"The program offers some very exciting new research areas to participate in with knowledgeable students and faculty to work with. The graduate school offers seminars to enhance students' education by exposing them to other relevant work. Nashville is a very awesome city to live in and there are tons of activities and social events within the department and on campus. There are a variety of classes to choose from and the opportunities to participate in/watch athletics are numerous. The graduate school also offers excellent career advisement services with individual appointments, job-specific feedback, and help connecting to networks and alumni."

"Vanderbilt has a great faculty and social environment. Could use work on career support (especially clerkship stuff). Vanderbilt is also relatively intolerant of minority religious viewpoints."

"Vanderbilt Law can be classified as collegial overall. It fosters a very comfortable yet sufficiently challenging learning environment. It is definitely not one of the "cut-throat" law schools. However, the diversity of the student body population can be enhanced."

"I'm pursuing my Master's in Nursing to become a Nurse Practitioner, and Vanderbilt was the best decision I could have made! The faculty are amazing and renowned nationwide in their fields of expertise. The campus is gorgeous, and connected seamlessly to Vanderbilt Hospital. It is a high-tech program with excellent training and preparation for your career. And Nashville is a great place to live. Overall, I would definitely recommend Vanderbilt to anyone who is serious about taking the next step in their education."

"VUSN's program is a fast-paced Masters of Nursing degree with very high expectations placed on the students. Do not expect any free time or extracurricular enrichment. The faculty is very supportive of students, and eager to help. The school does suffer from a lack of diversity (among both students and faculty) and lacks sensitivity to the concerns of students who are not white, straight, upper middle class women. For a program so focused on producing health care professionals who ARE sensitive to the needs of diverse populations, this needs serious work. Vanderbilt's campus and the city of Nashville are both lovely and easy to navigate. Cost of living is low, but this is an expensive program and VUSN provides almost no scholarship money. Loans are plentiful, and most students can get their textbook covered, but otherwise only 2 full scholarships are given out each year (among a class of approx. 170)."

"The MSN bridge program is incredibly intense academically, but the program coordinators make a concerted effort to help and support as much as possible. Financial aid for VUSN doesn't really exist, you get a small scholarship but the tuition is very high. It is worth it though because you get incredible clinical experiences, access to cutting edge technology, and you make great connections with professors."

"The MEd Special Education program is wonderful. Faculty are prominent members of the field and the many research studies being conducted provide ample opportunity for gaining experience as well as for financing school. Expectations are high and graduate students are expected to self-advocate when needing guidance and/or assistance."

"The physics program is challenging and offers a good variety of research interests and an environment that allows for life outside of grad school. I have found the faculty to be encouraging, helpful, and genuinely interested in me as a person and in my opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of the program. One of the things I wish were different is the low number of female faculty--the male/female ratio among students is actually quite good, I think, but we have very few female professors."

"There is no campus housing for graduate students, but there are tons of resources for finding nearby housing. It is also relatively cheap in Nashville, which is great. There are always things going on and things to do. The faculty are very supportive of each student and invested in each student's career."

"These ratings give equal weight to all categories, but in reality, only some are truly important. On those (competitiveness, support, education quality), Vanderbilt scores quite high."
