"West Coast University is the worst one I have been. I am currently enrolled in an online FNP program. I have faced technical issues, but the university does not provide tech support over the weekend, and it takes 2-3 business days to respond to your queries. No one cares that you will be penalized for late submissions, as the university is not concerned about your late submissions and tries to economize on essential student needs. From an academic perspective, the lectures are inadequate, with a 15-minute cardiology lecture as an example. Additionally, I have faced issues with the university clinical coordinator not responding to my emails for a week. I had hoped that choosing a more expensive university would provide me with more resources and support, but that has not been the case. Do yourself a favor and find a less greedy university."

"West Coast university Ontario was not a good choice . I was looking to get into nursing school because I was tired of waiting. Wcu got me with the every 10 weeks is a different class . They don’t tell you quiz plus unnecessary busy online unreal senarios are required as well . I got dismissed with and overall Gpa 3.0 with 7 months left until graduation. They refused to let me back in because I failed with a C because my proctor exam took my critical score to a 74. The following term they eliminated the critical score and the proctor exam no longer weighed enough to drop your grade . Needless to say I was upset to find out the criteria that led to my dismissal was no longer in effect I was upset . I called the school they said because it’s a catalog change I’m still dismissed. Thousands down the drain and now I have start over from scratch . I do know ppl who are nurses and graduates from the school . They got jobs but was still completely clueless. Reason being no clinical sites even after clinical sites were open. Wcu had a bad reputation and many facilities were not welcome to WCu students . Now I’m in debt with no nursing degree where as on the other hand WESt coast is sitting pretty good with my student loans . I don’t recommend anyone attend this school. I know about 2 others who also got dismissed and around the same time as myself . I pray GOD has mercy on them for their greed . I do believe one day I will have my money and those responsible for being greedy will pay for their wrong doing ."

"West Coast University is a "For-Profit" school meaning that they genuienly don't care about their students. If you plan to attend this school remember that West Coast University's first priority is your money and not your success, mental health or concerns. The school allows their instructors to write their own exams which are not uniform across the board which puts certain students at a disadvantage as not all instructors are great test writers and are able to correlate the test properly to their individual lecture. The school has a beautiful campus and from what I hear a somewhat decent reputation in hospitals but in my opinion West Coast University is not worth the extremely high price tag. Avoid this school at all costs if you are looking for a school with student integrity. Only certain students at this university receive special treatment which you will experience for yourself upon attending."

"I was a student here and finished my degree in 2022. While the instructors and education were decent, please be mindful of financial aid. I am a veteran and submitted my DD214 to receive the veteran discount and in the beginning, they said everything looked good. Then the last month of my degree, all of the sudden there was something wrong with my DD214 (wrong copy). So I provided that copy, then all was good. Then the last week of school, I get a call that they cannot honor the veteran discount because the verbiage in the discharge type box was wrong. I was discharged under honorable circumstances and receive disability pay every month so this alone should be MORE than enough (minus the verbiage) to have me get the veteran discount. I was then told I would have to get a lawyer to get the verbiage changed to proceed with the discount. By this point, I was officially graduated and had my diploma in hand. The women I spoke with at the Dallas financial aid office were horribly disrespectful and unable to help. They said get a lawyer, get it changed, then the discount will be applied. Well, who is going to pay for that lawyer?! Not me, I don't have that kind of money. The fact that they WAITED until the very last second to tell me that my DD214 would not be accepted is ridiculosis and makes me think they did that on purpose to collect more money. If you're a veteran, stay away from here, take your education elsewhere that will treat you better. If you are a civilian, I still say go elsewhere because if they treat veterans this way, then they will treat everyone this way"

"I am taking the LVN to BSN program. As an LVN I think that the program feels more like a refresher of what I already know. I find it "busy" but not hard. What I mean is that we have a lot of easy assignments that take time to complete. Most test are to the point and not difficult if you study. I find myself only reviewing the content but not really studying hours on end as other students report. Teachers are nice but not your friend, if that makes sense. My LVN program seems a lot harder that this so far. I am currently in core term two. This is an expensive school so don't come here acting like you didn't know this school is a business first. Do what you need to do and you will pass. You seriously get the road map to pass all you have to do is walk the road and study. I recommend the LVN to BSN program to all my LVN's out there looking for a flexible program."

