I Attended This a university at its Fort Polk Location On the military installation. I graduated in 2014 after being advised after every term I completed. Two years later I continue to receive emails about incorrect grades and them wanting to change my grades that I earned to lower grades. Now with it being two years later I have no emails left of my college days with them and it beginning to become very frustrating for me. I love this school! All of these other reviews are complaining about lack of structure or teacher involvement which I do not get! A syllabus is provided the first day of class that clear lays out all of the expectations for the next 8 weeks. And, you cannot expect every teacher to be the same or have the same requirements. All I know is if you read the syllabus and do what you are supposed to when you are supposed to you shouldn't have any problems! I did have one negative experience with an instructor... Read More who was not active in our learning, graded everything weeks after it was turned in, etc... but I notified the school and it was taken care of. That is another great thing about this school, the ladies working in the office and the advisors are so extremery helpful! I have called with too many questions yo count and not once have I felt like a problem or left with an unsweetened question or the help I needed. I highly recommend this school!

UIU has it's pros and cons, but unfortunately the cons reflect stronger than the pros. My academic advisor was incompetent and completely unprofessional. She advised me to apply for graduation, which comes with a fee, and I was denied because my advisor missed that fact I was 16 credits shy of actually completing my degree. Then when it came to graduating in May, I walked at the UIU ceremony only to receive a letter 2 months later saying I was 1 credit shy of graduating. My advisor had me take a... Read More 1 credit course at the local technical college, rather than taking an expensive 3 credit course at UIU. The advisor failed to inform me I needed to send my 1 credit course from the tech to UIU before the May graduation, therefore Registrar never showed I actually had the 120 credits to graduated, it only showed 119. I ended up sending my transcript and everything was accepted, yet my advisor still claimed I needed to reapply for graduation. After much stress, and jumping through hoops I found out I did graduate, and my advisor was giving me false information. Talk about a stressful situation. She potentially has ruined career opportunities for me since I have put on my resume that I graduated in May 2015, but because of her error my actual graduation is 08/2015 because she did not communicate fast enough or effectively enough to have my 1 credit transferred to UIU. Besides my advisor's sloppy work, the school is incredibly expensive compared to alternatives. On the bright side, I had some amazing professors who really listened, provided feedback, and helped me succeed with a 3.7 GPA and graduate with Magna Cum Laude and Honors. If you attend UIU, I suggest you always TRIPLE check your advisor's work. I attended UIU in my hometown, so the school's population was incredibly small. Small enough that my advisor could have paid better attention to her students' degree plans. Good luck!
