to leave USF and I highly recommend you do not go here for social work. The online program is incredibly sloppy and poorly designed, and every time we faced errors in the syllabus, our advisors and USF employees gaslit us and blamed the students. This is worse than a community college, save your money!"

"During orientation much emphasis was placed on the fact that it would only take four years to complete a Bachelor's degree at this university. This is Certainly not the case! It is difficult if not impossible to get into classes for your major as the cases fill up quickly and then are closed. This semester I was only able to get in one class. During academic advisement, I was told to try to get into additional classes during Add Drop week. The classes remained closed even a online class was closed! Therefore, if time restraints are an issue I would suggest attending another university."

"The professors in my actual program were absolutely wonderful. I learned so much and got so much hands on experience and upfront knowledge from so many of my teachers. My mentor was a post-doc under my Marine Ecosystems professor who also acted as a mentor to me and I even got to have my undergraduate research published from their help. I really grew as a scientist because of the scientists I met at USF. I was also a fairly popular Resident Assistant and Residence Life Mentor at one of the residence halls for 3 years and that really helped make my experience just golden. I helped bring back, flourish, and the Green Living Learning community which ended up receiving an award on the national level to congratulate our events and hard work. I also met the love of my life (as minor as a detail that is)! I think my only poor experience at USF were the academic advisors, I was actually quite close with one of them my freshman year but she moved to another department and my next 4 advisers were just absolutely horrible. They gave me poor suggestions on when to take classes and it ended up screwing me over my last semester senior year having to take 8 classes to graduate on time. When I asked them to prep for grad school and tips they just told me to call whatever school I was interested in and figure it out with them, so I had to figure out EVERYTHING about grad school on my own. Other than that I am proud to be a USF alum and I had a really awesome 4 years there."

"My professors have all seemed to care about my evolution as a student through their courses. I have never had trouble making an appointment or receiving feedback from my professors. Every semester I'll think I've found my all time favorite professor or class, just to find another the next semester! You'll experience a lot of opportunities to reach outside your major through electives, professional associations and clubs, too.he university is home to many programs that can lead to your success. Research is a huge area that the university has been focusing on, and it is a great idea for any prospective student to know how awesome University of South Florida is within the Central Florida area. I like that University of South Florida tries to show itself as a sustainable campus. If you come here for sustainability, just remember there are resources available but you need to put in a lot of work to make your dreams happen."

"It was a very tasking program, buy your own textbooks and read in the tutoring area, thats how I passed engineering. You can do it! Also, go for engineering events and organization events. It would help you a lot. I came into this school from Nigeria, everything you need in a community is around the U.S.F area, I started assimilating the environment by going for events and learning how to talk like them and I overcame the first challenge. You have to be somewhat diliigent to pass classes. Study every week and make time for your studies. there are lots of resources to help you pass. I used to go to the kopp area and ask questions, for other majors ask your advisor where to go, other places are the library or previous questions of the class's exams. I was a good student and I read dilligently which was why I graduated with excellent colours. Make sure you study and listen in class. The teachers are not the greatest but if you listen, you will pass. You should develop a sense of urgency to start studying before you need to so when the urgency comes and your exams are back to back in the same week, you don't have to start pulling an all nighter like the cliche bad student. Get involved!! I played racquestball, badminton, played intramurals soccer, went swimming a lot. These activities relieve stress and help you get your mind off school. If you don't play a little you WILL get depressed because the program is really tasking. U.S.F is raising the bar each academic year and they are becoming a more competitive school in every area so you can not afford to play. You can tell by the ground they are gaining in cancer research and in technological funding they are receiving. BEST OF LUCK"

"I would greatly recommend the University of South Florida to anyone. The school, especially the College of Public Health, provided me with all the essential tools I needed in order to succeed in the future. I was able to get a job working in the field that I wanted. I am forever grateful for USF and the years I have spent there."