"I graduated with BSN in 2022. I took most pre-recs at WCU and all nursing core classes . Previously I had attended UCLA and before that I went to Santa Monica College so I have a reference to compare WCU to. WCU is a school for those who want to finish their nursing program quickly ! The program is easy and anyone can pass pretty much if you put some work into it. The only complaint I had was that most student were not serious about studying. The acceptance rate is very low at WCU so almost anyone can get in which produces a not very stimulating environment academically speaking . Comparing to for example UCLA where student care about learning . There are some students who are serious and I was able to connect to them and form study groups and life long friendships . The teachers are very good and they care about students . The only exception are some clinical instructors truly do not care and you are left to practice clinical skills on your own…. However there are skills labs available and so if you feel like you need to practice more they do accommodate you gladly. The reputation of WCU in the field is very good and I was surprised when I started working that it was a well respected school ( I did not know what to expect ). I ended up enrolling into a masters program at WCU to continue my educational journey and plan to become a nurse practitioner, while working as an RN I highly recommend this school . Also just to add , I am a single mom of two little kids so it’s completely possible to have a life and attend the BSN program ."

"This school being a for-profit university is really out to get your money! Super expensive and offer no grants or scholarship.. you dependent on financial aid and they try to get you to sign and get on parent plus loans. The classes are a joke. I’ve seen so many promote it but no worth it. They have you take unnecessary classes.. I already have a bachelors and thought I’d get a second and major in nursing. Big mistake coming here."

"Please read these reviews because they are not coming from a bad place. This school really is bad. Often times the professors don't show up for clinicals and you are there not knowing what to do. This happened to me twice during different terms. The school and staff don't communicate or return texts, emails, calls. The staff and dean are not helpful, even when it's something as simple where do I do if a teacher doesn't show. The worst part of the situations that come up is that as a student you are responsible even though it's out of your hands. Each teacher uses their own rules as what is required even though someone in the same term/class don't have the same rules. They make excuses of finding that you are not compliant; for example flu shots are required prior to 8/31 even thought they don't come out till 9/1. complio requires one date but the school requires another and you have to pay for another term 7k. Please don't go to this school the issues are endless and the staff is very unprofessional."

"I am not just saying this either - this is the WORST university, not just for nursing school, but in general. The administration does not offer any support; everything is last minute and under communicated. The professors have no regard for their students in terms of teaching the information in a comprehensive manner. It is all self taught. The grades are based on ATI test scores, and there is ZERO ATI instruction for the exams. The clinical site rotations are highly unorganized, and everyone is in a sense "figuring it out". This is our life, our career, our present and future, and the university as a whole does not care about their students. The university is highly expensive, there's just no return on the investment here. If you are considering this university, TRACE FAR AWAY!"

"Instructors in GE will help you succeed but when you get into CORE, it's the complete opposite. It really is a waste of time and money where financial aid will get back faster to you than academic advisors. The schools focus is on passing NCLEX so none of the other work matters. Deans will give instructors too much discretion in class. Instructors come from other jobs where there's no consistency. They don't reply to e-mails or calls and barely use the Remind app. They expect active learning to be more engaging and for you to be able to cover all the material without completely discussing concepts. Some of the instructors put simple power points up and it lacks content. So when you take ATI tests, students end up doing poorly because the content is completely different than what is being taught back."

"This school is a waste of time and money. If you are going to this school, you will regret it later. This school is a waste of time and money. For one class, they charged you $800.The passing grade is C+. They give you a lot of assignments in ati and many projects, but all of this does not provide you grade. It is a waste of time rather than preparing for tests. Please save yourself and do not attend this school."

"This school traps you with false promises. The staff turnover is ridiculous. The staff talks to adults like children. This is my 3rd degree I know how school works no need to talk down on your students/customers. They highly recommend you quit your job. They require you to have health insurance however they don’t provide you with any resources to find affordable care. When asked about help they said to refer to student hand book."

"The school is completely disorganized, students have no say on who their teachers are let alone when you have class. There is a reason they aren’t allowed to do clinicals at some hospitals. Pure laziness with administration and staff. Do not waste your money or time with such a horrendous “academic” institution."

