"I needed to earn my BSN, but was working a full-time, irregular schedule. This is an innovative school that allowed me to earn my BSN in a year for under $5000.00. Their format is very organized and user friendly, and the support from the student mentors and course mentors is phenomenal. This school has CCNE and regional accreditation; it is not a diploma mill. The work is not easy. I had to take biochemistry, had to write numerous papers for the other classes, and did 90+ clinical hours for my community health class. What I've learned has actually come in useful on the job."

"This is the worst college I have ever seen, first you have to jump through so many hoops just to do your work, then if it does not pass their on line review, you have "dumb it down" to make you papers upload. Most of the classes are almost impossible to pass "proctoring" and of course they always offer help but guess what no one can or wants to. I had a paper I was having trouble pass the check to see if it was copied for a entire month I fought with mentors teachers, etc, to find out it was the fault of the teacher that opened it to look at it so it showed in their system that it was her paper instead of mine so it showed a 99 percent copy and it took a act of god to get it fixed for 30 days. Then the proctor, first they break in all the time to have you turn this way to turn that way, what are we 10, we have degrees already but they treat you like you are in some government hush test taking. I at first thought this was going to be great, but they find ways to continue your paying on and on so when it is going to take you 18 months it means 36. I would never never recommend this college to anyone in fact all the nurses at my hospital know about this and decided not to attend, don't let the cheap price fool you. JE"

"I am almost done completing my Masters in Nursing. I have found this program to be a great fit for me. The assignments are rigorous and the material is very relevant and timely. There is no easy pass in this program- my undergraduate is from the University of Michigan so I have experience with a competitive prestigious brick and mortar school, and I can tell you that this is no diploma mill but a rigorous fully accredited program - I have had to revise most of my assignments- and feel I am learning a great deal."

"Let me just start by saying that I did receive my masters degree in three 6 month sessions ,I have seen reviews that state WGU is a " scam" it certainly is not a scam in that I did receive my intended masters degree which qualified me for a raise. The area of the University that I found to be sketchy was the quality of the teaching. There basically was not any instruction or a course mentor to interact or ask questions. Any query to expand on topics would result in a very general email to just refer to the course online materials. I found much of the information I needed to pass tasks by googling topics and seeing what came up. I also found You - Tube a great resource, which does not speak well to the level of instruction from WGU. I began referring to the University to my friends and family as Western Google University. Just to share a personal experience I was having difficulty passing a task that involved statical analysis. The course mentor did finally contact me but only after my term ended requiring me to start the course all over again. The course mentor told me that my paper was not passing because I had quantitative data that she did not fully understand because she was more comfortable with qualitative data. If I was going to pass the course I would have to change my entire data collection method to qualitative. For this course the instructor should be familiar with all types of data analysis so that student " tasks " can be properly graded. I also found it concerning that many of the courses are graded by Taskstream, not course instructors ( according to taskstream ) And finally, after writing my huge Masters Thesis and presenting what I felt was a wonderful power point to my Capstone Mentor I was simply thanked for my time and the online conference was disconnected, very anticlimactic - no comments - questions anything. Maybe it sucked, wouldn't know because after turning in a 100 page masters thesis I get a simple " passed" on my taskstream account. Would it be so hard write " nice job", "very original" or "this is the worst Capstone we've ever evaluated and want to be rid of you" Give me something. So if you read this tirade wanting to know if you should enroll in the masters in nursing admin program I would say yes only if you have had a great deal of nursing experience and research experience because if not you will be on your own and very frustrated."

"I graduated from WGU last May,2013. I am satisfied with my degree from BSN to MSN. Nothing was given to me for free. I had two excellent student mentors who pushed me as well as encouraged me to do well which I did not experience in the traditional schools I attended. These two were great help for me in completing my tasks via taskstream. Those people/evaluator were also great. I can tell the future students that you cannot gallivant or take the assignments for granted or you will really fail. I had three years of not having fun, now i can compete with anybody because I have RN-MSN after my signature. Some nurses don't want to do anything to advance their career and feel sour when they see my signature. All I can say is "honey enroll yourself and try what i did and up to that point I am willing to listen and tell them if i can do it you can also do it!" Everything for me was difficult at WGU, I had a qualitative research as my last course, here the professor was great and she really tested me from the first day i told her i would like to get out in the community up until my dissertation. There were times I contemplated of dropping but my mentor was always there for me to cheer me up and told me "you can do it!" I just could not believe the negative publicity about WGU but take it from me nothing was handed to me for free, I literally worked hard to obtain my BSN to MSN degree. The last time I checked from the Pa Dept of Education, I am a graduate from a registered and accredited University. Thanks WGU."

"This is the absolutely best online school ever!!! I was able to complete my BSN in less than a year completely online for about 7,000.00$ Totally worth it as my income increase 20,000.00$ a year as a result of this degree.I feel the education I received was fantastic and my personal mentor was like my own personal cheer leader. Great Program!"
