"The school itself is great, but the nursing program is very unorganized. You are left with teaching yourself the entire program. Turnover rate for students and instructors are very high so there is no steady pace, tests are okay but when an instructor makes up questions (we know because of typos) they don’t make sense and then when you challenge the question, they get upset with you and make you look like you are in the wrong. Once again you are left with learning how to become a nurse on your own with little assistance by an instructor since they get paid to do so. A lot of money wasted and that this school should not have a nursing program."

"I cannot express the disappointment with the quality of the teachers. I had previous nursing knowledge, and that is what helped me with my classes. I felt awful for the students who had no prior nursing knowledge. They were left to learn on their own. There is no teaching at this school. One of the teachers left for Germany on the second week of starting and did not come back to teach our class. We had several replacement teachers every two weeks to cover that class. It was horrendous. Please be advised that you must take several hours of every day to teach yourself nursing material should you decide to go to this school. If you can, plan to go elsewhere. I am solely reviewing the nursing program for this school."

"If you have to opportunity to go elsewhere choose it. Wayland is extremely disorganized, the teachers do not communicate with the students and most teachers do not clarify the curriculum. The dean does not support students, only the staff because they have a hard time keeping teachers due to the disorganization. I wish i would have looked around more before choosing this nursing program."

"Wayland Baptist University was a great experience for me. The classes were well presented by the instructors and the fellow students were fantastic. This university offers a refreshing Christian perspective that was applied to the secular science of Psychology and the art of Counseling. Class sizes are small, which allows for deeper discussion, learning, and application. If you desire to go into the field of counseling, you'll find it difficult to find a better counseling degree in this region. Not only did this school prepare me well to be a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in the State of Oklahoma (now under supervision), it helped me get promoted twice in one year with my employer. This school is flexible, military friendly, and well worth the value. DO NOT overlook Wayland Baptist University!"

"The program will not help you to get a job. Most employers find doctorates to be over qualified. I did not see the point of attending this school. I didn't learn very much. The entire process was very confusing and stressful for me and many of the other students."

"This school is not Military Friendly. I believe they cost way to much. They have fees for online exams and everything. It so many extra cost on this school. Unlike AMU where if you go to training the teacher can wait for you to come back where you can pick up where you left off. This school give you an incomplete and you have to wait unit the next term to complete your class. A total waste of time. With AMU I had a 4.0 still have it with this school I have a 2.0 because I miss an exam and tried to contact the school and the teacher would not allow me to make up the exam."

"I attended this school's nursing program and graduated. I could write a book on why you should go elsewhere for nursing. My core classes were awesome but this nursing program is messed up. Unprofessional professors who are constantly late, blatantly playing favorites with students. No continuity between professors who are teaching the same course at the same time. Half the clinical experiences were absolutely awful. Please, this program will push you through and get you to NCLEX, but they will make it way tougher and more frustrating/stressful than it needs to be. Your GPA will be damaged through no fault of your own. You will hate WBU by the time you finish the program. Go elsewhere if you have options"

"Wayland Baptist University (WBU) is a diverse school with multiple campuses around the nation, and even one in Africa. I found that the smaller classroom instruction inside the satellite campus was great! At the time, it was 2007/2008 when I was taking the bulk of my courses at the Sierra Vista/AZ campus, but my instructors (approx. 1 instructor to no more than 20 students) were very knowledgeable about the material they taught. Also, I found the staff to be very helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable on paperwork. WBU strives to educate students in a challenging environment with a focus on Christian stewardship, and they do it well. As a Christian, I find myself happy with the coursework and I do not think the school shoves Christianity down anyone's throat. Unless things have changed drastically, you will still be expected to learn Old and New Testament as part of the curriculum requirements for graduation, but it is expected everyone will gain that knowledge and should not be surprised by that while attending a Christian university. Though I will tell you, this is NOT a party school. WBU is designed for adult student learners that are busy professionals, younger students, military members, and just about anyone who is serious about studying, learning and growing in their education walk. Their campus at Sierra Vista, Arizona is nice and well maintained, small, and does not have dormitories. WBU also has an office extension on Fort Huachuca for military members, contractors, or government employees to take their coursework. One of the best things to remember is that WBU works with local colleges and universities to accept and translate experiential professional development. This means that if you were in a technical field in the military, you could earn some credits based on that experience. Lastly, I am finishing out my Master's degree at WBU Online and I find the coursework challenging, rewarding, realistic and the professors are professional and knowledgeable as well. If your in Plainview, Texas, or from anywhere really, consider WBU for your higher learning experience. I am very satisfied, overall, with my experience."