"WCU is all about money. They charge $599 PER credit for GenEd & then $799 PER credit for the Core Nursing classes. Mind you most of the classes are 2-3 credit classes so you are paying around $1200+ for just ONE class. I had a lot of aid given to me by FAFSA both loans & grants & I still wasn't able to pay my tuition. They only give you grants if you apply for private loans you literally HAVE to apply & if you get it you have to use it or its not considered exhausting all your options (which is the only way you grants from them). This school is all about money as you can see from how they charge you for your classes. If you have to wait to go somewhere then wait. Don't drown in debt for this school, I surely am not."

"To be honest this school is all about their money, they do not care about students; they just implement things that are convenient for them, and leave the students in dark (even with the amount of tuition being paid); no advocates for the studens. Be warned your success in this school is based largely on ATI ptoctors. Most of the teachers DO NOT CARE, they make their quizzes unnecessarily tricky and the ATIs are the worse. Although am about to grade on less than 5 months (hopely) I still won't recommend this school to even my enemies. BE WISE FOLKS!"

"They are truly unprofessional and really don’t care about students. I would make this my last opinion. For the price of what you pay, you should see more professionalism and quality of your education. I know other school may be harder to get into but I still think well worth looking in to."

"This university is all about the money and not about the success of their students. They picture rainbows and sunshine during your walking tour and trying to convince you to attend there. In reality though all they see all the dollar signs and how much they can suck out of you. I’m a mother of two and even quit my job to focus strictly on school. Yet as most parents know certain life challenges happen that are out of your control. I passed all my pre reqs and made it into the nursing core program. Failed 2 courses by 2 points and was dismissed. I researched and knew that majority of nursing programs will kick you out after 2 failed courses. That’s when I found out there was an appeal option. Well that’s what I did .. I appealed and even submitted proof of kids hospital visits, surgery records imaging reports, etc (practically my life in a letter) was poured I to this appeal and still got denied. After contacting the staff I was told that not only my hard situations played in the decision but my GPA, and attendance. She told me that since my GPA dropped 2 points from when I started, that this also had to do with their response. So much happened since starting school like father passing away , becoming pregnant , and raising kids while husband worked out of state and still kept going the best I could. Nope .. that wasn’t enough and still received a bill to pay same day I received my denial letter. Long story short this school doesn’t care about their students and they definitely don’t try to work with the students who have some life struggles yet still trying to better their education. Now you’re just left with a high school loan debt. On top of all this I referred about 3 friends here ( big mistake). Bad experience here .. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!"

"West coast university sounds fantastic when you go in for your tour. They offer everything that you could possible need to pass their courses. The truth is, the nicest department is the financial aid department. You do not get the customer service or quality education you deserve for the money you pay. Staff is passive aggressive, they do not work with you. The program gives you a RIDICULOUS amount of busy unnecessary work that you do not have actual time to study the material for the tests that matter. They send out letters of concern to students when they aren't passing. The teachers dont always go over missed concepts and there is no way for you to see what you got wrong on your exams. How are you to learn from your mistakes? The teachers that are provided for certain subjects are ridiculous. For the money youre paying you would think youd be getting the best of the best. We are sooooo consumed trying to complete assignments that dont count to our actual passing grade that there is hardly any time to study and do well on the exams that matter and will help us pass NCLEX. If i could do it again i'd choose another school."

"Stay as far as you can from this place, it is a total rip-off. The school does not prepare you for a career in nursing. There have been several graduates express this to me while I have been going here, in fact, they do not teach you the necessary skills that help you develop as a nurse. Also, the skills are just passed along and never performed. Therefore, this hurts you when you have to perform these necessary skills in a hospital scenario. The professors are not interested in the student's success for the money you are going to pay the school is not worth your time."

"So far this program has had ups & downs. Some hate it and some love it. I feel that I am learning and will be prepared as nurse. The right professors are challenging and prepare students for skills and future courses. It is not true that you will not be hired as a nurse if you go to this school, I know plenty that have! Overall- would recommend if you were in my spot at fighting every ADN program in Socal for a spot even with almost perfect grades."