"The staff is extremely helpful and want nothing but the best. They will go above and beyond their job description to ensure you understand the content to successfully complete the courses, and the program ultimately. The Bachelors of Social Work degree would not be possible to complete if it weren't for the professors who do as much as possible to help each and every student who requests assistance. Overall, the University of South Florida is a great university that provides great programs of study from mathematics to microbiology and everything in between,"

"The University of South Florida was a great school for my undergraduate degree in communications. All of the professors that I had were very supportive of my academic journey and engaging with all students. While USF is a large school I felt like I was given sufficent attention from professors and faculty when needed. I also enjoyed the location of the school which is in Tampa, FL. College life was always comfortable with plenty to do at the school or off campus. The beach was always near by when I needed a break. The friends I made at USF are still friends today. All of us are using what we learned at USF to perform better in our jobs today."

"The health sciences program at USF is a versatile program to allows for an all-encompassing experience in preparation for graduate or professional degree programs. You have to option to undertake a health sciences degree with a focus in biology and mental health, health information systems etc. So while you gain the basic science understanding of the body down to a chemical level, you also have the opportunity to advance your understanding of other systems of the body. I appreciated this degree program as it allowed me to focus on what I am passionate about, while ensuring I met the requirements for advancement into a professional degree program."

"USF provided me with an excellent education and a community when I was far from home. While some laud the small colleges and universities for their intimate classroom settings, I am here to tell you that you can find that at USF as well. The College of Education is a smaller community within the robust undergraduate sphere where you can find the small class sizes and personalized teacher-student interactions. Not to mention that it is in the heart of campus and full of passionate and interesting people. I met some of my best friends at USF and gained skills in interpersonal communication and leadership that I still use to this day."

"I highly recommend this degree under two conditions: First you must be positive that you plan to pursue further education after the attainment of your bachelors and two you must have a passion for serving others. The reason I mention these two things is because while health sciences is an amazing field with so much to offer and so much knowledge to absorb, finding a job in this field with just a bachelors is difficult. You will need to use it as a gateway degree to higher education in order to optimally benefit. Furthermore, I mention having a desire to serve others because any other major goal or purpose will result in a disservice to the public and your future patients. Healthcare isn't easy and every patient will be completely different then the next even though they may share identical diagnosis. You must understand that your patients have trusted you with their well-being, their families have trusted you with their loved ones, and society has trusted you with it's people. After understand this, you will be able to see each patient as a whole and as their own person. Only then will you truly be able to be of service to others."

"I was a double major at the University of South Florida. I studied Political Science and History. Both of my programs were filled with very helpful instructors and staff to help. Just be wary of how extensive the reading list can be for both of these majors- some classes had four or five books which can add up taking four classes per semester. I recommend however instead of majoring in political science (if you are interested in politics) to major in international relations instead as that program was more organized and I felt like I learned more from their program rather that political science classes. The history department is great. The amount of students in the program is small especially in comparison to Engineering or Health, which is very beneficial to a great learning environment. USF is a large school, with a gorgeous campus containing almost fifty thousand students. It is so large and full of clubs and activities it can be almost overwhelming but a welcomed perk of going to school there. I loved how diverse USF was with international students from all over the globe. USF as has an amazing study abroad office and I went on two study abroad trips during my undergrad and it was the best experience I could have ever asked for. There are offices to help with every question you could possibly have, but be weary of the line in the financial aid office which is very long, so much so it became a well known joke around campus. USF is not perfect but I am more than happy I got my undergraduate degree there."

"Advising is just terrible. Zero stars for the economics advisor. They try hard to show how much they dont care about you or the money youre spending. Dont transfer here, it will be a large setback for you. Their degreeworks says Im 95% done with my degree but the advisor just now mentions, after several meetings, that I need to take several other meaningless classes to fulfill their some arbitrary extra requirement. Just a cash grab designed to lower your gpa. The we need you to be more well rounded argument doesnt hold any water. My associates degree rounded me well enough. I came here to take serious classes, which I have done, but I wasnt expecting to have to take 7 more classes that dont pertain to a quality education."

"Campus is going down hill. I feel like the girls bathroom is always dirty and never clean. Feels like I am back in high school. The professors are hit or miss. Half of them are great the other half suck. I studied at SPC and regrett transfering early to USF. USF makes you take to many corses that are not even part of your subject. They also make you take 9 credit course in the summer time which financial aid does not cover. And parking absolutely sucks!! There are to many students for the campus. The only good thing about the school is the gyms, and some of the buildings are pretty cool."