"It is a small, intimate, Christian university. The professors know you by name and are willing to help whenever you need help. Because it is a relatively small campus, it is easy to have many meaningful relationships."

"I truly thought my masters degree was easier than my bachelors. Not only had I learned how to study but was also more settled and confident in learning the material I was given."

"Wayland Baptist University is the perfect school that provides small classroom attention and superb professional and knowledgeable Instructors. This particular school is diverse not just ethnicity wise but pertaining to the non-traditional student (whether being a husband, wife, parent, etc.)"

"I am a Navy veteran and the councilor for the military was great. Tuition assistance were very timely. Classes were convenient located on the base I was at. The Instructors were helpful, friendly, and encouraging. My degree in Occupational Education has helped me to get an instructor position on base and I went back to WBU for my masters which help me advance in my career and onto a Curriculum Development position."

"I have nothing but great things to say about Wayland Baptist University(WBU)! Definitely a military friendly school! I happily recommend this school to friends and family. Working full time, being a military member and a single parent is a very busy life. But the WBU staff were very understanding and gladly worked with me incase I needed a little time on assignments. The class sizes were small so each student had more individual attention with their professor, if needed. By the time I graduated I had spent so much time with my classmates and professors, we felt like a small family. Graduation day was even more meaningful and special because by then, we all grew into a family. I'm very happy to be continuing my education with Wayland."

"Wayland worked well with the GI bill. It was fairly easy to enroll and I am enjoying my education. The instructors are great and they really work with their students. For students pursing a religious degree, Wayland Baptist is an excellent choice."

"I found Wayland Baptist University to be the ideal fit for me as a non-traditional student. As a single parent working full time I had very little time left for myself. Having the option to take online classes allowed me the flexibility to pursue my degree without taking time away from my children while dashing across town to be in time for class. The instructors at Wayland all seemed to be experienced in delivering effective course content online and each of them seemed fully engaged with their students and classes. I found the course work to be challenging in a way that caused me to expand my understanding of my area of business. Not only did I earn a degree but I learned theories and skills that I was able to apply to real life situations. As a result, my own job performance improved and I have become a mentor for other managers at my institution. I strongly recommend Wayland Baptist University for any non-traditional students as it is a place that values your life experiences and provides the flexibility for you to have a life outside of school."

"I attended Wayland Baptist University which was located at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. It was my pursuit of my goal to reach the first benchmark which was my Bachelor degree after being combat wounded in Afghanistan in which I did not believe I would be able to finish school with my disabilities. I proved myself wrong and ended up earning my certificate. With my GI Bill which is to expire I wish to finish my Master's degree. With the evolving law enforcement practices and career fields available the education received mirrored what was in practice when I was working as a civilian law enforcement officer for years. I decided to enlist into the Active Duty Infantry with the 101st Airborne to serve my country which I am proud and honored. Though it is bittersweet that the war ended up causing the sacrifice of my friends and I ended up being 100 percent disabled physically and suffered severe TBI and had to bring my service dog to classes with me which was interesting. Colleges are more accepting of diversity and life changes that people have to overcome."

"It's been a while since I graduated from Wayland Baptist however, I have very positive things to say about the school and their staff. When I attended, the advisors were very attentive and helped me quite a bit with my degree plan. The professors and adjunct professors were easy to relate to and were often able to spend time with the students due to lower student / teacher ratios. Overall positive experience at the San Antonio campus. I've worked with several co-workers who have attended more recently and they've had good positive comments and have also done well in the workplace. If you're looking for a college or university in the San Antonio area where you can earn a degree through night classes while working during the day, this might be worth checking into."

"I took most of my classes online, but also took a few at two of the campuses in Alaska. Every experience was good, from the administrative staff to the professors. I learned a lot and it was all relatively easy and painless."

"In my graduate program, the staff is very supportive and motivate students to higher success in their academics. Giving up on a student, is not a factor at Wayland Baptist University with the care and appreciation of the staff and the relationship the body has between student and faculty; is positive."

"WBU (Hawaii campus) provides a flexible schedule for students with full-time jobs as well as a compassionate faculty genuinely invested in the overall success of WBU students. However, the program I am enrolled in doesn't challenge me to think critically about the topics we are learning about, and I don't think that the standard for quality of work is very high for a graduate program. I do appreciate, however, that this school brings together a plethora of individuals who are experienced in the work force and can provide trusted insight into the applicability of the concepts we study to the "real world""
