"Having completed my undergraduate degree with UIU on location in Des Moines and Ankeny, I must admit that compared with the state university I attended previously, UIU was indeed a joke. Eight weeks isn't nearly enough time to delve into the material, the assignments and tests weren't challenging, and the professors weren't nearly as approachable (busy with their other teaching positions at other universities). The worst part is this school cost much more than a state university and buried me in greater student loan debt; however, the options were limited in the town I'd moved to.Then they accepted me in their online graduate program, which I currently attend and am disappointed with. The 3 professors I've taken so far have expressed extremely conservative political ideology and seem to discriminate against students with liberal leanings. Though I may not truly qualify as "liberal," attending under the guidance of ultra-conservative, fervently religious professors is proving irritating and wasn't what I expected. It may be time to consider transferring elsewhere."

"I dropped out of this school and went to a university that chose not to GIVE their degree's away. I took 32 credits and received an A in every class and never had to read a text book. All test open book and open note. They never had enough teachers to teach all course. Once they put a criminal lawyer in to teach our Corporate Tax Accounting course. The teacher was clueless. That is what finally made my mind up to get out. If you only want a piece of paper and not an education then this is a great school for you.I do the hiring and firing now. I won't even consider a UIU graduate for our corporation."

"I lost my job in Nov 2008 and decided to take the time off and finish my B.S. I researched online universities and settled with UIU. I have completed four terms and will be finishing in October 2009. I have taken 2 courses a term and found some of them very challenging. I have had great interaction with the instructors and classmates. For the money it is well worth it and I would recommend to anyone. They have financial aid, advisors that are very helpful. All the staff are were very helpful and a call away. I am hoping that having my degree from UIU will assist me in getting a job. I forgot, I lost my job and was doing daddy daycare for our two year old son. Sticking to the schedule can be tough, but you must be able to self motivate and push yourself. It was very challenging studying with the distraction of a child, just to warn anyone."

"I have been in the UIU online program for 3 years now and have not regretted it yet. The program is well laid out and fairly easy to work through. I wasn't sure about going to an online but once I found they were regionally accredited (which means actual universities would acknowledge their programs as legit) I applied. For adults, the program works great. I was surprised by one of the reviews complaining that they did not get a call back. If that was my situation, I think I would have taken ownership and not relied on someone else. I would recommend the program to anyone."

"As a working mother and member of the Army NG, I completed my BS in Public Administration with UIU graduating in 1997. When I decided to go for an MBA in 2005, this was my first choice. Not only because they are in the top 10 Nationally accredited online universities, but because my relationship with the online staff and my academic adviser was terrific. I have been challenged, encouraged, and most of all supported by each representative I work with. I will complete my program the end of Sep 09 and will be a proud UIU graduate once again."

"I officially applied to the school, was accepted and contacted by an admissions representative. I decided to wait until the next semester after finding out about a daily sign on requirement that I wasn't going to be able to meet while on vacation. The admissions representative never called or emailed me back. I contacted him but found out that it was too late to register for the next semester. I asked him to contact me to get started and I never heard back from him. The 50 dollar admission fee was wasted. I don't want to attend a school that has poor follow up and communication. They are a business, you would think that they would appreciate a customer that approaches them, not one that they have to sell to."