"The Public Health Masters program at USF is wonderful. The professors are very knowledgeable and supportive in your degree and your future career. Please note this knowledge is over 10 years old, so some things may have changed. Attending USF itself can be quite frustrating as it is very large, though. Parking is a nightmare, and you can expect to have to walk over a half mile during the busiest times at school or find no parking at all. But other than that I have mostly pleasant memories of USF, the students, professors, and the Public Health course content. All the course content was completely up-to-date and relevant to the career field. I highly recommend this program."

"USF is a great school. Professors are well qualified. This semester, one of profs got her doctorate at OXFORD, another was an ACTUAL ambassador to Mali. Teachers here are also very willing to give stellar job or internship recommendations. I've completed my bachelors and masters degrees here and overall the experience was pleasant. The school has a variety of academic programs to explore and continuing education opportunities. The community outreach is great too, I had no trouble finding employment right after graduation thanks to wonderful professors. The online classes and on campus classes were helpful and easy to access. The library has everything you need and free prints for students. Parking can be tricky but once you figure out the best times to arrive at school, it's really not an issue (plus overflow parking at the sun dome and parking garages helped)."

"This school is just going downhill the professors they have are terrible and don't understand technology or how to use it properly. It's ridiculous that multiple people with a PhD can't even write proper English let alone use a program correctly. I give this program a 0/5 for how helpful the Professors and staff are. I graduate with my Masters and really learned how out of touch they are once I got my first job."

"My college is known for being one of the top research schools in the country! Not only are the students expected to work together through classwork they also are expected to be present on campus. We have so many opportunities for that because we have clubs, black student union, fraternities, sororities and so much more. We offer opportunities for residential life as a resident assistant, we are known for our school pride and our wonderful president Judy Genshaft. I really enjoyed my time at the College of public Health because the professors took the time to get to know us through our strengths and weaknesses. We had a lot of public speaking and the group work only allowed us to become closer as a cohort. Speaking of extracurricular activities being a returned peace corps volunteer I was happy to find out how active my school is within the community. WE are always finding a way to give back to Tampa Bay. We make time to learn about our community and its needs. We commit time to after school activities, we always have some relaxing school activities and we are also spearheading research for cancer. I think that the learning environment at my university is nothing short of magical. We have ballet, art, theater, the student art museum, Rocky Horror Picture Show, bull-market, long library hours, supportive staff and most of all supportive peers. I hope that you can come learn about yourself and others at the best school on the planet. Take it from me I change my major a few times, but in the end I walked across the stage with my head head high."

"The University of South Floridas Masters of Applied Anthropology Program is fantastic for three primary reasons. First, it is the best applied anthropology program in the United States. For anyone looking for training in applied anthropology, there is no better program out there. The professors are prepared to teach you how to apply anthropological skills and training to a career outside of academia. You will learn about writing for the general public and how to market yourself and your anthropology degree. Second, there any many opportunities to participate in applied research and community efforts while in the program. Your CV or resume will grow while you are still in school, making you a better candidate for jobs upon graduating. In the community, many graduates from the program are running community programs and projects. This program will provide you with fantastic connections in the local job market ranging from federal government jobs to nonprofits. Finally, there is the opportunity to complete a dual degree in public health, which is the program I am completing. There are very few schools that allow you to complete two masters degrees at one (or a Ph.D./masters combination), which saves time and money! The dual program requires that you put forth the effort to organize your schedule appropriately and take on extra work, but I will have both an MPH and MA in three years, with job experience in both fields. It is important to note that funding is not always easily accessible. You have to be a self-starter to find scholarships and funding opportunities. Regardless of the funding difficulties, the anthropology program at USF is the best choice for anyone focusing on applied anthropology or those with a passion for public health."

"I was part of USFs MSP3 1 year masters program. It was designed for pre med students and applicants in mind, as to prepare us for the rigors and pace of medical school. It has definitely prepared me for my future medical school endeavors. I believe it also had a large part in separating my application from the rest, as I have had multiple interviews and acceptances. Success aside, it's impossible to say anything but nice things about USFs faculty. They really were a colorful group of characters and brought our curriculum to life. I'm going to miss them, but I will always find solace in knowing the impact they have on my medical career. All in all, I would highly recommend the MSP3 program to anyone seeking to strengthen their application and get a real taste of what medical school is like. Go Bulls!"
